100% genuine

I consulted with Barry Janay regarding a probate matter. He was knowledgeable and generous with his time. He even offered different types of payment plans. If I decide to hire a probate attorney, he will be attorney I hire!

Traffic Violation - Great Job!

Barry did a great job for us on a recent traffic violation case. He is very efficient and kept us well-informed. He did a great job explaining the issues relevant to the case, and even provided links to other cases to explain further. We were very happy with the results.

Unprofessional

We hired Mr. Janay for our inc. documents. As a lawyer, Mr. Janay didn't even sign an agreement with us detailing the details of what kind of documents/services we will receive with the $2000 fee that we were asked to pay upfront. Then we received a template that we did most of work to track oursel...ves, our company is incorporated in NY state, in all his document it says Delaware, he didn't even bother to fix that before he recycles this from last projects. On the call with us, one of our team members doesn't speak perfect English and he seemed very inpatient and frustrated. Overall, not recommended. I am sure you can find a much cheaper/free template to start your own company.

Since this person brought up the amount charged it's only fair to defend it by indicating the level of service they received... - Employee Agreements / Independent Contractor Agreements including Offer letters and Confidentiality for both. - Stock Option Agreement - Corporate Board Resolutions to issue shares, adopt by-laws and appoint a President and Treasurer The above documents were sent over in DRAFT form and it was understood that we would go through them and discuss whether the specifics were all understood and acceptable prior to cleaning up the documents. This client perhaps did not understand the difference between a DRAFT and a final work product. Strikingly this client did not understand some basic tenets of labor law (i.e. unwillingness to pay wages to workers) and when explained that this would violate the Fair Labor Standards Act. If explaining labor law to this client was difficult, explaining issues of corporate law was next to impossible. Last, the agreed upon fee was drastically reduced over the course of 2 hours of initial consultations done at no charge during which the client begged and pleaded for further discounts of the fees. These client's got far above what they paid for.

Make sure Barry Janay is the right attorney for you. He wasn't for me.

Mr. Janay has been handling a RE matter for me. The documents he sends have mistakes, he is not responsive. I always have to contact him. I question how knowledgeable he is in the particular area. Kind of a jack of trades. At times I have found him to be unprofessional. Biggest mistake I made was h...iring him.

Judge this post and experience along with the others... Clearly you can't please all the people all the time and i'm sorry if this person feels that I wasn't the right lawyer for him, but "not responsive" and a 1 out of 5 in keeping him informed I take issue with. I'd say this individual probably has had very little interaction with lawyer's in a professional context in his or her life and if he did he would realize that I stand head and shoulders above most others in terms of my trustworthiness, responsiveness, knowledge, and keeping client's abreast of their matters. I may be a "jack of all trades" (sic) but I never indicate to my clients otherwise.

Barry was exceptionally responsive and supportive in assisting me in a recent real estate transaction. My interaction with Barry was extremely positive. Without hesitation, I would definitely recommend him to future clients.
