Matthew J Dudley

I contacted Mr. Dudley in December of 2019 when I was still pregnant and he gave me legal advice, in which I did not listen to. I tried to be civil with my ex and do a parenting plan on our own to avoid trial. (I regret this now) I got served a proposed parenting plan from my ex and he was trying to ...take 100% custody of our daughter that he had not seen for months. I contacted Mr. Dudley and hired him. He made me cry a total of 3 times throughout the proceedings. 2 of which were happy tears. The other time he was calling me out for mistakes I have made during the process, and was my own doing. My case will be heard in court again, and I will be calling him back. Mr. Dudley doesn’t have paralegals and the information you give him doesn’t get lost in the office with multiple people. He knows the cases well and delivers results far beyond what I even asked for. He doesn’t care if he ticks off the other side (even the other lawyers) and fights hard and tirelessly for his clients. He even works on the weekends and I’ve spoke with him as late as 8 PM weekdays.

I would only recommend Matthew Dudley if you want to win in Family Court. In May of 2020, I found myself in the unenviable position of needing to file for non-parental custody of my 7 year old grandson after circumstances necessitated that he come live with me. My household is somewhat non-traditiona...l, as I am single and disabled, so you can imagine my concern when I found myself filing for custody. I called Mr. Dudley specifically for trial based upon reviews I read on lawyers' ratings websites like this one, and he did not disappoint. He returned my call the next day, and I hired him. True to the reviews I read, Mr. Dudley did not just tell me what I wanted to hear about our case. He was forward and to the point about case details, and never wasted my time. He kept me in the loop as to what he was doing with the case. He saved me from having to re-file by accelerating the trial date, as new rules that I was not aware of took effect in 2021. Last but not least, he was an absolute bulldog in court. He had a commanding presence during trial that showed me he had done his homework. Matthew Dudley was a consummate professional from start to finish. We got everything we asked for, including full custody. My grandson is safe with me.

Matthew Dudley has represented me on and off in a parenting case over the past few years and I am so grateful for his help as there is no one else I’d rather have represent me! If anyone has anything negative to say about him, it’s because they were the ones going up against him and hate how powerles...s they are against him. My ex was even frustrated because he couldn’t find an attorney willing to take his case after the attorneys figured out they had to go up against Matthew. He also does not just tell you what you want to hear. He tells you like it is and there aren’t any surprises when it comes time to for your hearing. (Aside from the fact that I was totally stunned by how Matthew practically runs the show in the courtroom and is CLEARLY the most powerful voice.) My point is, that if you hire Matthew, you won’t be disappointed one bit. It also doesn’t hurt that his rates are more than likely the best you’ll find as well. Just don’t let you ex hire him before you do!

I first contacted Mr. Dudley well before the divorce proceedings had started. After my first phone consultation we both hoped that my current situation could be resolved peacefully through mediation. However, when it became apparent that would not happen I quickly contacted Mr. Dudley and retained hi...m as my lawyer. From that first interaction I knew he was the right lawyer for me. He is extremely knowledgeable in family court matters and, despite what opposing parties state, he wants a quick and equitable outcome for all involved. With that said, he can be a formidably opponent in the courtroom and can articulate relevant matters with power and conviction. Some may consider him too straight forward or that he is relentless in his approach, but for anyone going through this process whom feel powerless he is exactly the lawyer you need. Mr. Dudley’s expertise is in the courtroom and he quickly showed his prowess in those initial proceedings which took the opposing party by surprise. By far Mr. Dudley is the best choice when it comes to divorce proceedings and will work to achieve agreed upon results. He is also one that will not take advantage of vulnerable individuals. His rates and fees are far less than the quotes that I received from other “professionals.” Some lawyers state they want the best outcome for their clients but charge for every single interaction you have with them from emails, text, phone calls, etc... yet with all those charges they cannot meet the same results Mr. Dudley provides. Hire him, you will not be dissatisfied.

After hiring 2 other attorneys he was the last and the best. In about a 5-year span I had spent thousands of dollars with other law firm and yielded absolutely no results. Shortly after hiring Mr Dudley my case was finally moving forward. I couldn't have asked for better better representation. He is ...very professional straight to the point and does not mess around. He cares for his clients in a manner i had not experienced with other law firms. I cringe at the thought of being on the opposite end of the courtroom when Mr Dudley is present. He knows the law meticulously and gives 100% to his clients. He is the only family law attorney in Spokane that I can wholeheartedly recommend to any friends and family that should need his service.
