Review of Vic Carmody and His Law Firm

As a former police officer in the Jackson Metropolitan area I was well aware of Mr. Carmody's reputation. I had seen him in court several times and was very impressed with how he handled himself and his cases. Therefore when I was charged with DUI I did not even debate who I would retain to represent me. Also I would like it to be known that Mr. Carmody himself was a Jackson Police Officer reaching the rank of Lieutenant in a very short time. He was also an officer in the reserve components of the the Army. Another important aspect to me was the fact that he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. As I said earlier, all of the above considered, retaining Vic Carmody was a no-brainer as far as I was concerned. Therefore the day after I was charged I immediately called his law office. The administrative assistant that answered the phone was very helpful and was very aware of the urgency involved. She immediately scheduled me an appointment to meet with Mr. Carmody. I met with him ASAP and he required that I complete a very detailed package. What impressed me most about him was the fact that he presented me with several options for representation and payment of legal fees that made retaining him a possibility. Without getting to personal with the agreement between Vic Carmody and I, he provided me with flexible options that made what would have been impossible to retain him possible. You can imagine that an attorney with the reputation of Mr. Carmody would be extremely busy and almost impossible to contact. Not only was this not true but to remedy his busy schedule, I was assigned a legal assistant who I was able to contact anytime with any questions or concerns. It made the line of communication between me and Mr. Carmody very accommodating. Therefore it goes without saying that his preparation outside and prior to court is unparalleled. As a former police officer and someone who now works with attorneys on a regular basis, his organizational skills and attention to detail set the bar. During the course of my case, I appeared in court with Mr. Carmody twice. His presence in court mirrors his attention to detail and is a direct product of his preparation. Both appearances resulted in rulings in my favor, in the first appearance he used a little known law to obtain a ruling in my favor. The second one of course ended with a not guilty verdict. His knowledge and legal representation didn't end there. Before he left the courtroom he used his knowledge and expertise to arrange things that I hadn't even considered. As you could imagine, I can't recommend this attorney enough. Although I have been in the same courtroom with him several times throughout my professional career, I could only begin to appreciate the reputation he has built by witnessing him and his services first hand. I recommend Vic Carmody without reservation. Also, I would like to thank you Mr. Carmody for going above and beyond to assist me in getting the verdict I deserved. NOT GUILTY!!!!!!

After 10 months, two lawyers, and an expert witness later I finally heard the NOT GUILTY! Mr. Carmody is very knowledgeable and extremely thorough with his cases. I guarantee he will leave no stone unturned. You will probably wonder if all of the money is going to be worth it, but I promise the moment you hear the NOT GUILTY it will have been worth every penny! Barbara was also extremely helpful and kept me informed during the process. Aaron was also very helpful with the expungement process.

Mr.Carmody as well as his highly trained staff are the finest lawfirm you will find in the state of Mississippi.Professionalism is an understatement.No one wants to have to appear in court at anytime,but if finding yourself in such a predicament I would highly recommend and advise to contact and consult with them first.His expertise,knowlege and experience places him well above anyone.Thank you Mr Carmody for being there when I needed you!

Mr. Carmody is expensive, but well worth every dollar. I used his firm for three cases, all with a positive result. I recommend him highly.

In the spring of 2012, I was charged with DUI refusal and DUI, first offense, in a Mississippi municipality. Mr. Carmody thoroughly reviewed and prepared my case, including employing an expert witness on my behalf. I felt confident we would have prevailed if a trial was required. However, at both hearings (the Refusal and the DUI, first offense) Mr. Carmody recognized that my civil rights had not been protected. Mr. Carmody is well aware that our forefathers fought and died for our constitutional rights - he takes those issues seriously and has great knowledge in that regard. Because of his expertise, Mr. Carmody was successful in having both cases dismissed without having to go to trial. I am a retired attorney so I knew how to select a good lawyer. Very few lawyers would have accomplished what Mr. Carmody did in my cases. Mr. Carmody is highly competent, very tenacious and cares about his clients. He told me he "had my back" and he did.

