Ryan represents parents and students in educational legal matters in the Pacific Northwest. After working at an education law firm representing school districts as well as a general litigation firm, he is excited to get back to his true passion of working with and advocating for parents and students.
Ryan first became interested in education law after interning with his law school's education and disability legal clinic where he represented the educational rights of low-income students with special needs. He enjoyed this experience so much that he interned at the education and disability legal clinic two additional terms. He was ultimately honored with the Outstanding Clinic Intern Award for his graduating class, as well as the Pro Bono Service Award, in recognition of his contributions to low-income communities. Upon graduation, he clerked at the education and disability legal clinic.
Ryan has also written on several areas of education law, including student free speech as it relates to sexting and cyberbullying, technology in the classroom, educational equality and charter schools, and teacher tenure reform.

Ryan was our savior! Seriously! Our daughter was in serious crisis and the school district became impossible to deal with. Ryan came in, calm and collected, asked questions and applied the needed pressure on the school district. He is VERY knowledgable, he understands what it takes to make REAL chang...

I had a relatively small legal need and received excellent service and clear communication from Ryan Ford and his office. The intake process was smooth, and compared to other firms I talked with, it was easier to come to an agreement about scope of services. Communication was easy, thorough, and pr...

I came a crossed Ryan Ford’s website one sleepless morning, panicking and desperate for someone to help my son. My case is extremely convoluted and at times, likely not even believable to those that don’t know us. I called Ryan that day and rambled off 7 years of history, he was able to pick throug...

Ryan Ford is an attorney that is making a difference for all special needs students. I am so grateful that I was able to have Ryan Ford represent us. My case was extremely difficult and complicated. I was in a tight spot and my first hearing with the school district was due in 72 hrs. I didn't have a...

Ryan was extremely professional, kind and sensitive while dealing with the special needs school issues for my son. He guided our family in a very objective and rational way on how to negotiate an IEP and keep my son in a general education environment with the support he needs. Ryan was always acce...
"Ryan and I were classmates for all three years of law school and now occasionally work together on legal matters. Ryan is very sharp and savvy, I would not like to litigate against him. He is very diligent in his work and passionate about making real improvements in his clients' educational experiences. It is apparent Ryan cares deeply about making sure schools are providing the accommodations his students need and fights hard to obtain them. Whether it be simple, such as an extra classroom aide, or more intensive like private school placement, I have observed Ryan to be tireless in seeking the right educational space for his clients. Ryan has no tolerance for the games and false promises districts often use to try to pull the wool over a student's family's eyes. He is unafraid to go toe to toe with the schools and make sure students aren't swept under the rug. Ryan is truly a leader in Washington education law and his clients see the best outcomes as a result. I highly recommend."
"I endorse this lawyer. Ryan displays a level of professionalism and work ethic that is essential to be an effective attorney. He is highly knowledgeable and passionate about his area of practice. Ryan has a genuine interest in helping people and has always shown a determination to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients."
"Ryan Ford has the perfect combination for special education law -- expertise, experience and heart. I have known him since I supervised him as a law school intern in my Education and Disability Clinic. He took on some of our most challenging cases, and succeeded every time. I have followed his career and feel confident that he will be committed to outstanding work on each and every case he undertakes."
