My case was not an unusual one, I'm sure of that. I had a judgement lien on my house ( old credit card debt) that was going to cause me to lose my home, equity in it or to work something out with my lender to pay off the debt. Somehow the title company put the lien in front of my lender when I did a refi in the 90's. What happened to me in my persuit of a solution was not an unusual occurrence either.
I made numerous calls and received so much misinformation that any sane person would have been tested to remain that way. I was offered a friend of one attorney who offered a hard money loan. Nothing like kicking a person when they are already on their knees. Other attorneys told me flat out that I would lose my home and their were no remedies to remove the lien to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy.
I hired the first attorney who was severely lacking accurate information and expertise in her own field. She did refund the money. The second attorney ended up being as shady as they come. He would call to ask unimportant questions which just ate up my money from the $4000. retainer. He acted like he was scattered to deliberately take more time. He did a lot more than that and kept the whole retainer.
Then I found Norma! She was quick to asses my situation and said that my situation was absolutely a fixable problem. Her expertise was apparent with our first phone conversation. She knows her area of law without a doubt. She was always pleasant and professional. When I called her office, she always was quick to return my calls. My nightmare is over and I thank you Norma!
