My experience with Matt Purcell was horrible. He was unprepared, unskilled and embarrassed me in front of the courts time and time again. He did not bill fairly nor did he treat me with dignity. Replied last October 09, 2017First, if this is one of my clients I would ask you contact me immediately as this is the first I am hearing of any issues like this. I assume you can email me directly since all my clients have direct access to me and my staff so please contact me because this comes at a surprise and shock to me having never seen these complaints prior to today. I can only assume this review is not from a client given that it is from an anonymous person who is likely on the opposing side of one of my cases (or related to or friends with someone I am opposing). Also, if I am embarrassing you, a client, repeatedly in Court then I would question why you would keep me as your attorney "time and time again"... This review is also just like a recent review that AVVO removed because it was found to be a false review. That said, I am happy to address this: All bills are reviewed and often have courtesy discounts applied each and every month; clients are advised if there is a mistake to contact us immediately so we can remedy the situation (they are also told they are never billed for reviewing/discussing bills associated with their case). As to preparation, we take less cases on so that there is more availability for preparation in Court; I stand behind my work product/results and happily would put up our office against anyone in Tri-Cities. As to caring, I chose to practice family law because as a child of a divorce I have seen the direct impact lawyers can have on the system/families; I want to help people. Ask any lawyer who doesn't practice family law if they ever would do it and in almost every case they would answer "never". We do this because we want to help people first and foremost; I do this because I want to assist with bringing healing to what can be a very contentious situation. If parents can't work together in a divorce then only the children suffer; I advise my client's of that everyday. As to truth/ethics in Court, my work product is public record. Please feel free to pull my work product and ask any attorney about how we present our cases in Court.