After being charged with a DUI, I was convinced that not only my 13 year Military career was over, but also any prospect of a professional career. From the first moment I spoke to him, his professional demeanor and calm, collected voice filled me with confidence. He and his staff constantly kept me updated every step of the way. During my five minute trial, I literally did not have to say a single word. Due to his extensive preparation before hand, I was found not guilty. Additionally, Mr. Carmody assisted me with having all traces of this incident expunged from my record. To any Military personnel who is charged with a DUI, I HIGHLY recommend you hire Mr. Carmody as your attorney. He will not fail you.

Upon meeting Mr. Carmody and his staff I was hesitant to decide whether to hire the "Bulldog" (Vic) himself or one of the associate attorneys Mr. Lance Mixon. There was no doubt that I was in the right law firm; both were very competent. It was simply a decision based on the over-all cost involved. But, when it came to the seriousness of this D.U.I. on my specific situation, I wanted the best representation I could get. And after going through this process for the past 9 months, I have to say that Victor Carmody absolutely blew me away! His knowledge & experience, professionalism & complete understanding of the specifics of my situation, incredible attention to detail, and over-all effectiveness in the court room is bar none to any other attorney I have hired in the past and personally worth every penny! It was a job well done. Upon being arrested I refused the alcohol breath test and knew I would lose my license for 90 days but Vic had such a presence in the court room and understanding of the details of my situation that he found a way for me to keep my license and the breath test refusal was dismissed! Unbelievable! At the point we went back to court, Vic had the previous court transcripts and another case referencing where a breath test was refusal was not submittable based on certain findings so the judge ruled that there wasn't enough evidence to try my case at all. I never even had to take the stand or testify to what happened. The arresting officer and the county prosecutors were clearly out-matched and out-witted the whole way through! It was really something to witness. Now no one wants to have to go through it but if you find yourself in trouble with a D.U.I. and want to give yourself the best shot, you owe it to yourself to hire Vic Carmody or one of his other attorneys. He and his staff are the best in the business!!! Hands down!!!!

Mr. Carmody and his legal team have been absolutely amazing in the handling of our case. My husband's DUI in August 2010 was unexpected, and we agreed that fighting it was our only option. Friends recommended an expert in the field, and an internet search proved "Mad Dog" Carmody to be considered THE legal authority on DUI/DWI in Mississippi. After our initial telephone consultation, we became clients. Never having experienced anything of this sort before this, I was fearful we would overlook an important detail or skip a vital step in the process of our defense. I shouldn't have worried because Mr. Carmody' s assistant was available by phone and email to answer any and all questons quickly, efficiently and in language we could understand - not a lot of 'legal-ese'! There were many postponements along the way and the entire process stretched over two years, but when our day in court finally came, Mr. Carmody was indeed on top of things.He was there well-prepared and he saw that we were also well=prepared and ready for this. The entire team worked diligently to assure us that they were on top of things, and because we were NOT familiar with laws concerning this, it gave both my husband and I great peace of mind to have a legal expert in our corner. And it was that expertise and acute understanding of the law that resulted in our hearing the judge declare that this "case is dismissed!" We could not have been more pleased with our experience with Victor Carmody and his entire staff, and both my husband and I would gladly recommend them to anyone who may be facing this same legal battle. He's not cheap - but sometimes you get what you pay for!

I had an excellent experience with Victor Carmody and his staff, who I hired for DUI defense in Mississippi. I am a young professional employed in a field where a DUI is career threatening, and Mr. Carmody was very helpful calming me down after the arrest. They were responsive and accommodating to my situation. For instance, there was a unique aspect to my case in regards to discovery that I asked him to look into. He went out of his way to make sure this issue was resolved promptly. Also, as I am not a resident of Mississippi, his staff was incredibly helpful in working with the court to find a trial date that worked with my busy schedule. In addition, his knowledge and assistance with the technical and legal aspects of the case were invaluable. His office was truly full service and handled everything. All I had to do was show up at court at the assigned time. Mr. Carmody turned things completely around for me and I cannot thank him enough for that. I highly recommend Mr. Carmody for DUI defense.

I was charged with DUI 1st, leaving the scene, and no proof of insurance. Not only did Mr. Carmody keep me driving but got all the charges dismissed. His staff was always helpful with all of my questions. I would highly recommend Mr. Carmody to anyone in need of DUI defense.
