In my experience, it is rare that I feel compelled to write a review for someone unless they have done truly exceptional work. This is only the second time I have ever written a review, the first being for a mortgage lender. With that said, I have to say that Matthew Dudley is an extraordinary and ou...tstanding and somewhat miraculous family attorney who has truly gone above and beyond for us. We initially learned about Matthew Dudley through a friend, who had been turned down by him for representation. I was therefore hesitant when we first met, but Mr. Dudley quickly proved to be a no-nonsense attorney who tells the truth and is extremely direct, even to the point of being abrasive at times. He will not sugarcoat anything or act as a therapist, but rather, he will fight for you and your family. My father always told me to hire an attorney that other attorneys fear going up against, and Mr. Dudley fits that description. He is there to represent you and your family to the best of his ability. We hired Matthew Dudley to help us become de facto parents to our great granddaughter, and after a year of working with him, we went to trial. Matthew Dudley is an excellent trial lawyer, with a dynamic approach and a knack for finding and presenting key information that helped us get everything we asked for. He is also very respectful towards opposing counsel, and I believe that his attention to detail and careful preparation were key to our success in court. If you are considering hiring Matthew Dudley as your family attorney, I highly recommend him. He is dedicated to his clients, reasonably priced, and will always fight for you and your family. Just be sure to be honest with him and remember that he hates to repeat himself, so it is important to listen carefully to what he tells you. He will return your calls and emails as needed, although at times it may feel like you have not heard from him in a while - this is simply because there is no need for communication, and it is how he keeps his prices affordable. Fantastic lawyer. Ensures everything is kosher and helps you build the best case possible. When he becomes your lawyer he is there to fight for your cause. You may not like how he wants to do it and what he tells you to do, but he wins cases, listen to him. He is paid to represent you in the cour...t system not coddle you. Stick to the facts. My husband recently hired Matthew Dudley last summer for an interstate custody case against his ex who used our son as a pawn to punish him when she didn’t get her way, along with just not making him go to school and letting him roam freely at 6 years old. Dudley helped us construct a fair parenting ...plan once our son had been in Washington long enough to obtain residency and made the process quick and easy, even when birth mom responded with outrageous demands. I also contracted Dudley’s services in 2015 to establish a parenting plan for my own daughter. I had come out of an abusive relationship and had a hard time speaking up for myself and Dudley’s no-nonsense attitude made me feel secure in my decisions and sure that my controlling ex would meet his match. Dudley has come through for our family time and time again and there’s no one else we could possibly trust with ensuring we have fair rights as parents and what needs to be done will get done as efficiently as possible. We hired Dudley twice because he has represented people in my family, my husbands family, and many of our acquaintances and friends.
