When typing the transcript for a hearing that took place with Matthew R. King presiding as Judge Pro Tem, I was impressed by a ready delivery of details pertaining to the law and his certain knowledgeability. The hearing did not go well for me and I am unhappy about this, but I understand that he... decided correctly according to the law, though it took some time and the text of his Order Denying Petitioner's Motion to Reconsider for me to properly register how the system goes. Listening to the recording, Judge King came across as considerate and generous in his explanation, and he sounded intelligent and informed. Really, it is saying something that a disappointed person whose petition was denied came away with a sense for the judge's integrity. So even though I was not a client such like whose review is gathered for this consumer resource, I thought would put in a good word, and chose ratings according my atypical and brief encounter.

After two years on this case, Mr. King could not even get the facts straight before the Appeals Court. He was disastrous on cross examination, failing to ask the witness more than a single question even after prompting by client. Poor advice, and minimal knowledge of the specific area of law. Althoug...h we offered more than the complainent asked in settlement two days after the event, the case was so badly mishandled that it has cost us more than 20 times the amount in question. Do not use this attorney under any circumstances.

I would like to express my appreciation for all good advice I got from Matthew King. He could not take my case because it was small claim but he walked me through all steps I needed to do to succeed. Good knowledge of legal area. Responsive to court deadlines. Often hard to get hold of but that is because he is busy (often in court). This is a good thing - it means he is very experienced in court protocol. Best advice is schedule time with his secretary for even something as simple as a phone c...all.
