My son was in terrible legal trouble and suffering from an addiction to marijuana and prescription medication. He was arrested at the Canadian boarder by Homeland Security with pills and marijuna, he had a two misdemeanors in Oakland County, and a felony and misdemeanor in Livigston County. Even while on bond, my son struggled with staying clean and keeping a job. The outcome: federal prosecutor agreed not to charge, one count in Pontiac dismissed and one under delayed sentence (will be dismissed) and the judge in Howell is giving him HYTA on the felony and misdemeanor. He had 7411 in the past and couldn't get it again. What will happen now? I don't know but thanks to Loren, my son can walk way from all of this with no jail and no convictions. Loren has spent a ton of time talking to my son, giving him advice and helping him make better decisions. He has also spent time meeting with my wife and me, talking to us on the phone and exchanging emails. He has helped us when we felt lost and unable to help our child. Right now, my son is on the right track and getting the help he needs. It's up to him now but he has a chance that he wouldn't have had without Loren. We cannot do enough to express our gratitude. We will continue to pray for our son and have faith that we are now on the right track.
Mr. Dickstein really was a huge help with my case. I was charged with 3 offenses - a felony and two misdermeanors. i was guilty so I just wanted not to go to jail and to pay the money back. It was a huge mistake but I'm not bad person. Not only did Loren keep me out of jail but he also got rid of the felony and one of the misdermeanors. I can go back and ask for an expungement in 5 years. I thought I would lose my job but because I only have a misdemeanor, I didn't get fired. I voted 4 out of 5 stars because I don't know how other lawyers work so I'm not sure if Mr. Dickstein is better than every other criminal lawyer or not but I know he is really amazing and I would only recommend him to a member of my family. He is very direct by the way, not a big fan of chit chat. Thank you, thank you!!
I was in big trouble when I met Loren. I had gotten into a stupor, drew police attention to myself, and then proceeded to err spectacularly on the side of recklessness. It was not my finest hour no matter your moral baseline.
I was arrested and cited for disorderly conduct. At first I thought little of it; pay a fine and move on, no?. That was not how the jurisdictional legal system saw it. Their prosecutor was inclined to punish me severely. I would learn that he held a hard line because I had come precariously close to even stiffer charges.
When you don't remember everything you did before you were arrested for disorderly conduct, you will learn--in certain municipalities--that the charge covers a lot of territory. Scary territory. I had an arraignment date that I couldn't meet and panicky thoughts of my own potentially egregious behavior. All my attempts to have the local authorities clarify the situation came up empty. The best advice I got was, "Plead guilty with the judge by email and _maybe_ they won't issue a bench warrant for your failure to appear."
I was staying with a friend in whom I confided, and they told me to, "Call Loren." Once he and I discussed my case I was relieved. He was straight with me. There are things you can and can't know about how your case will unfold. At the time all I really knew was that my troubles would not be confounded by my inability to show for my arraignment--it was to be postponed--and I was reasonably certain that I would not go to jail thereby losing my job and livelihood. He didn't make promises he couldn't keep.
It got better. When Loren went to bat for me he, as they say, "killed it." His advice to me was straight to the point. He had all the right (honest) answers for the Judge on my behalf, and the result was even rosier than I had hoped. I have seen a few cases like mine turn out sorrily for the defendant, and I know that defendant could have been me if not for Loren Dickstein.
This lawyer did a great job on my case. I was very happy with the result. God forbid I am ever in a jam again, there is no one else I would even consider hiring.
I was falsely accused of a crime. My wife and I were devastated. Loren worked with a cell phone expert, a polygraph examiner and a private investigator and he proved to the prosecutor I was innocent. The case was dismissed. I also had unexpected money problems because a relative had an unanticipated health problem and Loren worked with us on fees. His firm charges an above average fee but they are worth every penny and more. Thank you so much.
