Great for military law cases.

Heather helped organize and manage my case with professionalism and also with a more personable approach. She also informed me of things she didn’t feel confident in, but did whatever she could to make things happen. I’m happy she took on my case as nobody else in the area seemed willing or able to a...ssist with it since it fell under military law. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needed help with a military case post separation.

Falsely Accused Child Heather was amazing!!!

Heather was amazing from start to finish! She stood up for what was right when lies were flying from every angle. She calmed my 13 now 14 year old down the whole way and kept him informed. She was a cheerleader for me even when i lost myself a few times. She is fully aware of the stress it puts on fa...mily and she helps as best as she can. She will get the right people to work on your case! If you or a loved one is ever falsely accused of a crime she is the attorney for you. It is a process and a long one at that but she did what she needed to and my son is now able to adjust to his new normal since this started in dec of 2018 Best Christmas present ever was hearing CASE DISMISSED!

It was my honor to work hard for your son and your family. When you hired me, you paid me the ultimate compliment: trusting me to protect your own son's freedom. I take that very seriously. I am so pleased that we got such a great result in this case.

Will recommend to others

I came to Ms. Straub with a unique issue, seeing as I could only find lawyers outside of Washington that dealt with Security Clearance adjudications. I sought consultation with Ms. Straub since she dealt with DOD, DUI and civilian investigations, three things that applied to my case. After talking t...o Ms. Straub in regards to a Letter of Intent that I received, she agreed to a consultation. Coming prepared to move forward if she was as well after the consultation, I had brought Ms. Straub everything that I could in regards to my case, including character references and even a response I had begun to write to the Letter of Intent at hand on my own before seeking legal help. Once hiring Ms. Straub, we were working within a short time frame, a few weeks, while waiting on a records request at the same time. Even though the records request did not arrive in time for review prior to the Refute submittal date. Ms. Straub’s knowledge in her field provided me with a response to submit that left me speechless and formatted in such a way that I never could have accomplished on my own in a timely and concise manner.

Review of Heather Straub

Heather is a force to be reckoned with but also extraordinarily thoughtful and considerate. She knew I was going through a very difficult time and stressed the importance of self care. She checked on me numerous times. She fought the battle Until it was won, the whole time Working efficiently and w...riting and responding with eloquent, educated responses and seeking truth. She’s passionate, has excellent work ethic and has a well informed background in military law. She’s quick to reach out for assistance with expertise outside her scope and approaches everything with 100% of herself. She is quick to respond, quick to provide relevant and experienced advice.

Thank you! In my experience, the best defense is a team approach, and having a healthy client --physically, mentally, and emotionally-- is crucial to achieve the best possible outcome. Thank you for the compliment to my writing. Well-written work product may not be flashy like a big public trial win, but it's important to me. I see the difference it makes in a client's case, and it feels great to be appreciated. I hope you continue to have a wonderful career and keep being the caring person you are.

WONDERFUL, CARING ATTORNEY

I hired Heather 18 months ago for assistance with military charges that ultimately resulted in me spending 12 months in prison - I was just recently released. While a conviction and 12 months may sound bad, I expected a 4 to 5 year sentence. I was panicked when I found myself initially served with ch...arges. Heather was recommended to me, I contacted her, and found her to be remarkable. She was responsive to my questions and concerns, honest and forthright, and walked me thru the entire process. She made me feel like part of the team, kept me informed, and fought hard to minimize my sentence, by ensuring both the hearing officer at the Article 32 hearing and the military judge at the Court Martial heard my concerns and mitigating circumstances, acknowledged them, and took them in to account with my final sentencing. I cannot imagine having had anyone else defend me, and am eternally grateful to her for her hard work fighting for me. Not only does she clearly know civilian law (we had to address a couple side issues in civilian court which were concluded in my favor), she also is very competent in a military court room. I would very strongly recommend her to anyone requiring a criminal defense attorney, especially if it involves the military!

Thank you so very much for this thoughtful review. Getting things just right on your case was like walking a tightrope while trying to solve a complicated riddle -- and I loved it. I am so glad that you were able to get a positive resolution to your case, and I wish you the brightest future possible.
