As an Engineer, you get to appreciate the level of detail and the ways he presents your case. I definitely will recommend Atty. Mark Blair to anybody that needs an expert and experienced lawyer. You dont need to tell him what results you wanted from him, he just delivers even better than you expected. Also, he responds to my inquiries right away. Very professional!

I was pulled over doing 115mph with a .09 BAC in San Mateo. The police report suggested that I tried evading the police, and acted like an arrogant drunk during the stop. The District Attorney charged me with the additional speeding enhancement, carrying an additional 60 day jail sentence.
I discovered Mark through the brochure I received in the mail. It was full of valuable information, and provided the first alert about contacting the DMV within 10 days to avoid suspension. I was so overwhelmed by the quality of the mailing that I researched Mark on the Internet to find his avvo profile. I decided to contact mark based on avvo's feedback, the quality of his mailing, and that he has only ever defended people in court.
As some reviews said, I reached an office line where an assistant took my information. Mark called me directly within an hour and advised me that the speeding violation was the most critical part of the case. I decided on the spot to retain Mark as my attorney.
I purchased my SR-22 insurance through a broker per his suggestion, which hides it from my actual insurance company. Provided my insurance company checks about 20% of their customers annually for SR-22 filings, that gives me about a 50% chance of getting through all three years without a check of my record, and avoiding the insurance increase.
Because of my speeding, the DA elected to not reduce my case to a wet-reckless. However, Mark advised me beforehand that it was highly unlikely, and I wasn't expecting it either. I gladly accepted the DUI charge, but had the speeding violation dropped, no court ordered suspension on my license, immediately available for restricted license, the 3 month DUI class, and only 1 day of the Sheriff's work program. This, as Mark put it, was a miraculous sentence. I completely agreed.
Due to out out-of-state suspension from 2000 (yes, the year 2000), I had a hold on my license through the national DMV which I was unaware of. As a result of trying to fix this, I didn't technically have a license during the period after my temporary license expired and the court date, which was approximately 2 months. Mark settled my DMV hearing and got my 30 day hard suspension backdated to that period, completely avoiding the DMV ordered 30 day suspension as a result.
My experience with Mark was absolutely phenomenal, and I give him my absolute highest recommendation.

I received what I believed was a questionable DUI. This opinion was reinforced by the arresting officer, who suggested I argue against the DUI, and the case was later rejected by the courts. However, I still had to deal with the DMV, and this is where Mark and his expertise came in and won me the case. The DMV approaches this in a much more black and white fashion, and Mark was able to gather the evidence needed to prove that there were errors within the process. He successfully argued my case with the DMV and I was fortunate enough to become part of a small percentage of people who had the case set aside. Other lawyers insisted this could not be done. Obviously, it could, and Mark Blair was the one who did it. He kept me in the loop, was very detailed and responsive, and was always respectful and honest, which was much appreciated. HIGHLY recommended!

Mark did a great job with my case from start to finish. I had taken ambien and rear ended one vehicle before hitting another one that was parked. I was arrested and spilled my guts to the cops. The case was further complicated by the fact that two days later I was offered a promotion and took a job in MA.
Mark did a great job of representing me and ensuring that the charge remained a misdemeanor (this kept me up nights because a felony would have resulted in my termination and made 8 years of college basically worthless). My sentence was light and Mark assisted me in getting things squared away with California while I was living on the other side of the US.
Mark takes a no-nonsense approach to things and I really appreciated that. I spoke with a couple of other DUI attorneys before locating Mark and they had ridiculously high rates and seemed preoccupied with "closing the sale" as opposed to listening to my concerns.
I fully recommend Mark Blair.

If you are like me, you probably do not have any idea of what to expect after you get arrested driving after 2-3 glasses of wine. It happened to me recently and Mark Blair expertly helped me to get through one of the worst situations of my life. I went with Mark after reading so many good reviews and was not disappointed. He is very professional and gives you an honest opinion of your case. No sugar coating of what to expect and then delivers it. He has a fantastic staff who are knowledgeable and guide you through the process. Mark will keep you updated with all the information of the case progress through emails and is very thorough. I will not hesitate to refer him to anyone who needs his service.