Mr. Dickstein is a consummate professional. His entire team is outstanding. After speaking with a number of other attorneys, my family hired Loren. We are all so grateful that they did. Most importantly, he got me a better result than I could have hoped for. His talent and skill have helped bring about a new beginning in my life and it was a real comfort to know that my representation was genuinely concerned, not only about my legal outcome, but about my future beyond the courtroom. Just as important though is how Loren and Colleen and Randy helped my family. Dealing with the courts is possibly the worst experience of my life and was punishingly stressful on my family. Loren and everyone working with him understood that and they were patient, reassuring and compassionate throughout the ordeal. Calls were returned quickly, issues were explained thoroughly and time was taken to make sure that my family and I felt as prepared as possible. I really didn't expect the level of personal care we received. It was a huge blessing in an unimaginably difficult time. No one wants to be in this kind of situation, but if you or someone you love is searching for the right attorney, then you need to call Loren Dickstein.
I was charged with OWI in Macomb County Michigan when I was there on a business trip from Arizona. I found three lawyers over the Internet and talked to all of them on the phone after I got home. Loren gave me the most confidence when I talked to him. I could just tell that he really knew his stuff and that he takes winning personally which is what I wanted. What sealed the deal was a friend of a friend is a judge in Macomb County and she said Loren's firm is well known and respected and that he is a great lawyer. She had not even heard of one of the other lawyers who was claiming to be an insider in Macomb. The third lawyer she said was good but he wasn't a specialist in criminal cases like Loren.
Loren and his team were really great. Colleen is his assistant and she was very helpful to me. Loren always returned calls and emails. They made the case work out so that I only had to come back to Michigan one time, I keep my driver's license and got the OWI charges reduced to something that was better than I expected. I'm also free to travel for work which was the most important thing.
Let's face it, I did a really stupid and irresponsible thing! I had no other record and a life of responsibility so I don't think it was wrong for me to want an outcome on my OWI case like Loren pulled off for me.
I'm very grateful!! Thank you so much.
Loren is a thorough professional. He did not leave any stone unturned in my OWI case to get me my life back. Loren's knowledge of the procedures is so thorough that he would exactly know what his client needs to do to recover from the state in which he/she was charged. Because of his vast knowledge and experience, and also due to sheer grit and tenacity, Loren is the go-to attorney no matter what your charge is. His penchant to win his case also makes him a sought-after lawyer especially when one has lost all hopes. The way he handled my case and obtained the best possible outcome for me, corroborates the fact that he is best suited to handle cases of foreign nationals too with the same degree of effectiveness.
Mr. Dickstein and his partner, Mr. Lewis, represented me on a felony retail fraud case that involved the Troy district and Oakland county courts.
As you'll find out at your initial free consultation with Mr. Dickstein—which you shouldn't even hesitate to take if you're in need of a criminal defense lawyer—he's very good at putting you at ease and instilling a sense of confidence. There's no sales tactic, no nonsense.
He and his partner lived up to this initial impression by getting me an outcome better than what most of the dozen other lawyers I've consulted with before hiring Mr. Dickstein did not even consider in the realm of possibility—indeed, what I believe is the best possible and rarely achieved outcome.
There's a lot more flattery I can offer: his and his partner's obviously close relationship with the District court system, his complete understanding of the possible strategies for handling retail fraud cases, his setting expectations high at the outset. But they're considerations secondary to the simple fact that he secured on my behalf the best possible resolution.
I got involved in a situation that got out of my control. I was charged with a serious crime and my job and family were on the line and I didn't know what to do. I was so confused and called several lawyers. Because I had never been in trouble before, I didn't even know what questions to ask and I didn't know what I should be looking for.
I saw several lawyers with good reviews and knew I wanted to hire someone who was postively thought of by prior clients. The reviews by other lawyers were helpful as well.
I met a couple attorneys but when I met Loren at his office, I immediately felt a sense of comfort that I had not had in weeks. His confidence was obvious and I was finally able to sleep through the night after his firm was retained. I will never forget him telling me, "I will not let you down."
My case is over now and I'm very, very happy with the outcome. Loren and his staff were excellent and words do not adequately express my gratitude.
