Naresh Arun Rajan

Naresh helped me out of a bad situation with a favorable outcome. From the beginning to the end, he would reassure me and remind me of my rights, as I would often forget them! He has a very good way of putting you at ease, and is easy to talk to, which I believe is rare in an attorney. He offered adv...ice as an attorney, but from my perspective, he was like a big brother I could look up to, which I attribute to his caring manners. He also seemed to be well networked, knowing a lot of the people at the courts, as well as being extremely well organized, as he could recall things from years ago almost instantly from memory -- an asset in this field of practice, I am sure! Mr. Rajan is a former U.S.Marine who has been a Defense Attorney for 10 years. He was court appointed to me to fight a misdemeanor charge. Overall he was fairly prompt about getting back to me whether it was email or phone call. I sometimes wondered though if he was with the prosecutors office as i...t seemed that he was on the side of the DA . After delay after delay I finally plead to the misdemeanor charge. Mr. Rajan is intelligent speaks Tamil, Spanish yet feel he's overworked as one morning he didn't show up at court for my case. There were two other people he was representing as well waiting for him. After two hours he shows up. the clerk contacted him then Mr. Rajan tells me ''he thought his cases were in the Afternoon today..'' That made me a little nervous. Overall he is ethical in certain ways, he understood my criticism was nothing personal. I'm neutral whether to recommend him or not.

Naresh is honest and helpful with not too many frills. He will tell you things as is they are and has a vast amount of knowledge of processes and laws in San Mateo County and beyond. Given a very difficult and complex client with a history of a strike conviction, significant mental health disorders including schizoaffective disorder and chronic delusions, multiple prescribed mental health medications, chronic long-term addiction, and multiple treatment program failure, Naresh Raj...an NEVER lost sight of the long-term goal of supporting the client's need for appropriate treatment placement. While it would have been easy to simply have the client plea to a new charge of minor possession and serve significant time because of his strike, Naresh Rajan went above and beyond any normal expectations with numerous Court appearances seeking appropriate treatment placement for this client. It took 3 separate treatment placements always moving to a higher level of care, and even with a negative probation report, Naresh Rajan was able to provide medical testimony and treatment testimony that convinced the Superior Court Judge to allow the client continued treatment placement. Currently the client is stable and compliant with medications, and he has just completed 13 successful months of a highly structured residential mental health/addiction treatment, and the client claims 18 months sobriety. Over the past decade, the client's family has engaged 6 separate attorneys several of whom charged enormous fees, but not one provided the insightful, thoughtful, comprehensive, thorough legal knowledge as Naresh Rajan. Naresh Rajan never wavered and his legal commitment and dedication has given this client a possible second chance at an independent, sustainable life. A buddy and I had a pretty wild night out and ended up getting slapped with drunk in public charges. When we went to the arraignment Naresh entered a not guilty plea. He was a straight shooter and told us that the charges weren't going to stick and explained why. He was very responsive and always kep...t me in the loop. After negotiating with the district attorney on numerous occasions, Naresh ended up getting my charge down to a infraction that doesn't pertain to being drunk in public.
