Highly Recommend

I can't recommend Ms. Lyttle enough. It is very important to hire an experienced attorney that will always be your advocate and this is what Ms. Lyttle was for me. She was actually the second attorney that I hired for my divorce after months and months of frustrating lack of progress and money spent ...with my first attorney (who was well known and came "highly recommended"). She quickly, efficiently and equitably got my case taken care of. In many ways she saved me during a very difficult period for me. I'll always appreciate her for this!

Got the results; however, horrible experience

I do want to give an open and honest review on Daniella and hopefully my one star review does not seem like it was based on emotion. Daniella is very knowledgeable and gave excellent advice regarding the immigration process so I would definitely give her 5 stars in those regards. The overall issue ...is that once you sign the contract, she makes you feel like a burden and, as somebody who is paying close to $4k, I would expect to be treated with some level of decency. The first issue was that she sent us an email after business hours saying that she could not make our immigration interview 8 business days before because of a scheduling conflict. We let Daniella know the interview date weeks in advance and, my expectation is that if there was a scheduling conflict, she should have let us know as soon as possible and preferably over the phone (not through email after business hours when we could not respond back.) I called the next day and spoke to her assistant and tried to find out why weren't notified about the scheduling conflict and she was confrontational and told me that Daniella "could not be in two places at once". I do have a rudimentary understanding of physics so I know a person could not be in two places at the same time; however, a 5 minute phone call after paying close to $4 is not asking for much. Daniella gave me a call the next day and explained to me why there scheduling conflict - she took ownership and apologized which was definite plus and I had to a chance to explain to her that my expectation was that she was going to be there - anybody could do the paperwork (and the paperwork her firm submitted had errors) but the ~$4k was really so that she could be present at the interview. She then said that she was paying out of pocket for a substitute attorney and made it seem like she was the one that was sacrificing. While do empathize with the money she had to pay a substitute....she was the one that had the scheduling conflict, not me. She then went on to say that she did not want go in a "circular argument" which was puzzling because I spoke for a few minutes and then I listened the rest of the time. Fast forward, the substitute lawyer was awesome (her name is Ophelia Enamorado and highly recommend her), we passed the interview and I took the high road and sent an email thanking everybody. (Daniella immediately asked for a 5 star review on Google which I was going to give her since we got the result we wanted and I was willing to overlook the aforementioned issues.) We got the green card and unfortunately my wife's name was not changed even though we requested it during the interview. I asked Daniella what recourse we have and we also found out that we could have changed her name in the paperwork (485) prior to submitting. She responded by saying that she would not recommend changing my wife's name because, and this is verbatim, "We don’t assume women will change their last name unless we are asked to do so as it is no longer such common practice for women to do so" - implying that I was sexist. Wow. Final straw. She told us during prep 3 days before our interview that my wife could request to change her name during the interview - I'm not sure how that's different from her telling us that changing her name was an option on our paperwork.

Highly recommend Daniella

My case is regarding divorce and custody and so far Daniella has been awesome! She's thorough and caring, she fights hard for her clients. If you're in need of a divorce attorney specifically with children, she's definitely somebody to talk to.

EXCELLENT WORK ETHIC

Ms Lyttle and her staff were very professional, yet considerate with respect to the manner they handled my case. At every phase I never felt uncomfortable with my choice of The Lyttle Law Firm.
