Mr Barber is a horrible attorney with zero people skills, zero communication skills. Gets upset and hangs up when you ask questions about your case. Cussed out my g/f for asking him questions and hung up. Did absolutely nothing but get a fingerprint card reinstated. The rest he sat on his thumbs and ...collected my hard earned money for him to basically nothing in a nutshell. He talks the talk when you meet him but he sure can’t walk the walk in crunch time.

Worst lawyer ever payed him to do his job. My husband in jail will try to call him to ask about any updates over the case he will get mad and hang up on him we will ask him to send him paper work from the case he lied and said he did already which he never even did he missed his court dates and didn’...t let us know ahead for sentencing he missed his court so we had to rescheduled the sentencing cause the judge clearly said he had to be here mind you he didn’t tell us that he wasn’t gonna be able to make it to my husbands court again. He didn’t do anything we asked him to do simple things like to send him paper work he will get mad and start arguing with us saying we ain’t appreciating. He never done nothing we asked him to do he’ll just ignore us. Mind you for his 2nd sentencing court date he didn’t even talk for behalf of my husband he didn’t have no words to say to help him with his case and lower the years of his sentencing . Worst lawyer ever and got anger issues and basically payed him for nothing cause he didn’t do a word we said or he said he would do for our family.

I should have listened to my girlfriend when she told me how can a lawyer represent you and never seen your face before. I ask Mr. Barber to represent me with me trying to get my first class fingerprint card, I let him know I did all the leg work previously and I was denied. He promised me he could ...get the job done. He lied. First, I don't think he looked over my case probably because he would have known it wouldn't have worked from the information I gave him. He charged me over $2000 and I did all the work. He didn't even know my name he thought he was talking to two different people, so that lets me know he wasn't even paying attention to my email address. Secondly, I have never spoken to this man over the phone. If I don't email him, I wouldn't hear from him. He texted me a few times to tell me he is confident he can get the job done. I can, you represent someone who you have never seen before or spoken to. I asked him for information about my case to be sent to me and I never heard back from this guy. All he did was put the information I gave him together and a stamp and had me mail them. That's the same thing I did. I would have never given this man my money if he didn't promise me I can get my fingerprint card. I had jobs lined up to get disappointed. The sad part is he told me the same thing the board told me when I tried. I am going to take this terrible lawyer to small claims court. I see if he put in the work, but he didn't. Maybe if he would have paid attention to the work I have already done, he would have known he couldn't get me a first class fingerprint card. This guy don't even know what I look like or sound like. I will never trust a wolf dressed in sheep clothing again. Stay away from this lawyer.

I retained Attorney Barber's services to assist me with a good-cause exception for a fingerprint clearance card through the AZ Board of Fingerprinting. While I was ultimately denied a good-cause exception, it was not for lack of effort or legal skills of Mr. Barber. He took time to get to know me and... understand the complexities of my case. He represented me in filing the initial paperwork to the Board, representing me at the administrative hearing, and filing a reply to the Administrative Law Judge's recommendation. At each stage of the process, Bretton was willing to help and put forth a really good effort to try to get my good-cause exception approved. Unfortunately, I believe Mr. Barber was correct in his assessment of the law as it applied to my case in that the Board should have granted my petition, but we don't live in a perfect world. I think my experience may signal the need for the legislature to take a closer look at which misdemeanor offenses should even be included on the statutory denial list and draft legislation that is fair to petitioners so simple misdemeanors cannot be grounds for denial in the first place. Based on my experience with Bretton Barber, I would not hesitate to recommend him to individuals facing situations that require good-cause exceptions or any other matters related to fingerprint clearance cards.
