As an attorney with many years of commercial litigation experience I thought my divorce would look similar to the cases I had handled for years. I quickly realized I was pretty lost in a foreign territory with a very different language and customs; until I hired Matt. While there were no children i...n our marriage, my divorce was financially complicated. There were multiple professional businesses to be dealt with, widely varying retirement account balances, differences in age and differences in social security payments. Matt was great at giving me an outline of what was to come, what was important and what was not important, how the law applied to the facts of my divorce, and the likely outcomes if we had to go through a trial. He did a great job of dealing with a very difficult opposing counsel, and keeping me sane in the midst of what at times seemed like craziness. When we went to mediation Matt did a great job of presenting to the mediator things that I did not explain very well. We were able to negotiate a very fair settlement during the mediation. Matt's fees were very fair considering the outcome, and based on what my ex- spouse has said about their fees, Matt's fees to me were less than a third of their fees. Matt simply stayed focused on what was going to make a difference and did not get dragged into unnecessary (and expensive) meaningless skirmishes. I think Matt is a great choice for a more-complicated divorce where analysis and detail, and clear communication, are critical.

I have hired Matt for a complicated divorce case, extremely complicated child custody case, and complicated business case. He has done a great job so far. He is great at business. He is easy to work with. He is very smart guy. He is good at debate in court. He is a very likable lawyer and person in a...nd out of court. I am very happy with his work. He is probably the best lawyer in the area along with Shea. The best way to find a good lawyer is to sit in court and watch them argue. Matt is probably the best I have seen. Matt was very fair about his billing,his knowledge of the law was incredible, He is one of the most HONEST Attorney in the tri-city. Matt had to fix the errors made in my Divorce degree and the CR2A agreement made my attorney in Richland, and my x wife attorney in Pasco AFTER THE DIVORCE WAS OVER. T...he first time, I meet with Matt and told him that both attorney left my x wife retirement account open ,so she could pull all the money out of a community Property account, She did pull $85,555 before the divorce was over, That even her own attorney in Pasco did not disclose to the courts. Matt was in court the next day and put a stop order on that account. Matt save my my part of that retirement, because after the divorce,she moved to Florida and went missing, he had to track her down. Matt work with my x wife retirement account to get the right paper work in to them, to get my share. That, both the divorce attorney never contacted my x retirement account though out the hold divorce to get a balance on the account. I just moved to Pasco before the divorce and I did not know anyone it took 2 attorney, That I hire to mess up my divorce and I wish, I would of found Mathew Purcell and my divorce would not cost over $35,000 plus, what I had to pay Mathew Purcell to fix the other attorney mistakes. I am truly bless for Mathew Purcell and his staff, they were great to work with.

Matt has integrity. Matt is solution-oriented, brilliant, creative and compassionate, and represented me very effectively while also taking into consideration all parties involved - with a strong emphasis on the effects the case would have on my three children. Matt is AMAZING. If there was someth...ing higher than excellent on that scale, I would choose it! My ex's lawyer wanted to instigate; she fueled the fire between my ex and me - which led to more challenges - and more costs. Matt gave me things I could do on my own to cut costs whenever possible. He told me the pros and cons of each battle along the way so I could knowledgeably make choices. For being so young, I was surprised with the vast amount of knowledge he had - especially with the issues pertaining to military law that we had in our case. He was also interested in finding solutions (utilizing the latest technology like apps or software) for my ex and I to work together to co-parent, not just focused on the litigation aspect. He guided me to separate the roller coaster of emotions from the matter at hand as often as possible so that I made decisions that were sound instead of ones based on the feelings of one awful moment or incident. Yet he listened to everything I had to say with compassion and with the conviction to resolve the issue in my best interest - and he really understood that what I wanted most was for my kids to have everything work out in their best interests. Being that my ex is in law enforcement and a military officer, I often just wanted to give in to the bullying from him and his lawyer. And Matt calmly fought for me when I was exhausted from the battle. Today I am a more empowered woman than I ever was during my 22 year marriage, I have completion in my relationship with my ex and my kids are THRIVING! I am truly blessed that I was referred to Matt Purcell.
