My son's case involved possession of marijuana.. Mr. Dickstein was extremely helpful, detailed and accurate when advising and guiding him on what to do immediately prior to his sentencing. I hired Loren Dickstein to represent me recently on a felony retail fraud case in Oakland county. I needed to find a lawyer ASAP that is trustworthy and to help me get out of this mess. Loren was the perfect lawyer for my case. I was facing 5 to 40 years on a drug conspiracy case. Right away, Loren went to work. What was so confusing about the situation is that I was living in Texas, and the case was in the Sourthen District of Michigan (Federal). Attorney Loren informed me that under the "Safe Haven Program" my sentence could could be taken under the manditory minium of 5 years, and that the prosecutor wanted a sentence of 37 months. Loren reviewed the facts and put together my case with actually very little effort from me. I had phone issues and I was really depressed at the time due to my situation. Never the less, Loren continued to do his job, trying to communicate the information from the court to me as best he could. He waved the trial and I took the plea agreement of 37 months that the prosecutor recommended. Loren informed me that the judge could go over or under the sentence that the DA wanted to give me. In court he went to battle for me, and the judge sentenced me to 1 day ( with time sevred ) and 3 years of probation! Mr. Dickstein was a blessing fron God for me, considering he was my Court appointed attorney! If you decide to take Loren Dickstein as your attorney you have made a great decision!

Lauren Dickstein, basically saved my life. I had a probation violation for using drugs, and Lauren was very knowladgeable about the disease of addiction, and mental illness. I have never seen a lawyer more prepared and on point during a hearing. If it wasnt for Mr.Dickstein I would be in prisin for3-15 years. Instead my probation was reinstated.

I've been in my fair share of legal issues throughout my younger years and have used just about everyone of them [lawyers] from the area and they all seemed to be the same "pay me" and then they don't care about the out come .... So I hired Loren to help me get my license back after a 2nd dui in michigan; when I moved to south Florida I still needed a license so I figured I'll try a "Lawyer" and not another "empty suit" other lawyers told me I would have to fly to michigan to win in front of a review board and Loren said that we can just mail the paper work to the state and I wont have to take time away from my life in florida .... I never felt i wasted a dime with loren he always updated me and had enough confidence for me and him sure enough he called me personally and told me "you won" just like that when others said it was going to be this and that blah blah .... Believe the reviews! Loren is exceptionally professional, very bright, a tough negotiator, patient and responsive. He negotiated a misdemeanor charge brought by a vindictive detective down to a trivial civil offense. In the process, he saved me $5000 I would have wasted for an expert witness. I interact with attorneys all of the time in my professional life, but I will keep Loren's number with me at all times... just in case I run into a similar situation. Thanks Loren!

I hired Loren on the recommendation of a deputy at the jail. He said he was known to be a real good lawyer. I met with 3 criminal lawyers but hired Loren after meeting him. He was the most knowledgable and confident. I did really good on the outcome of my case and Loren never did give up fighting for me. I have a record but never felt that Loren judged me. He was very good to talk to and he is very smart. I would definitely use him again but I don't plan to need a criminal lawyer again now that I got another chane.

Going into my case, I knew that it wasn't guaranteed that I would end up with the result I was looking for. That said, I still believe that the service I received was lacking and the money spent excessive.

My case was an attempt to set aside a conviction for a domestic violence charge that occurred 15 years ago. For this service, I paid $3,000 up front. I recently spoke to another attorney that couldn't believe that I would be charged so much for something that required so little work.

The next problem was with communication. I only received updates when I solicited them. Weeks and sometimes months went by without hearing any updates. Of course it can be said that there was nothing to update me on but in my opinion, the communication was lacking.

After many months, I received an email from Mr Dickstein saying that he had finally spoken to the prosecutor and she would not agree to setting aside the conviction.

In my opinion, I spent $3,000 and waited many months for Mr Dickstein to have a telephone conversation. There was also a motion drafted and a criminal records request (I paid cost of the records request), but overall, I believe (as did at least one other attorney) that the cost was excessive.

Loren is amazing. I was being investigated for fraud and he represented me on a pre-charge basis. In other words he was hired to prevent me from being charged or, if I was going to be charged, to try and make sure it was a misdemeanor. Loren promisedhe would do his best and he did exactly what he said. I remember him telling me, "the best defense is a good offense." He was right. I am not being charged and I'm settling the dispute civilly. Loren and his partner Randy said they couldn't guaratee any particular result and i appreciated that honesty. Other lawyers promised I wouln't be charged if I hired them but I knew that it was just a sales job. As a result of his hard work, I'm not going to jail and I'm saving a lot of money in legal fees.

I hired Loren to answer some legal questions about criminal law, advise me on exercising my Ffth Amendment rights in a divorce case and look into some issues for me. He did a great job at a fair price. He is very smart but not arrogant. Always returned my calls and was very patient. He helped where he could and was honest about what he couldn't do. Could have gotten away with charging me more money but didn't. I really respect him.

Mr. Dickstein is my lawyer. I was referred to him by my uncle. I was on probation in Macomb County and my probation was violated. The judge said I was going to jail so I had to hire an attorney. He is very aggressive and did a great job on my case. I was being prosecuted for embezzlement from my employer. My plan was just to plead guilty and throw myself upon the mercy of the court and I wanted to hire a lawyer to help me get a better sentence. Mr. Dickstein took a different approach and told the prosecutor that we were going to trial if I didn’t get a plea bargain. Since I did it, I didn’t think that was going to work too well but I believed in him. At the pretrial in circuit court, the prosecutor offered a misdemeanor and now I don’t have a felony record. I truly never thought that would happen. If it hadn’t been for his preparation, legal knowledge, and reputation in that court, I believe I would not have gotten a plea deal. In truth, I think the prosecutor just didn’t want to go up against him in trial even though it was a strong case but I don’t know that. I hired Loren Dickstein to represent me on an OUIL case about a year ago. I blew a .09. He went to trial in the Ferndale District Court and got a not guilty verdict. He was very professional, he treated me with respect and he was nice to me. I hired Loren Dickstein to help me get my driver license back. I lost my license because of more than one OWI conviction. He is a great lawyer. I was charged with OWI third offense which is a felony and I was looking at a lot of jail time, and losing my job. He filed a motion to dismiss the charges and proved that the police officer lied about my driving. The judge ruled that the stop was illegal and he dismissed the case. Needless to say, the prosecutor went crazy. I don't think any other lawyer would have fought so hard for me.

A CPS worker put me on the child abuse registry with the State of Michigan. I hired Mr. Dickstein to take over my case from another attorney. My wife, who is also a lawyer, was also put on the registry and she had her own attorney. Mr. Dickstein took the lead and my wife's lawyer just copied everything he did. He got the case going in my favor and, after a brief meeting at CPS, they decided not to fight Mr. Dickstein any more and just dismissed me off the registry. A year later, I was charged in a separate case with resisting and obstructing the police and he got that dismissed.

He wasn't afraid of the prosecutor or the judge (who everyone said was the toughest in Oakland County - Andrews, I think). We went to jury trial and the prosecutor offered me a misdemeanor. I refused because I was innocent. We took the verdict...not guilty. I never had a doubt because he was fighing with everything he had and he had all the witnesses and evidence lined up. I refer him everyone I know and I only hear good things. He saved my life and that of my family.
