My mission is simple: I help you protect your family and preserve your assets. I focus on estate planning and business planning. I also help people deal with the probate process in Connecticut, if a loved one has passed away.

Some people think estate planning is only for the very wealthy. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you have a home or if you have children, you should have an estate plan, even if it is a simple will, Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directives.

Connecticut probate is supposed to be user friendly, but it has become more complicated. If you need help after a love one has died, I can help. Did you know that even if all of your loved ones assets pass outside of probate, you still need to file a non-taxable estate tax return (CT706NT). Without it, if you or your children want to sell the house, you will have a title issue. That's why it's important to consult with a lawyer about probate in Connecticut.

I contacted Steven after finding him on the internet. I was going on vacation and wanted to get a will done before I left as I had been putting it off for a long time. White Glove Service for Complicated Estate Plan

My wife and I worked with Steve Basche and his team on a complete set of estate documents after the birth of our first child. We had a variety of nuances and preferences that we wanted our estate documents to accommodate, and Steve and his team were responsive, thoughtful, and consultative. Recommendation for estate planning

Attorney Basche helped me create a living trust, will, advanced directives, and final disposition Instructions giving me the peace of mind of my wealth succession. We sat down on several occasions for him to clearly understand my desires and legal implications. He is a good listener and created directives that are clear. I reviewed these with my financial planner who was impressed by his thoroughness. Steve created a binder and CD of the estate planning portfolio at a very reasonable price. Wills and Family Trust

Steve was great to work with. He had great suggestions for provision for our Trust. Explained all of our options and why we might want one provision over another. I wouldn't hesitate working with Steve in the future.

Sold my business and prepared Living Trust

Steven guided me thru the many details of selling my business. He's very knowledgeable of what a seller needs from start to final closing. Gave me confidence in my future

Steve helped me sort through some very important life planning decisions when my husband passed away last year. In addition to handling my probate, Steve patiently explained options relative to setting up my will and the trust funds for my teenage children. My situation was complicated by an out of state property holding . Steve procured an attorney for me in that state, insuring that the probate and structure of the trust fund would meet state requirements. In all our meetings, he took time to understand what I wanted to accomplish, helping me to think through the various scenarious that could impact my children's future. I would recommend Steve as counsel to anyone who is in need of patient, thoughtful legal advice.
