Amy brings a compassionate approach to her clients in a time when they can be overwhelmed by the legal and emotional complexities of their cases.  She works with clients to resolve their cases through mediation, arbitration, and court action.  Her practice includes parenting issues, asset and debt division, spousal maintenance and child support, non-marital relationships, third party custody, and adoptions.

In addition to representing parties, Amy also works as a Guardian ad Litem in family law cases.

"Thorough, thoughtful, knowledgeable"
Listening is such an undersung skill in the legal profession. Ditto helping the client not feel like an idiot. Amy has both skills in spades. They're a nice complement to her legal acumen. When I work with Amy, she patiently walks me through my options in language I understand. And I always feel she's acting in my best interest.

Divorce case
Our divorce was not contentious so it was not a difficult case. I was most impressed that Amy recognized this and tried to streamline the required procedures to minimize costs. I was quite happy with the result.

Amy Was a Game Changer and Helped Get Things Turned Around
I don’t usually write reviews and I don’t think reviews are appropriate until you have had the full experience. I've had the full experience. I’m an older guy. Amy was the second attorney I hired in my painful divorce, but she was a keeper. I hired Amy after a bad family court decision that was followed by a conversation with my previous attorney which left me feeling isolated and dumbfounded. This bad decision put me way behind the 8-ball and created more stress than I could handle. This was a nasty divorce of a long marriage and it ended up going to trial and almost getting appealed. I also had to endure numerous false accusations of domestic violence, stealing community property, perjury, and other false statements from my ex. I’m not going to beat around the bush. The bottom was the worst time of my life but I’m clear of that now. After some time to reflect, I am very fortunate Amy took my case and helped me dig out from the hole I was in. It was a long, and at the time, painful process. With her consistent strategy, integrity, leadership and teamwork over a period of several years it all paid off. She didn't always say what I wanted to hear but her advice was always in my best interest. Among other things (probably too specific to post publicly), she was even able to help me get financial relief when my ex refused to return property. I wish I had been with Amy from the start. I can’t thank her enough for being a key part in the larger process of turning my life around. She deserves more than five stars.

Fought hard for my kids, was ethical yet stern when warranted. Very pleased!
Amy was recommended by a friend of a friend, and I’m so grateful she took my case. Though it’s been a long battle, she has remained dedicated to helping us and has been available for urgent needs when they arise. Amy is tough in the courtroom yet still remains ethical. I so appreciate her work for us. Could not recommend her more highly!

Empathetic and Knowledgeable Divorce Attorney
Going into my divorce, I was worried that the process would be stressful and confusing. Hiring Amy as my divorce attorney turned out to be the best choice that I could've made during the entire process. Amy was knowledgeable, efficient in her communications, and most importantly, empathetic towards me. She was very understanding, and patiently walked me through any questions that I had. Amy helped me finish the divorce with a settlement that I was satisfied with, and made the entire process much less stressful for me. I would definitely recommend hiring her for any divorce-related cases.

Excellent Divorce Lawyer
Ms Franklin Bihary handled my divorce proceedings in 2015, and I cannot speak highly enough of her. She was always professional and very responsive to my emails and phone calls. She always kept me in touch with progress and developments. It is totally due to Ms Franklin Bihary that I was awarded a generous financial settlement, a workable parenting plan, and a favorable asset allocation. I was particularly impressed that she dealt with some contentious issues with patience and firmness, and was a strong negotiator. I am very much indebted to her, for making a stressful process as painless as possible. I highly recommend her as a divorce lawyer.

Highly Recommend
I had been working on my own without an attorney when I found out my ex had gotten an attorney without telling me as a way to get the upper hand. Upon engaging Amy, she quickly assessed my situation and immediately knew where risk was. She was thorough and pragmatic and always working toward a long-term solution that put the kids first, something I very much value. Additionally, divorce is extremely emotional so having someone compassionate that you can count on in your corner is critical. I very much appreciated Amy's complete responsiveness and the fact that she collaborated with me every step of the way. I truly felt like I had a partner during the worst time of my life and would highly recommend her.

Superb, personalized service
I filed for divorce about 8 months ago. While my case has not closed yet, I am very confident in recommending Amy. I have a very complex case involving a small child, and Amy has handled my case superbly. Emails and calls have always been returned within a few hours. I have always known what direction our case had been heading in. There have never been any surprises. Amy is very fair and ethical, but can be aggressive when the need arises. Additionally, Amy collaborates with Michael Louden on complex issues. Along this journey, I have felt like I am the firm's number one priority. I recommend Amy Franklin-Bihary without any reservations.

Client Review
My husband and I have worked with Amy for several years now handling child support and child custody cases. We live on the east coast and have had to rely on Amy to plead our cases with us away. Amy has always been available at the spur of the moment. She is always open and honest and tells us what the reality of the situation is. She is easy to work with and even when money is tight for us she works with us to pay our bill.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
"Amy and I were opposing counsel in a difficult case with sensitive issues. We stayed focused on the important issues -- the well-being of a young child -- and were able to manuever what could have been a litigious and expensive road efficiently and well. I very much appreciated the way in which she balanced advocacy for her client and sensitivity toward all of the difficult emotional issues that were involved."
