A truly excellent attorney in the area of Landlord-Tenant Law

My wife and I sought Ed's help while we were having issues with our landlord not making proper repairs for some fairly serious issues. When we first got in contact with Ed, we weren't sure what our options were, and were very anxious at the prospect of continuing to suffer through an uncomfortable an...d potentially unhealthy living situation while repairs dragged on. On our first phone consultation, Ed put our minds at ease by laying out our options and making a few suggestions about how we could proceed. His initial reaction was not to ask us to sign a retainer or file a lawsuit, but rather to help us hopefully resolve the issue on our own. Unfortunately, we were unable to make traction with our landlord on our own, and got back in touch with Ed. He set clear expectations of how things would likely progress, and started fighting on our behalf. Every step of the way, he was a staunch advocate, but direct with us when he thought we should compromise. In the end, we were able to reach a settlement without filing a lawsuit. I don't believe we would've been able to do it without Ed's help, and wholeheartedly would recommend him to anyone in need of a great attorney.

Reliable, concise, and generous

When you live in Boston one gets accustomed to mean spirited people. Ed Rice proved to be an exception as he is one of the most kind people I have come across yet. He offered to write a letter to my landlords who were withholding money from me. He set me at ease with this annoying issue, providing cl...ear courses of action. Ed checked in with me frequently to see if there was any progress. Thanks to Ed writing a letter and contacting my previous landlords I have now received the majority of my money back. This preliminary process Ed provided was offered to me for free! I am still amazed I came across this man, his generosity continues to inspire me to do the same for others.

Incredibly helpful

Ed is to-the-point and incredibly helpful. He immediately identified the situation I was in with a landlord, and very clearly recommended what to do. He also was a deep relief as I was concerned about the situation, and offered to help immediately down the road if I ran into any other issues. An amaz...ing attorney, call him if you ever need help.

Landlord/ Tenant eviction case

As a landlord, Edward Rice gave us helpful advice on how we could proceed in the court case with our tenant. I found him to be knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Attorney Rice -thank you , your guidance and time is very much appreciated.

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable

Ed talked me through the realities of my case and the potential outcomes with the specific court. He was empathetic and an excellent communicator. I strongly recommend him.
