About Me

I have been a trial lawyer for the past 19 years advocating on behalf of people facing some of the most challenging times of their lives.  I treat my clients, first and foremost, the way that I would like to be treated.

My initial consultations often go significantly over an hour because I think it is rude and insensitive to be looking at a clock when people are baring their souls to you about difficult situations.

I work hard to work out a reasonable settlement of my clients' issues, if at all possible, but if I am unable to amicably reach a resulution out of Court, I have absolutely no problem suiting up and wading in to trial to fight for my clients.

I give 110 percent as I would expect nothing less from a person I was paying to represent me.

  • Charles Vincent Crowe

As his associate attorney, I have seen how Sumner handles client matters both inside and outside of the courtroom. Sumner is at all times prepared, organized, and articulate. His advocacy skills are second to none and he places his clients' interests above all else. For these reasons, I consider Sumner one of the most effective attorneys in the state of Georgia.

  • Christine Anne Koehler

Sumner is the perfect domestic attorney for you if you want someone to protect you and those that you love when you find yourself in a marriage that is dissolving or in a situation where a prior divorce order is no longer feasible because of a change in job situations, child custody matters, etc. He is a straight shooter who will not create litigation to run up large legal bills. He will not create an environment that will not allow you to co-parent with your former spouse in the future. If more divorce lawyers handled themselves like Sumner does, many families, even dissolved ones, would benefit. I highly recommend Sumner's services and not just because he is my law partner.
