Our business is 22 years young this month. For the last 21 of those years, Greg Lawless has been our attorney. Greg has been with us as we've hired more employees, as we've won the confidence of an increasing number of global clients, and with us as we’ve grown from doing business in one city, Seattle, to now scores of cities around the world. Quite honestly, we couldn't have done this without Greg. When we have an NDA from a new client, Greg reviews it. When we have a question about an MSA, Greg clarifies it. And when contracts involve out of state or out of country terms, payment schedules, who does what and why, you guessed it, Greg is our counsel. We actually look to Greg for all legal aspects of our business ranging from HR issues, property management contracts, to protecting our GLG brand. We look to him because we know that he understands our business and our philosophy so incredibly well. He "gets" our culture, he listens to understand our clients' needs, and he brings a business perspective to GLG that’s loaded with common sense which is not only unique, it’s refreshing! Greg opts for the ideal of process, not the ordeal of process. He intuitively knows how to get to the heart of the issue and to put forth an idea, a premise, or a recommendation that moves the conversation towards resolution, not stalemate. And on top of all this, Greg is also an outstanding individual. He's engaging, personable, lighthearted, but most of all, the word I use to describe Greg is integrity.
I work for a professional fiduciary company and for many years have worked in the real estate department. I have worked with Greg Lawless for fifteen years and have become accustomed to calling on him as one of my few trusted advisers. Greg has long been involved in the unique world of fiduciary real estate transactions, and has worked to develop addenda and processes that address circumstances that we encounter on most transactions. Greg brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each transaction to help us to pinpoint specific weaknesses and potential pitfalls before problems occur. He has also helped us resolve complicated title issues on difficult properties, which is a normal occurrence in my industry.
Not only is Greg a skilled attorney, but he is also very available and responsive to requests for assistance. Furthermore, he is excellent in his follow through to seeing issues resolved completely. I recommend Greg to the highest extent possible.
Greg graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University and received his law degree in 1978 from the University of Washington Law School. Greg is recognized for his expertise in real estate, business and corporate matters. Greg is a frequent lecturer at legal education seminars, writes articles for the Bar News, and is the Past Chair of the Real Property section of the King County Bar Association. He is the primary author of the Washington Lawyers Practice Manual real property section. Greg was given the honor of being selected as a "Super Lawyer" by Washington Law and Politics magazine. He is also known for his love of golf, banjo, karate, archery, and fly fishing.

Recommend Greg Lawless
We have a small manufacturing and retailing business and have worked with Greg for well over 20 years. He provides amazingly timely assistance, is efficient and to the point, always aware of safeguarding our resources, explains details clearly, and works to keep issues as simple as possible. He is also willing to refer us to a specializing associate if he thinks it will better serve our needs. We would recommend him without reservation.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"I endorse this lawyer.
Attorneys who know the law well are rare and rarer still are counsel who hold their knowledge lightly with humility and humor. At a time of hyper-adversariality, the value of humility and humor cannot be overstated. I agreed to use Mr. Lawless as a special master on a case where the interpersonal conflict was so intense that the legal issues were very difficult to address.
Greg managed quite quickly to gain the trust of both parties and to gently inform both of the applicable law. He very capably brokered a conclusion to a very contentious issue with such skill that the parties turned to him later to resolve another issue. I remain amazed by his skills at listening, cajoling and delivering rulings in a fashion that both sides accepted. If you face property issues this is your guy. Hire him before he retires!"
