I seriously doubt I would hire him again

When I first met with Fred I felt he might be a good lawyer from his presentation and his web site. Unfortunately, Fred Stone did not turn out to be that good. He got a healthy retainer and continual "additional" funds. The total for his representation was $16,000.00 give or take a few dollars. W...e had a DMV telephonic hearing with Juneau and Fred was sitting there literally picking at his fingernails and not paying attention to the hearing (the guy chews his fingernails to the numb). Seemed like he was just going thru the motions to get paid. I finally had enough and interrupted the Hearing officer to state a few facts about the situation and suddenly everything shifted entirely to my favor. I did this, I personally and specifically raised a few points as the hearing was almost over, not Fred Stone. We (I) actually won the DMV hearing, based solely on the points I raised, and my license was reinstated. Fred Stone literally seemed a bit surprised that we had won the DMV hearing. As soon as the telephone hearing was over, amid his apparent surprise we had won, he asked for ANOTHER $5,000.00 advance. Next, we went to an evidentiary hearing for the actual Court Hearing and again there was Fred picking at his fingernails. I took the stand and the ADA just went after me in an extreme and aggressive way. Fred didn't object or really seem all that attentive to what was even going on. With a good and focused lawyer, I am confident this case would have been a complete win. Let me wrap this up by saying that ultimately (after a few more hearings and little if any effort by Fred) I said screw this I want a change of plea and I just took the punishment even though I still believe the whole DUI should have been tossed. Being milked for vast amounts of money by a guy who only seemed to pay attention to his fingernails just didn't suit my interests or my bank account. I would really never hire him again or refer him to anyone I liked. If you hire this guy make sure he is over the fingernail chewing issue or you could land in a really bad spot. Grandpa always said: "Focus, Focus, Focus."

Life Changing Represetation

As with any life changing situation an individual faces in there time on this earth I was facing one of them in the form of a possible Dwi and Refusal charge this past June in the lovely (village) of Kodiak. As I was standing on the street in front of Kodiak's finest I contacted a friend whom Fred ha...d represented previously, he afforded me Fred's cell#. Mind you it was approx 11:00pm yet Fred called me back nearly minutes after I left him a message. Immediately following the discussion with him I did what he suggested. I'll cut to the chase. As with anyone facing these life changing circumstances I was assuming the worst. Fred did not sugar coat any facet of the situation and layed out the potential legal representation and the dollar figures for those services. The end result was a mistermeaner charge of recklessness endangerment, no points,no license ramifications, no SR-22, or a lot of the consequences of making a bad decisions. Unbelievable results considering the evidence against me. I would recommend Fred's firm to anyone facing one of these life-changing circumstances as I have to all my close friends. Thank you Fred for a job well done.

What a relief!

I was scared, stressed out and unknowlegable about a potential DUI lingering before me. Mr. Slone got right to work, defending me from every angle. He put me at ease and made sure I had clear understanding throughout the whole process. The prices were fare and the service is unparalleled. I would rec...ommend Fred Slone to anybody who has received a DUI.

Outstanding attorney!

Fred Slone is the choice for a DUI attorney in Anchorage or the Mat Su Valley. This was the advice given to me by a group of lawyer friends of mine. As a commercial airline pilot I was very concerned. They were correct. I could not be more pleased of the service that I received. Mr Slone and his staf...f worked tirelessly and continuously impressed me with the knowledge that he has gained in his thirty plus years of experience. Completely due to Mr Slone my DUI case was ultimately dismissed.

Excellent Service

Fred Slone was an absolute pleasure to work with. I had no idea what I was facing and anxious about the possible outcome from the court system. To make matters more interesting I was an out of state client. From the very beginning Fred and his staff kept me informed of the process and patiently worke...d with me to explain the status of my case. Ultimately, It was under his counsel that my case was dismissed. I would recommend Fred Slone to anyone that was seeking representation in a DUI , DWI, or OUI case. The knowledge and service provided was excellent.

"Excellence is the best descriptor of Fred’s DUI defense experience and ability. I have known Fred for many years, both as an adversary and colleague. I initially met Fred when I was a prosecutor in the Kenai DA’s office. We litigated cases, even shared a jury trial before I re-entered private defense practice. His knowledge and skills in defending DUI cases is top notch. I have referred my own clients to him—and would not hesitate referring a close friend or family member if they found themselves charged with a DUI in the Anchorage/Matsu areas."
