I was originally arrested for 2 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. Will acted quickly and got the case filed as two misdemeanors, no felonies: a great start! He compiled letters of recommendation and previous performance reviews from my employer and built a solid package to present to the DA. With materials in hand and a convincing personality, Will persuaded the DA to dismiss the case altogether after I completed some community service. I now have nothing on my record and have been given a second chance thanks to Will.
I was involved in a civil harassment case in which, the party accusing me of harassment was not only lying about the situation, he was trying to win the case and use it against me in an on going child custody case that we are both involved in Family Court.
Will, was able to tell me that the burden of proof was on the petitioner and what the law says specifically about my type of case. Will's knowledge of the law, made the difference in this case. He was able to show the holes, expose the lies, and untangle misinformation that the petitioner offered to the Judge. It makes all the difference to have a lawyer who knows the law and explain what your rights are under it and fight for you.
In the end, I won my case! Will listened to me, identified the issues in my case, worked with me and fought for me in court. This is exactly the type of person I want to represent me if I need help. Thank you for your hard work Mr. Bruzzo. You did exactly what you said you would.
My name is Corkye. I am bipolar. In 2005 I had an episode, I drove my car against traffic and hit 9 cars. Thank God nothing happen to anybody but there was substantial property damage. I was arrested and in need of a good attorney. After interviewing several attorneys my family hired Mr. William Bruzzo to represent me. He did an excellent job.
I was charge with assault with a deadly weapon nine times. There were nine felonies that thanks to Mr. Bruzzo the Judge dismissed six of them. I received five years probation and three months time served in jail.
More recently, I hired Mr. Bruzzo to represent me again. I was confident I would win the case because he did such a good job the last time. For this case, Mr. Bruzzo asked me to put together letters from my health care providers who have seen me so I could show the uninterrupted treatment.
On 10/22/2014 Mr. Bruzzo prepared a motion to reduce the felonies to misdemeanors, my doctors wrote letters indicating I was a good patient and that my symptoms are under control and that I had learned how to manage them.
Mr. Bruzzo represented me so well in front of the Judge that after considering all the evidence Mr. Bruzzo gathered he granted me the reduction of the felonies to misdemeanors. I am very happy with the way Mr, Bruzzo represented me that now I have the opportunity to get my life back, I will be able to gain employment and my driver's license.
I am happy to recommend Mr. William Bruzzo to anyone. My family and I are forever grateful for his excellent job.
This was my first time needing an attorney, and Mr. Bruzzo helped make a difficult situation much more bearable. The Police came to my home to investigate a hit and run [Vehicle Code Section 20002(a)] where someone claimed I ran into them with my car. I denied any collision, but the officer said he found some damage on my vehicle consistent with the accident claimed by the victim and I was issued a citation for Vehicle Code Section 20002(a), Hit and Run.
At the time of the incident I was very concerned about having this conviction on my record, feeling that it could effect my career. I hired Mr. Bruzzo to represent me because I saw that he had gotten very good results in many other hit and run cases like mine. Mr. Bruzzo informed me that even a diversion offer from the District Attorney would not be helpful to me because it requires a guilty plea, which is as good as a conviction for many professions.
Mr. Bruzzo made contact with the person who accused me to negotiate a civil compromise, but this person was uncooperative and we were unable to get a civil compromise letter whereby the victim could put in she did not desire prosecution. Despite not having the civil compromise letter, Mr. Bruzzo still managed to get the case dismissed without my pleading guilty when I showed that my insurance company had paid the damages and after I agreed to provide DNA.
Despite the hurdles, Mr. Bruzzo stuck with my case, and helped me get a very satisfactory result. I would enthusiastically recommend Mr. Bruzzo for any similar hit and run, vehicle Code Section 20002(a) matter.
I hired Will Bruzzo to defend me on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats and brandishing a deadly weapon. Every attorney should do his or her best to represent the client. Someone needs to tell Will Bruzzo this, because he seemed to be doing his best to represent the prosecution. His attitude and demeanor toward me was hostile and rude. He did not answer any of my questions.
During the first round of hearings I asked Will Bruzzo what the prosecutor was offering, and he refused to tell me. I told him that I would be willing to plead guilty to a misdemeanor if the sentence were two years or less. Will Bruzzo told me that I was an idiot, and said that I was stupid for considering jail time. He told me that because I am a “white boy” I would be raped and beaten in jail. I am a Marine Corps veteran, well worked-out at 200lbs, and I do not look like or behave like a victim, nor am I afraid of jail. I got along fine with the other inmates when I was in jail, and told him so. What I didn’t want was a felony conviction because I would forever lose my rights including my right to bear arms, but he still refused to answer my question or consider my feelings on the matter. My right to bear arms is important to me, even more so than to other veterans and American citizens because my stepson owns a chain of gun stores, and was about to hire me to manage one of them.
When the court learned that I am a veteran, I was offered Veteran’s Treatment Court pursuant to California Penal Code Section 1170.9. Vet Court sounded like a great option to me because I could plead guilty to the charges and still avoid jail time, and upon completion of the program all charges are dismissed.
