“Thank God I had Mr. King”

When my case was over, I thought “Thank God I had Mr. King”. PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE: Although resume speaks for itself, his experience and expertise really shine when you see him in action. a. During the preparation, it seemed like he was always thinking three steps ahead. Also, h...e TENACIOUSLY FOUGHT for the Navy to release certain written materials to me until finally, the day before my board, they gave in. This information, which he insisted on me having access to, became the KEY contributor to me be cleared of the two most serious charges. b. In the courtroom, I felt like I had a pit bull sitting beside me. There were many factual errors in both my investigation package and in what the prosecutor said, and Mr. King did not let them get away with one thing. And if Mr. King felt that the prosecutor was doing something wrong regarding legal procedure, he would pounce on that immediately also. When Mr. King and the prosecutor would then explain their legal points of view to the senior member of the board, Mr. King almost always won. REMEMBERS YOU’RE A PERSON: a. My investigation took a long time, and sometimes months would go by without my hearing anything from the Navy. But Mr. King would call me every few weeks, even if there was no news about my case, just to see how I was doing. That sounds minor, but I was depressed and stressed out, so it meant a lot to know that someone involved in my case remembered I was alive. b. Although my BOI cleared me of the two most important charges, not everything went the way I wanted it to. Mr. King had the expertise to know that there was a good change this could happen; and he had the foresight, compassion, and personal skills to get me mentally prepared me for this ahead of time. GOES THE EXTRA MILE: a. Because of my depression I got behind on things, and a week before my board I gave Mr. King some materials that I should have brought to his attention far before. Understandably, Mr. King was not overjoyed to be getting so much information at the last minute, and I believe that the great majority of attorneys would have said (and quite rightfully) “I’m sorry, but a week before the board is just too late for me to look at all this”. But Mr. King didn’t let me down, and the work Mr. King did with those materials in that week was instrumental in me being cleared of the two most serious charges. b. This extra effort, when he could have just blown me off, was especially noteworthy because I know that this unexpected task had to have become a tremendous inconvenience for him (although he never complained to me about how much of an inconvenience, either then or later). (1) It involved calls to multiple people, and usually multiple calls to each of them. (2) He had the additional burden of doing all of this from the other side of the world; and so he had to take into account time zone changes/protecting his sleep but also the sleep of those he was trying to reach in the United States, etc. (3) He had to work over the weekend. c. I think most other lawyers would have said to themselves: “I’m in Europe, it’s the weekend, and this client could have given me this stuff weeks ago. To ____ with him”. But Mr. King jumped on these materials and took care of me. There is a saying “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when you don’t have to”. That’s Mr. King. OFFICE STAFF: Process paperwork correctly, return promptly; easy to reach; answer calls and emails promptly; polite. Noticeably more professional than staff for other lawyers I talked to. FINAL COMMENT: DO NOT TRUST NCIS. Shockingly incompetent and sloppy. As a result, an accusation that NCIS could have cleared me of when made (and in about an hour) did not get cleared up until 3 years later. Without Mr. King fighting for me, I would have been sunk.

Thanks for the kind words, John. We sure appreciate you sharing your story with others. Your case was a long, hard grind and a perfect example of how broken our system is. From easily proven false allegations to assumptions of guilt to unnecessarily erecting walls that you had to surmount to defend yourself--you faced all they could throw at you and fought back--and WON! All of us here at KML are sorry that you had to go through this but proud of the way you fought back and elated that you won! Hopefully, your story will be read by others who may be in similar circumstances and give them hope when things look bleak. Thanks again, John. Please stay in touch! Don

Don King and his team are the best legal team I have ever worked with. In the court room and out he and his team fight for you and support you. Don and his team will check in on you during the process to help you keep fighting the battle on all fronts, the one in the court room, the one in your mind..., and whatever battles may come up during your time with them. He helped to keep me looking to goal of a favorable outcome, while also keeping informed of what we could do if we don't receive it. To ensure that you have all information needed to go into the court room as prepared as possible. He and his team answer questions, complaints, or comments in a timely manner. I could not imagine going through this process with any other legal team or lawyer. I can never put into words what he and his team did for me or what emotions can best describe this experience with them. All i can say is this. Don and his team gave me my life and my career back, and I am doing better for it. Thank you Don, an Thank you King Military Law.

Thank YOU, Antonio. Both for your dedicated service and for trusting us to help you continue despite the terrible, unsupported decision to charge you with those offenses. Glad we were able to get all of your questions answered, assist you with your command complaints as the process moved forward, and to keep your "head in the game." Enormously grateful that the board saw through this and acquitted you of all charges. I know it was a grind, and I'm sorry you had to go through it, but it was an honor for all of us at KML to get to know you, stand beside you, and fight this battle with you, and I agree that you'll be an even better leader because of it. Thanks again, and best of luck at school!

The best Military Attorney

Don King and his firm have saved me from losing what I was entitled to after serving nearly 4 years. Don fought relentlessly to protect my rights. I was being falsely accused of serious charges, with no hope of being given the opportunity or a fair chance of clearing my name. Don believed in me 100% ...and never questioned my character. Don and Kasheta were there for me 24/7 to answer questions through such a stressful time for myself and my family. Don would check-in with me to see how I was holding up.  He genuinely cared for my wellbeing.  Don and Kasheta are compassionate and truly care and they will fight for you and ensure that justice is served. Almost a year later Don and Kasheta continue to assist in getting my records to reflect accurate information , so that I can move forward with my Firefighter career. I can’t recommend Don King and King Military law enough!  You will not find another attorney with the experience, knowledge, compassion, and the fight that Don has in him.  He has numerous years and experience in the system, which you will not find anywhere else!!  Thank you so much Don and Kasheta for all that you have done and continue to do!! A.T.

King and his team will give you one hundred percent of their efforts.

I was once told by my command and even military lawyers that my separation from the military was inevitable and that there was no way to fight it. But, thanks to the guidance of Mr. King, I was encouraged to fight for my name and was even able to win my board. Angela and Kasheta were always there to ...assist me with any questions or concerns I had, and Angela did an amazing job scrutinizing the discovery and finding many flaws with the accusations. It was their hard work and dedication that eventually led to me being retained in the military. Mr. King was always professional and instilled confidence in me that I had nothing to fear. I would highly recommend his firm, knowing that his team will give you one hundred percent of their efforts and help you fight for what's right.

Thanks for telling your story, Ariel. Unfortunately, many active duty members are given little hope when they find themselves accused of something in the military, and it can definitely be discouraging. But, in our experience, it's always best to at least try and fight back. The military makes mistakes, witnesses don't always tell the truth, and commands make decisions based on erroneous information. That's why all of us here at KML think "out of the box." We never assume, we never guess, and we never give up. Your case is a perfect example of why. Our very best to you, Ariel. So glad that you have your future back! Don
