About Hamilton

Learn Hamilton’s areas of practice.

In 1965 my family founded a manufacturing company in Tukwila and continued to operate it throughout my school years. From that young age, I saw that owning and operating your own business is stressful and requires constant attention, but can also be extremely rewarding.

With family business part of my daily life, it was natural for me to seek a major in business administration. I graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration focusing on Entrepreneurship and a minor in Political Science.

During the course of my legal education, I realized that businesspersons evolve their practices due to an ever-changing collection of laws and regulations, which can be challenging, and disputes are sometimes inevitable. Having an attorney who understands the inside of a courtroom, as well as the intricacies of owning and managing a business, is a significant advantage.

My daily goal is to be a value-added partner and trusted adviser to my clients. To accomplish this I get to know the inner workings of my clients’ business, their employees, and customers. When an issue arises, I am able to identify the optimal way to achieve a client’s objectives, in light of the stakes involved. Nothing gets me more excited than to see my clients succeed and to know I was able to have a positive impact on their business.

Homeowner
We consulted with Hamilton about an issue we had with a home remodeling contractor. Hamilton was very upfront with us as to the issues of which we are dealing. He advised 3 alternative routes we could proceed to resolve the problem with the pros and cons of each. Ultimately, we would not hesitate to consult or hire Hamilton again. Knowledgeable, direct, and always looking out for our best interests. Fantastic attorney!

Trustee for my Family Trust
Hamilton helped me successfully sell a large, valuable piece of property owned by the Trust. I appreciated his help, as I was not experienced in such matters. He was always available when I needed him.

Generous and Efficient
When one is in a position to need a lawyer, its stressful enough. Hamilton was generous with his time, opinions, and advice and helped give clarity efficiently. He offers 15 minute free consultations (he spent about 20 with me on the phone) and struck the perfect balance of listening to our situation, efficiently finding the crux of the matter, and giving direct advice. We are not going forward with litigation, but will certainly contact Hamilton if future needs require such action.

Exceptional
If you are researching lawyers then you are experiencing a great deal of stress and negativity in your life. My husband and I were very unhappy with the lawyer we had and we decided to work with Hamilton Gardiner at the recommendation of a collauge. He made a very negative and stressful situation tolerable. He is someone who is willing to listen and provide reasonable, professional and fair feedback. Our experience with Hamilton and his firm was exceptional. They worked through the process with us, were trustworthy, friendly and they charged us reasonably. We would not hesitate to hire Hamilton and this firm again. We can recommend them without hesitation.

complicated lien collection ....success!
Can"t say enough good about having Hamilton Gardiner and his staff represent us in a complicated lien collection. He was very methodical and professional in negotiating against a less than proper opposing counsel. Would we retain him again? absolutely.

Great outcome, relatively painless process
Hamilton helped us with an eviction matter, which turned out fine, and then we asked him to help with garnishment to satisfy the judgement. We honestly thought we wouldn't get anything out of it, but Hamilton and his staff did a great job, and the judgement was satisfied. They kept us informed, and were prompt in answering emails and questions. I hope I don't need an attorney again, but if I do, I'll call Hamilton.

Hired Hamilton on a property dispute case, couldn't have asked for a better attorney to handle the case. Hamilton is knowledgeable and someone whom you can have confidence in to look out for your best interest when he’s representing you. Would highly recommend!

Great resource for our contract needs
We've had Hamilton write and review most of our contracts and leases since early 2012. Every time he's responded quickly and been able to turn around the project quickly and cost-effectively for our needs. I'd absolutely recommend him for ongoing general business needs.

Fantastic Advocate
I couldn't have asked for a better advocate. Hamilton's professional knowledge, work ethic, and informative responses always inspired confidence in his representation. He's the first attorney I'd recommend to any and all.

First Class, Professional Representation!
Hamilton is amazing! He represented myself and a small group of employees against a previous employer in a contractual dispute over an employeement agreement. Hamilton was always updating me along the way even just to say "still waiting" as is often the case in legal matters. He was readily available via email and phone even when not in the office. Every time I called HE answered the phone. That is extremely valuable when you have a question and need a timely answer. Hamilton was very forthcoming about the strength our case and open and honest about the potential pitfalls. His recommendations and advice along the way were always honest and not sugar-coated. Our case was resolved in a timely manner due to his hard work and diligence. If you are looking for a fast-talking attorney that will make promises he cannot deliver then Hamilton is NOT for you. If you need someone who is honest, trust-worthy and who does not fit the mold of the negative stereotype of attorneys then you need to call Hamilton. You will not regret your decision!

Awesome Advocate!
Mr. Gardiner actually answers the phone himself when I call! For the times he is unavailable, he always responds in a timely manner. Having dealt with several legal professionals over the years for various reasons, I can't say enough about how amazing that is. We (my husband and I) first contacted Hamilton in regard to reviewing and negotiating construction contracts for our business. Later, when we had a complicated contract dispute (a contract we didn't have him review unfortunately), he represented our firm and did a fabulous job. He was on top of the case and kept us informed. He was always available to answer our questions and assure us when we needed it. He was forthright, and let us know the weaknesses as well as the strengths of our situation. Hamilton is knowledgeable, but also does his research and keeps updated and well informed. Another characteristic I appreciate about Hamiliton is that he works diligently to keep costs down whenever possible. Very important to most of us! In addition to all that, he is an all-around great guy with a good sense of humor!

Mrs. Jaime A., Seattle, WA
I came to Mr. Gardiner with a Tenant / Landlord issue. I was very frustrated with how the opposition was attempting to intimidate me. Mr. Gardiner has a no problem, "can do' attitude and went right to work on getting me justice for my case. I had an update the very next day! I never had to wonder where my case was at, or what communication was happening. I was always well informed and up to date on the progress. In less then two weeks Mr. Gardiner was able to close out my case in my favor, and I was awarded my cash settlement entitled to me! I am very satisfied with how quick, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous Hamilton was during the process. He put me at ease, and I will return to his office if I ever need a solid solution to a difficult or complicated case.
