Military physician defense

Don and his team are amazing. I am an active duty doctor who was charged following an allegation of failing a military random urine drug screen. I hired Don to represent me at both NJP and a Board of Inquiry. He is an absolute expert at all level of military law. My case was complex as it also includ...ed hospital privileges and how that overlapped with UCMJ violations. In the end, Don help me win at the BOI and all allegations were dismissed and I was retained in the military. The team here is very detailed orientated and very responsive, he was always willing to connect by phone for questions. Don's has so much knowledge about various commands and military communities, that he is capable of adjusting his writing style and legal approach to what he thinks would resonate best in that situation. During the BOI he was amazing; he was in total control of the whole situation. His experience in these situations is so apparent as he handles the government lawyers with ease. I worked a lot with his paralegal, Holly. She is an excellent writter and she has a calm sense about her that left me always feeling better. She has a huge amount of military legal experience and is an expert in military process. She was always able to explain to me what a situation would look like (how will NJP go, what should I expect, etc.). She was very organized, a great legal writer and all around kind person. If I ever have military legal problems in the future, I am calling Don and hiring him again without a doubt.

Hey Doc! Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with KML. While I’m so disappointed in the Navy that you needed our services, I’m so glad you chose us to fight this battle with you. I’ve been doing this a long time, and I've rarely seen such poor leadership decisions as in your case. This legal issue should never have existed and was purely the result of poor, self-preservation-focused decision-making. No reasonable person would have ever placed a man, a naval officer, and a physician of your quality in a defensive position. I’m sorry you had to fight so hard to win a battle that should never have existed. But I’m glad it’s behind you, freeing you up to continue the massive contributions you make to women’s health and to our Navy families. The Navy doesn’t have enough care providers like you (and, after your treatment by the Navy, we need not wonder why), and I know I join your patients, nurses, and Corpsmen when I say how happy they all are that you succeeded in your fight. And thanks for calling out the paralegals. Kasheta, Holly, and Angela are all retired military members who’ve dedicated themselves to fighting for fairness for our clients. Thanks for recognizing their impact. From all of us here at KML, our very best to you and your family, Doc, as you continue to do great things, in whatever capacity! Don and the KML Team

10/10 Experience

I would absolutely recommend Mr. Kings representation to anyone being accused of a crime in the Military. His experience is second to none and his knowledge of the military legal process is very impressive. Personally, my command was not on my side through any steps of the process but KML had my back... every second and created an incredible defense package for me that impressed my command because of how detailed it was. He was able to uncover information that the command never even knew existed. The professionalism at KML is incredible and I will absolutely hire this legal team again to help me in the future.

Thank you for your review, "Anonymous." I recognize who you are, and I appreciate that you chose our firm to represent you during this stressful process. The entire KML team is pleased to see that you won—you absolutely deserved that victory. It is unacceptable when commands forget that loyalty must flow both ways and that allegations are not truth. It's disappointing to witness commands overlook this fundamental principle. All too often, commands or investigative agencies such as NCIS, CID, AFOSI, or CGIS gather only enough information to support a presumption of guilt, which ultimately influences their decision to charge you. At KML, we don't let this happen. From the start, we conduct our own investigation and collect evidence that SUPPORTS our clients. We then may present this compelling information to the prosecution or command before they make a decision, ensuring they have the complete picture—not just the narrow view provided by NCIS. This approach can, and does, make a significant difference for our client, as it did for you. We are thrilled to see you back on track! Wishing you continued success in your career, and I encourage you to stay in touch! Best, Don and the KML Team

When Your Career Is on the Line, Choose the Best

As a senior enlisted service member (E-7) with over 18 years of naval service, I recently faced one of the most difficult and stressful periods of my career, an administrative discharge proceeding due to disciplinary action. Having never been in any kind of legal trouble before, the pressure and unce...rtainty were overwhelming. From the very first conversation, Don C. King and his partner Angela demonstrated not only exceptional legal expertise, but genuine care and commitment. Mr. King did far more than simply represent me, he stood beside me. He took the time to understand my career, my character, and what was truly at stake for me and my family. His performance during my administrative separation board was nothing short of outstanding. He was prepared, strategic, confident, and relentless in advocating on my behalf. Watching him work was reassuring in a moment when everything felt uncertain. He carried burdens that I didn’t even realize I was carrying and allowed me to focus on staying composed and present. What impressed me most was that his support extended beyond the professional. He understood the emotional toll this process takes and made sure I never felt alone in it. If you are facing any type of legal issue especially one that threatens your career, reputation, or future, I can say without hesitation that you want Don C. King in your corner. He is hands-down one of the best in the business. I am deeply grateful for his representation and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of strong, dedicated legal counsel.

Hey Chief! Thanks so much for your kind review. It was such an honor getting to know you. We can’t tell you how much all of us here at KML appreciate you trusting us to do battle for you. And battle is precisely what this was. The Navy threw everything it had at you, and you still prevailed--such a testament to your stellar career and your dedication to your Sailors and your command. Thank you also for the shout-out to Angela! Greatly appreciate that! All of the paralegals here are exceptional professionals who care for our clients as if they were family. They work aggressively and for long hours on their behalf, but often go unrecognized. Thank you so much for recognizing Angela’s efforts! And thanks also for mentioning the emotional toll this can take — that will help others be aware and prepare, and to know that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Again, congratulations on a win you so richly deserved! And thanks for taking the time to share your experience with others. Stay in touch, and please let us know if there is ever anything more we can do for you. Don, Angela, and the KML Team

Confident, Caring, and Competent

Don King and his team expressed great interest in my case, were particularly sensitive to the emotional baggage I had around the case, and maintained a realistic attitude at every step, as well as being proactive in communication with me, and with all other legal parties involved. Don's advice for ho...w to speak, write, and generally present myself was backed by his experience and he communicated well. The experience of working with his team was smooth. I truly felt able to trust them all with sensitive personal information and critical case information. God forbid I ever find myself in a remotely similar situation, King Military Law will be my first call.

These types of cases take a huge emotional impact and I'm so glad that you shared that with readers--it helps folks understand what to expect and, more importantly, that there's hope when it seems otherwise. And thanks again for trusting our team to fight this for you! Folks like you are the reason we all do this and there's no better reward than a big win like yours. Please don't need us again :) ! But if you do, we are here for you. Don and the KML Team.

DON'T TALK UNTIL YOU HAVE CALL KING LAW

If you’re reading these reviews and still wondering, “Do I really need an attorney?” the answer is a resounding YES! I questioned whether I needed one, and now I know I should have retained legal counsel from day one of the investigation. It doesn’t matter what the issue is—never talk to anyone wi...thout first seeking legal guidance. In today’s military environment, trust is not enough. Protect yourself. Don King and his team stood by me from my very first consultation through to my favorable retirement. Their expertise, professionalism, and unwavering support made all the difference. My only regret is not calling Don sooner. If you find yourself facing any investigation, don’t say a word until you’ve called King Military Law. Say: “I want a lawyer.”

We’ll always be here if you need us. Merry Christmas! Don and the KML team