I had to discuss it with Will first because Vet Court only takes veterans whose crimes are related in some way to their service. I have PTSD and told Will about the events which occurred during my enlistment that led to my PTSD. Will didn’t believe anything that I said, calling me a liar and telling me that I sounded as if I was “detached from reality.” Thank God Judge Perez, Judge Lindley and the Vet Court team didn’t rely on Will’s opinion! I explained to the Vet Court team what happened to me when I was in the service, and they did a bit of research and confirmed that I was telling the truth. I pled into Vet Court and entered their treatment program.
Even though I am happy to be a part of the Vet Court program, it upsets me that I had to plead guilty to all charges. I am now a convicted felon. Even though the charges will be dismissed, the law specifically states that I will never again be allowed to possess a weapon. I can’t even carry a knife. If Will Bruzzo had done his job and helped me get a deal for a misdemeanor, that wouldn’t have happened and I would still have my rights.
Once the hearings were over and I was accepted into the Veterans Court program, Will Bruzzo approached me with a testimonial he had written (written as if I had written it) that he wanted to put on the Internet. That testimonial made it sound as if Will had saved me from some horrible fate. It was dishonest, and so I told him that I didn’t feel comfortable signing it or letting him use it. He once again became verbally abusive, telling me that I had “buyer’s remorse.” He flung a few insults at me, and I ignored him. I was just happy to finally be rid of Will Bruzzo.
I cannot in good conscience recommend Will Bruzzo as an attorney for anyone who has been charged with a crime. He is verbally abusive to his client. He refuses to answer any questions, choosing instead to fling insults and verbally berate you into complying with his wishes. He writes his own testimonials to make himself sound good. You would be better off with a public defender.
After moving to OC and getting charged with Reckless driving, hit and run, and driving on private property with a suspended license and with my record I figured I would have to shell out for a lawyer and best case scenario not have to serve time. Will Bruzzo came in and not only got all the charges dropped but provided me with a peace of mind through out the entire process. I've never walked out smiling at a court room until I had Bruzzo defending me. The best investment and phone call i've ever made by far was calling Will Bruzzo and knowing that I have a shark defending me not an incompetent attorney. Would recommend to everybody regardless of situation.
I have had Mr. Bruzzo defend me for a possible life sentence he managed to bring it down to two years, plead guilty then he found a hole in a previous case and after all was said and done his liabilty and service was over with but he still brought me back from the prison and reduced my record to one strike and I served 15 months. He is by far the best price most loyal friendly and helpful, I wish all attorney's have the integrity this man has. Thanks to him and his advice I have turned my life around finished school and have hope!
Will Bruzzo did a great job for me! Super confident in trial, strong voice, very professional...i had met with tons of lawyers before hiring Bruzzo and i knew instantly he was right for the job...Glad i hired him, i was innocent from the start and he didnt an awesome job proving that in trial...He got me acquitted of all charges, even the lesser charges when i was being faced with over ten years and felony strikes...Definitely will recommend him...Thanks Will!
Mr Will Bruzzo, is a wonderful attorney , and on the very first meeting, I knew I wanted to hire him. He is not judgmental and absolutely removes ones fears and anxiety through the process. He is very proactive in the case and on top of the game, that is the reason he got my charges totally DROPPED . I was charged for Petty Theft ( Penal Code 484-488)and had admitted to the crime to the police. A conviction or rather a dismissed case would have had a negative impact on my future and especially for my immigration and naturalization purposes. Mr Will, got in touch with the store manager (who got sympathetic to my situation later) and convinced him to tell the DA that he did not wish to pursue the charges. The DA then agreed not to file charges, if i made a donation to a charity . Thus after doing so , the charges were NOT EVEN FILED - this means I never had a formal complaint brought against me and i never had to go to court. That is exactly what one wishes for and for that reason i totally recommend mr Will Bruzzo for any petty theft and criminal matters. His familiarity with the Courts and District Attorney office in Orange county can get one excellent results. He communicates and responds in timely manner and will keep you informed about everything making you always feel you are in safe hands.
I highly recommend Will Bruzzo. I was being charged with a felony assault with a deadly weapon + intent to cause great bodily harm. Although I was acting in self defense, we were dealing with an overzealous and rigid DA. Even though she agreed that I was attacked first, she continued to pursue jail time and a felony strike against me. This was a nightmare that dragged out for almost two years. A big part of this was due to not knowing how to hire a good attorney. This was the first time I had ever been in this type of situation. I wasted a lot of time and money on two previous lawyers who simply went through the motions in the courtroom. Neither of them held my confidence as my case drew closer to a trial. When I finally hired Will, he was able to do what the others couldnt. He got the charges against me lowered to a misdemeanor disturbing the peace. I decided to take the deal rather than prolong the stress and endure the costs associated with a trial. I received probation and no jail time. Let's face it, our legal system is severely flawed. Once you are in it, there are very few people who care about you or your particular situation. You need someone who is familiar with the courts and all its players to help you navigate through the mess. Will was able to get me the best possible deal, so I could walk away and move on with my life. I only wish I had hired him first.
