I asked Ian Michael Wallach a legal question that he has answered honestly and in details. And, he has generously put it under his first free consultation. He took his time to exchange few emails with me making sure he had all the details about my case and that I understood the answers fully. A great attorney, and a great man.
We found Ian through the recommendation of our friend, a successful civil rights attorney. From the first phone call to the favorable resolution of our case, we felt we were in good hands. Ian gave us sound advice, listened compassionately to our concerns, and was strategic in his handling of the case. Needing to find a good attorney can be a stressful situation to find yourself in, and while Ian's casual approach and confident manner put us at ease, his knowledge of the law and his skill in the courtroom saved us.
I have written/ deleted/ rewritten this review a few times now, trying in previous iterations to be professional, but, to speak from my heart, read the title of this review. I talked to an old lawyer of mine about my case, and he's the kind of guy that won't go out unless he's got on his Armani/ Klein, whatever, and I have never felt very comfortable talking to him. Well, he didn't ask much about my case/ situation, just put down the price and told me to get back to him. I went and saw Ian out of sheer luck finding avvo, and, this guy saved my f**ing life. I was in a position to be looking at a felony, and probably at MINIMUM a very serious misdemeanor, and I walked out of court with neither. Had the case gone any other way, I'd be out of a job/ house/ pretty much done for, and Ian HANDLED it. It's funny 'cause another lawyer mentioned his "surfer demeanor", which, is no joke. The guy is kick back when you're talking to him. I actually was nervous for a second when we first started talking thinking "is he TOO chill?", and then he asked about my case, asked about everything I was upset my other lawyer hadn't asked about, started talking about defenses, and started to prove that yeah, while he doesn't come across as a d***, he is a SERIOUS M******F****** when it comes down to it. Answered all my calls, regardless of the hour , (to a point where I told him "dude, I was just going to leave you a message, you don't have to pick up EVERYtime), but, that's what he does. I ask a s***load of questions, too many probably for most people's liking, but Ian answered every single one of them, usually in less than an hour. When we first met, not 20 minutes into the conversation he told me that this is what he loves to do. I thought "Yeah, if I were a lawyer, I'd say that too". But he wasn't kidding. This man whooped some ass in my defense, and when we stepped out of the courthouse I said "F*** a handshake, bring that s*** in for a hug", and I could seriously see that this is what he LOVES to do; helping out people who maybe just had a bad luck of the draw. Ian, I could never begin to properly pay you back for what you did for me, but, I can thank from the bottom of my heart man. Sincerely. Thank you.
I started working with Ian Wallach in July 2014 on a personal and embarrassing issue involving a close family member.
The first thing I appreciated from Ian was that he understood from our very first interaction how difficult it may be for a client to ask for help while feeling embarrassed and disgraced, so I felt more comfortable to openly discuss the issue. Secondly, Ian was very knowledgeable with the whole process and he was able to foresee what was going to happen in the next view steps of my case. I have no knowledge in the law which was making me feel very vulnerable and uncertain. It became apparent that Ian knew what he was doing and that he would take control in the case. Third, Ian is very passionate in his work and clearly loves what he is doing. In addition to practicing law, I think Ian would also be a suitable academic law professor; he loves talking (and writing) about the law and about cases.
At first I was a little concerned about the fee, since private practice is way more pricy and I was not able to foresee where this was going. However, Ian did an excellent job in bringing my case to a successful completion and looking back I think it was all worth it. I would like to recommend Ian Wallach as an attorney and counselor to anyone!
I highly recommend the services of Ian Michael Wallach to assist with making better legal decisions and guidance throughout your case.
My husband and I hired Ian to represent our son in a case of wrongful imprisonment. Ian kept us informed every step of the way, was quick to respond to our inquiries, and eventually obtained a worthwhile settlement on our son's behalf. I would highly recommend him to represent anyone fighting cases of misconduct by law enforcement.
Last year I was charged with multiple felonies following the death of an employee in an industrial accident. I'd had no previous experience with the criminal justice system and was in a state of panic. I needed a great lawyer and quickly. I was referred to Ian by another attorney who told me he had heard good things about him, but didn't know him personally.
As soon as I met Ian I knew I was in good hands. He walked me through the bewildering and very intimidating booking process and was with me personally through this ordeal. He very quickly got up to speed with my case and was very proactive with the DA's office. He educated me about how the process works and answered all my questions and concerns in a calming, professional manner.
I was facing possible prison time so the stakes couldn't be higher. My future life was literally in his hands. I was very anxious, and I'm sure demanding, but Ian's calm demeanor and confident knowledge of the law was always reassuring. He mastered my case and researched case law that was very beneficial in my final settlement with the DA. A very satisfying outcome that I couldn't have dreamed of at the outset.
Ian is intellectually curious, extremely smart, very hard working and passionate about the law and his clients. His star is rising and he is a good person who really cares for people. I knew he was with me all the way and had my back.
If any of my family or friends was unfortunate enough to need a criminal attorney, I would not hesitate to recommend Ian. Thank you for a great job. I consider you a friend!
Ian Wallach came highly recommended after I was arrested for a DUI involving a car accident. My husband and I sent an email inquiring about his services and he responded immediately, even though it was on the weekend. During our consultation, Ian was forthright, giving us all the different scenarios of what could possibly happen with my case. He did not try to sell his services to us; instead, he provided us with enough information to make a decision that would best fit our situation. Thankfully, we chose to hire him! Not only did he work hard for me, but he was also calming and reassuring. Ian always kept the lines of communication open, and answered all of my concerns. He kept me well informed about the progress of my case, and in the end he was able to stop my DUI from being filed in the court. He sent me to a doctor to get a medical opinion about the state of my condition during the aftermath of the accident. He used this information and sent a letter to the prosecutors requesting a non-filing of my case. His work was stellar, and I have not been charged. I am incredibly grateful to Ian Wallach, and feel extremely blessed that he came recommended to us. I will definitely pass on the recommendation to anyone else who is in a legal situation and needs committed defending.
Ian responded very quickly to a cold call inquiry I had made with respect to a DUI case. I found him forthright, professional, focused and friendly. He went out of his way to steer me in the right direction and provided very helpful, if sobering information. I have dealt with many legal professionals over the years but none has impressed me more than he. I recommend him highly.
Right before Thanksgiving I was the victim of a crime which involved stolen property. I emailed Ian to see what my rights were regarding getting my property returned. To my surprise, he called me immediately (while on his Thanksgiving vacation), asked a few questions, and let me know what my options were. I followed up with another email with additional questions, and he once again responded the same day. Ian has a knowledgeable and friendly demeanor, and quickly put a number of my concerns to rest. Hopefully I never have another situation where I need Mr. Wallach's services, but if I do, I know he is a lawyer I would want on my side.
