Gina Maria Costello

I was looking for a feisty lawyer to represent me in a divorce settlement modification. I had interviewed several other lawyers who basically said "suck it up and pay the original alimony" or "in Washington you are rolling the dice on how the judge will interpret the law". Gina listened to my story,... asked relevant questions and finally said "I'll take your case". It wasn't easy, but Gina found a mediator who helped us reach a new settlement that neither side liked -- in other words, a fair settlement. As with any lawyer money was a concern, but dealing with the case came first and money second.

The best way I can describe her is being a b!tch on a power trip. She does NOT care about your case, you are just a paycheck to her. Neither her nor her staff return emails, phone calls or any other attempt at contact. She does not keep you up to date on your case, at all. The only way I EVER knew w...hat was happening in my case was searching the Spokane Country Court website and finding out what had been filed and when. During my first custody hearing she called my ex by MY last name instead of by theirs, and could not remember my child's name throughout the entire divorce. She showed up almost two hours late to my mediation but still charged me for the time, even though she wasn't there. She also tolld me that if I didn’t give her a ridiculous amount of money that she would not take my case to trial. She made it clear that she just wanted money. I received bills for every email that she read and DIDNT reply to. When I finally got frustrated at her lack of response I said something about it and she yelled at me and threatened to drop me as a client. I'm sorry but I thought your job as an attorney is to represent the person paying you?!?! Not get mad when they call you out on your BS. I spent thousands of dollars on her and have nothing to show for it. I got the same outcome I could have if I had just represented myself. I did not get any justice in my divorce, in fact she didn't even manage to get my back MY OWN belongings that I had proof I paid for. She somehow let it "slip through the cracks" She is so bad, that when a friend of mine went through a divorce and asked who my attorney was I recommended the attorney that MY EX USED instead of her! Thats how awful she is. Any positive feedback on here was 99.9% written by herself or her staff because it is an absolute joke for people to say that she is caring, and excellent with communication. She is not. She is a joke and shouldn't be an attorney. Don't waste your money. Find someone who is gonna care about you and your case and not just how much money you can give to them in the end.

Gina and her entire team are nothing short of fantastic. After going through one AWFUL lawyer, I was referred to Gina Costello. I was extremely hesitant to hire another lawyer for fear that it would turn out as awful as the last. Reluctantly, I went to Gina's office and was more than impressed. I hav...e worked in a law firm in the past and Gina's office was exactly what you could ever hope for in an attorney. She and her team not only helped with my divorce and parenting plan struggles, but they actually helped with the healing and emotional process that goes along with divorce as well. Gina takes an aggressive head on approach and is not afraid to go to court and fight for her clients and for what is right. The rates are fair and match the work that is done. I would refer this firm to anyone going through divorce.

(I only gave 1 star, because you need to give a star. Other than that, she deserves NO STARS) I do not recommend this attorney for anyones family cases. My father was told that Gina Costello had many years of experience, yet she was being beaten in court by a rookie attorney. My dad has been nothi...ng but embarrassed in court and she has not communicated with him at all about any of the information. It's more hard for my father because we reside in California and it's not easy for him to be present in court, yet maybe he would do a better job than she would at her own practice. IF SOMEONE REFERS THIS ATTORNEY TO YOU, DO NOT TAKE THAT ROAD. SEEMS LIKE ALL SHE DOES IS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LETS GO OF THE CASE. "You need an attorney who will not waste your time or charge you money for wasting your time — you need a lawyer who is there for you, and who will represent you skillfully and aggressively. I have been practicing in Spokane, Washington for 10 years, and I know how to keep the state, or your ex-spouse's lawyer, from overpowering you in the legal process. You are not alone." ^That is stated on her website. NOT one word of his paragraph is fact. She has not stood by her word and as an attorney that's the most important thing. **WHEN SHE LEFT ON VACATION SHE DIDNT EVEN VOICE THAT WITH US, INSTEAD WE DIDNT HEAR FROM HER.** UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
