Brian Wright | MANAGING ATTORNEY, OWNER - Causey Wright

Brian grew up in the greater Seattle area and worked various jobs in the construction industry until he returned to school, earning degrees in Japanese Studies and Political Science from the University of Washington. He obtained his law degree, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law, and served on the editorial board of the Seattle University Law Review. Brian is licensed to practice before the Washington State Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Brian represents injured and disabled workers with workers’ compensation claims before the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries and those covered by the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act which includes waterfront workers, overseas defense contractors (Defense Base Act), and domestic non-appropriated fund employees at U.S. military installations (Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act).

Brian also collaborates with other law firms filing lawsuits in Washington State on behalf of victims of asbestos-related diseases, and he litigates the occasional Jones Act/maritime case.

In addition to his busy litigation practice, Brian is active with several organizations which help preserve the rights of injured workers. He is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ), and for 2017-2018 he served as the Chair of its Workers’ Compensation Section. Brian is also a member of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG), a national non-profit organization dedicated to representing the interests of injured workers and their families. He has written and filed “friend of the court” briefs in Washington State on behalf of WILG in significant workers’ compensation cases.

Brian has been named to the Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars since 2016. We hope this trend continues until he reaches the age where he is eligible to be rated as a Super Lawyer. Brian was also recognized as a Rising Star by WILG in 2014.

Outside the office Brian enjoys spending time with his daughter. He can often be found working on his house, cycling, hiking, fly fishing, or playing the drums.

Absolutely the best workers compensation attorney
Brian is absolutely the best for workers compensation knowledge, skilled litigation and excellent guidance throughout the process. A few months after a high tech workplace injury, I hired the firm because my workers compensation was not approved. Brian persisted over 5 years though hearing, appeal and ultimately winning my case. At times I was ready to give up; but huge thanks to Brian’s persistence and his teams excellent responsive support, I made it to the end of a complex process with a successful outcome. I highly recommend Brian and his firm and give Brian a strong endorsement."

Number one in my book.
Purely professional and went the extra mile for 2 years on my claim/case. Brian is a upstanding, by the book, honest and hard working lawyer. His legal team is above all the in my experience and Causey Wright is hands down number one in my opinion. He got me a great settlement after many setbacks. I highly recommend Brian and his team. Thank you so much.

Took Sedgwick down and made them pay, all by himself (Boeing's workers comp ins.)
Brian took my case when several other firms said no. He also has won the Rising Star Award. He explained how my case would go through the different steps and how the process works. To the point I completely understood in layman's terms. I got hurt on the job at Boeing and Sedgwick kept denying surgery. I had two surgeries on my left shoulder and paid for them with my private ins. Just so I could get use of my shoulder and get back to work. Thank god for attorneys like Brian, who protected my rights, and let Sedgwick know that they can't get away this. These big ins. Company's will walk all over you. Brian and I went to a hearing, so I could testify. He practiced with me in his office. The hearing went well we thought. But the Judge ruled in favor for Sedgwick. Brian got the transcript and went through it and found mistakes. Then filled an appeal with the court, it came back in favor. Since then Brian has negotiated a settlement and I should be getting my first check at the end of January. The Causey/Wright law firm employees are very friendly and helpful.
