$ 400-500 per hour
I am a trial lawyer practicing criminal defense, personal injury, and civil litigation representing clients throughout Washington. I am relentless in my pursuit of justice and winning every case I take on. Whether that be a 34 hour straight "day" in trial and preparation, being available 24/7/365, or running your case through my mind non stop until we succeed. I love being in courtrooms and trials, and I am competitive and driven to a fault, which I use to my clients' advantage. Any attorney can make proclamations about themself, but results and client testimonials speak the truth, and I have them because I earned them. For as long as I choose to be in this profession, every single client will receive this level of commitment and quality of representation. They should expect no less from their attorney.

Shane is a Godsend!
We hired Shane O'Rourke to represent my son in a criminal defense case. The outcome was everything we hoped for. My son was facing some very heavy drug and gun charges with sentences of up to 60 months or more in prison. With the right guidance from Shane he ended up getting in-patient rehab, extensi...

Unbelievable court appointed
Shane O’Rourke was appointed to me and to say I got probably the worst lawyer ever appointed that was possible is an understatement. Not only did he never call back when left with numerous messages, he never bothered to tell me when he changed my plea agreement, and on top of that he couldn’t even bo...
I have no idea who you are because you chose to leave a completely anonymous “review” with no reference to your charge(s), and you have never contacted me regarding any of the things you claim occurred. As such, the credibility of your review and whether you are even a former client of mine is dubious. While all this makes it more difficult to respond to your claims, I will do so anyway as virtually all of them are implausible at best. First, your general claims about my performance as an attorney are simply inconsistent with my reputation among judges, fellow attorneys, other members of the legal community, my clients, and all of the other people who chose to leave reviews of my services. I will address each of your specific claims in chronological order. - “he never calls back” In eleven years of practicing criminal law I have never failed to return a phone call, and that includes both clients and their family members and friends. This is true even in situations where many attorneys would not call such people back and would be under no obligation to do so. I do. As such, this claim is simply untrue. - “he changed my plea agreement” This is legally impossible. First, I do not make the plea agreements, the prosecutor does. Second, a defendant not only reviews the plea agreement in writing on a plea form prior to pleading guilty, the judge also reads through it with the defendant during the hearing. Again, your claim cannot be true. - “the judge was upset and he was talking to other people and couldn’t sit still.” I have never in eleven years had a judge make such a criticism of me. Again, this is completely out of left field and likely a product of you being upset about something unrelated as this could not have occurred. - “he told me things “could” be imposed” If you actually were a client, it is quite possible you were told things could occur without me knowing for certain. That is because regardless of a plea agreement, a judge makes the final decisions on details of sentencing and attorneys are at times ethically forbidden from guaranteeing a result. So, not telling a defendant exactly how every detail would occur would simply be informing them of what could occur in an ethical fashion. - “he wrote down I had a drug problem that contributed to my case.” This would be demonstrably false. Neither the defendant or the defense attorney writes this down. The Court on its own accord evaluates whether a person has a drug problem that contributes to their offense and the the Court on its own accord makes that finding. If you were a client, perhaps you are upset because the Court identified a problem you did not want to be brought up in court or deal with, but that is the Court’s finding and not mine. - “he spent most time on vacation” This can also be proven to be false. I am available and usually working to some degree almost 24/7/365 even when on vacation. If you were to ask family and friends they would say I work too much. Regardless, I schedule vacations well in advance and never allow them to compromise a case. - “he seems not to care” I will let my client reviews and my reputation speak for itself. If you were a client, which I have no clue if you were, I suspect you have a personal issue causing you to feel this way. - “this man ruined my life” I don’t know what case you’re referring to, but you say it’s a crime. So, the police arrested you, the prosecutor charged you, you say you entered a guilty plea that a judge reviewed with you, and then a judge sentenced you. I am not sure where in that equation a defense attorney could have ruined your life and I especially cannot tell since you’ve never once contacted me or disclosed your identity. Now that I have responded and been able to defend myself against an anonymous critique not based in fact, I do still wish you the best of luck whatever your situation is, and if you truly were a client, I am always happy to talk to a former client.
