Replied last April 10, 2017I am very sorry that the client was unhappy. However, the client, I believe, paid a fee for me to attempt to settle the case and write a counterclaim as part of that strategy. The client in the review states I charged a flat fee for the entire case including litigation. I do not believe this to be true. I believe it was a fee I quoted for the initial phase through settlement. The case was verbally settled by the opposing law firm but unfortunately they had excessive turnover and the new attorney later assigned had no record of our verbal agreement. I did not lose anything from the case. When the case became active again, I informed the client of the situation, and explained that this phase required additional fees. While I was unable to settle the case in favor of my client, whose requirement was that he pay nothing, I do not think his assessment of the case is fair and balanced.
