I recently sat down with Mr. Lasko regarding a CHRO/EEOC complaint against my former employer. After 1.5 hours I was ready to be done. But things were just warming up. Mr. Lasko often went on short tangents about things unrelated to determining if I had a case worth pursuing. Most of which were p...ersonal opinions that he treated as fact. Here are a couple of the better tangents that he went on. He told me that he doesn’t believe I have a mental disorder, even though I have two medical providers saying otherwise. That was after he told me that my medical provider in charge of prescribing my medications was a fraud because she was an APRN, not a MD. Others were about podcasts I needed to listen to, books I needed to read, or the same laws I needed to check out over and over again. At the hour and a half point of my consultation, after one of his tangents, I did tell him that I could not afford to go into a second hour, but he kept pushing on. He did end up capping my price at $450, which is good, because he probably would have kept blabbing and made me pay for the full 3 hrs, if not more. Upon using PayPal (which seems highly unprofessional for a lawyer) to create my consultation invoice, he continually spelled my email wrong. Even after many times of correcting him. He ended up sending it to some email, but it wasn’t mine. It was spelled wrong again. I ended up having to just put in my CC info at his computer as the email he sent didn’t arrive. Obviously. He did seem knowledgeable about the subject matter, but given the added fluff, there is no way I’d hire him to represent me. If you find yourself going into a consultation with Mr. Lasko, do not make the same mistakes I did. Pay for the first hour, watch the clock, and do not entertain him when he gets off the case matter. He will ramble right through each hour if you let him.
