I always felt like I was his only client, he always answered my e-mails and phone calls himself and I just found that so amazing. The personal attention was number one. I was charged with a serious driving offense in Bridgewater NJ by an over zealous police officer. Recently was in a tough situation when I was arrested in Bermuda while on holiday for marijuana possession. I only had NY permit driving in NJ and got into an accident. Got unlicensed driver and careless driving ticket. I was so afraid to get my license suspended.But the attorney successfully negotiate my ticket down to an expired driver license ticket. I had 3 summons: 2c:28-4b(1), 2c:33-2a(2) & 2C:35-10.5A(3).

The summons 2c:28-4b(1) & 2c:33-2a(2) each carried 6 months in jail and $1000 fine.

The summon for 2C:35-10.5A(3) was the gorilla, though. The summon carried a fine of up to $200,000 and a year in jail.

I was in a lot of trouble, and I wasn't helping him either! I had demands that made this more challenging than it needed to be: I was a bestman in my brothers wedding, and my court date fell on his wedding. I was also moving that month, so I needed to wrap up my case quickly.

It was a mess.

I was scared, confused and I really didn't know what to do. I knew I needed a good lawyer, though. I am addicted to reviews, so I did my research on Hoboken attorneys and came across Thomas Blauvelt.

Thomas is my hero. He is endlessly passionate about his clients and to say that he changed my life is an understatement.

First off, Thomas was able to reschedule my court date so I could attend my brothers wedding.

Second, and likely the most important, Thomas was able to get my 2C:35-10.5A(3) completely dismissed!

By the time I got in trouble with the law, a DWI offence, I was confused and afraid of what was going to happen with me. I then scheduled a free consultation with Mr. Thomas Carroll Blauvelt. He immediately stroked me by his positive view of my case. In that first meeting he already started to ask me questions about how the police handled my case and how my breath test was taken. He could readily spot flaws in the breath analysis procedure only from what I said. Very important, he was not judgmental about what I did wrong with the law. So I feel quite comfortable exposing my case to him. Suffice to say that I hired him on spot and felt secure that I was being strongly defended.

My case pointed to a 7 to 9 months suspension of my driver’s license, but Mr. Blauvelt always kept the positive perspective that my penalties could be ameliorated. My son had gotten himself into a very bad situation. Through a variety of offenses, small and large, he was facing up to three years of a suspended license, thousands in fines and perhaps a small bit of jail time.

The events that led to this occurred in more than five municipalities. So Thomas Blauvelt, Esq. had to deal with those plus the MVC (on multiple occasions). It was a delicate process because he had to return to first return to a court and re-open a case that had been decided against my son; he had to make sure that the courts were heard in the proper order (i.e., he had to make sure that one of the courts reinstated my son's drivers license before going to the next hearing at another court - otherwise he wouldn't get the favorable decision we were looking for).

What was/is remarkable is that Thomas saw the entire layout of what had to happen during my first call with him. The proposed suspension arose out of a guilty plea to illegal possession of another person's license in New York State. Tom was an excellent strategist, advising us of the steps we needed both with respect to the New York judgment and otherwise to have the proposed suspension dismissed without a hearing. He also made sure that the information supporting the dismissal was promptly brought to the attention of the State of New Jersy.

I was previously charged with a DWI and with my breathalyzer results I was going to receive 12 months of license suspension along with the hassle of installing an expensive breathalyzer engine initiator into my car. Thomas C. Blauvelt handled my DUI case with the highest degree of professionalism. Thomas understood the severity of my case and immediately requested a meeting to make me aware of the severity of the charges and the consequences for me. Thomas had a clear understanding of all of the laws pertaining to the matter and immediately noticed discrepancies in the machines that tested me for the DUI and the time required of 20 minutes monitored before and between tests that was required by law. I was ticketed for 98mph in a 65mph zone on 287S. That equates to a 5 point violation and a $250 fine. I did some research and found out my license could be suspended because the speed was excessive. For someone with a 60+ mile commute and no other options than myself that would pretty much sink me. I enlisted Mr. Blauvelt and he was able to get my fine reduced to 0 points on the condition I complete a 6 hour online safety course (30 bucks). It was worth the money all around - instead of a 60 day suspension and 5 points I'm going to end up with 0 points and all it will cost me is a modest cash investment and 6 hours of my time. On my way in to first day of work at a new job, I had a minor accident on Route 22 in NJ. I pulled over and made sure other driver was okay and shared insurance info with the other driver.
