he lead me and my family on. he sounded good at first but took $10000 and invested no time and no effort. I had to hire another attorney close to trial and cost me another $10000, I asked mr barton for a refund because he promised to take it to trial and didn't an gave me no refund. I almost went to prison for 18 years because of mr bartons slack lazy work ethic

My experience with Mr.Barton's representation was nothing but positive. He was honest with me about everything from the very beginning. He did not make any false pretense that he could "get me out of" my charge. He told me the positves and possiblilities in my situation. In the end his analysis was very accurate, and my case ended as positively as I could hope that it would. I retained Mr. Barton for a DUI case in Henry County (one of the more strict counties). I spoke with Mr. Barton over the phone first and by the end of the call he gave me the impression he was on the case. I saw no reason to look elsewhere. My next meeting was in person and his assistant Cindy was very polite and helpful the whole through this whole ordeal. While going over the facts in the meeting with Mr. Barton was busy scribbling notes and I could almost see the wheels turning in his head. I was confident in my choice of representation.. I have had the need for attorneys on several matters. Mr Barton took the time to inform me of all my options in detail. I have used Tom on two occasions in the past. My daughter and son both had traffic offenses. Tom first represented my daughter and then my son. He was professional and very knowledgeable about the law applicable to my children's cases. Tom's experience was apparent as I saw him in the courtroom presenting these cases to the prosecutor and the judge. I have since recommended Tom to a personal friend who's occupation requires a lot of driving. Tom helped him save his license. Mr. Barton is a lazy, un organized attorney. He has a set rate due before the actual case is heard, I believe this is because if you were to see him in action you would be likley not to retain him as your lawyer and find help somewhere else and also because he puts little time into his cases that if he were to be paid hourly he would make very little monatarily. Mr. Barton also is lacking in a professional demeanor....i.e; late, forgetful, un-organized. I would suggest not hiring him unless your are comfortable with pleas and micro managing.