Mark stepped in mid-stream to handle my second DUI case after I had to fire my previous lawyer for utter incompetence and unresponsiveness (see my negative review of Robert Tayac). Mark was exactly what I was looking for in a lawyer: knowledgeable about the law and the courts, friendly with relevant court personnel (in a way that benefited me), clear in explaining my options and potential outcomes, and affordable.
He began by working through many of the mistakes left by my previous lawyer and getting important court dates on calendar. He knew that I was frustrated with the process, so he put in extra time to help me understand exactly what was happening and what actions were available to me.
In court, he was clearly familiar with the judges and prosecutors, and was able to use those positive relationships to explore settlement possibilities that would meet my needs while saving me the time and expense of going to trial.
I was very pleased with his handling of a difficult situation, and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking representation in a DUI case.

Although I won't get into detail about my circumstances as to why I reached out to Mark Blair, he was by far the best investment that I could have made at that time. Immediately after my encounter with the law, I wanted help but more importantly, an expert who could break down everything from A-Z in laymen's terms. Mr. Blair was all that and more. I did ample research online and came across Mr. Blair as being highly qualified with an impressive track record from his previous clientele. I thought: if he was able to eliminate/reduce the consequences for all of them, he must be able to help our my circumstance. Because compared to repeat offenders, those who had to pay restitution, etc -- I was just a person who made a mistake.
I met with Mr. Blair before hiring him. I drove over an hour to see Mr. Blair when there were countless lawyers conveniently located closer to home (Vallejo to San Mateo). But convenience doesn't necessarily mean the best. Mr. Blair was worth the distance and every penny. On the phone, he was extremely kind and a great listener to my case. In person, he was no different. In addition, he is extremely down-to-earth and made me feel comfortable right off the back. His support staff (Willberg and another fellow) were helpful in answering any technical questions that I had.
After being contracted to Mr. Blair, not once did he leave me astray. He answered every question that I had and promptly too! I would receive an email back in no time. He would break down, analyze, and interpret all the paperwork. He was upfront about what I should expect and what he would aim to achieve. Mark over-delivered.
His expertise on how to lock in your good driver rates and attend classes all helped in my case. Mr. Blair was able to get the multiple charges against me completely eliminated or greatly reduced and for that, I thank you Mr. Blair. Will definitely refer others your way because not only does Mr. Blair care about his clients, he goes above and beyond to get the best results for them.

I will begin by saying that I am glad I made the decision to go with Mark Blair. For my first case I was very doubtful whether a lawyer would make a difference in my situation as I heard mixed thoughts. I knew one other friend with a similar case as mine and he said he was with Mark Blair and was pretty satisfied at the time. Instinctively I called and was greeted by the man himself. I had all my questions answered and I was given time to pick this man's brain of what I could expect as far as results go in my case. Like any other human being I didn't have any idea what to expect and how to go about treating my case by myself, so knowing I had this man by my side really boosted my morale. Court, email correspondences, phone calls, paperwork, and many days later I resolved my first case promptly and trouble-less. It was in no time that I had a second run-in with the law. Right away, I called Mr. Blair again and explained to him what had happened. This time, it was way more complex and probably one of the toughest cases for a lawyer considering the circumstances of this case. I look for people who are straightforward with me and do not cushion the reality to make one feel better, but yet "prepare for the worse, expect the best" out of the situation type of deal. Pricing on this one was quite a bit more than the last one, again considering the circumstances. I was curious to see what others were charging so I made a few phone calls. I was surprised to hear that no one offered a better price, and again I proved to myself that I made the right choice. I was given clear instructions of what I need to do in order to lessen my case sentence. After 3.5 months of following through with my duties and responsibilities, they paid off. I was expecting 60 days of community service, 6 years probation, and upwards of $3,500 as a fine. On the day of court I was assured by Mark Blair that he would do all in his power to convince and persuade the judge that I am a good, self-employed citizen that has made a few mistakes but I have done more to improve than anything else. When he came out after talking to the judge he said I got the best deal he could possibly wish for. 15 days, waived fine ($0) and half the probation time. I am nonetheless extremely satisfied with my results and work done. Thank you for your hard efforts and I will surely recommend you to the next friend in need.
