Highly recommend

I've worked in HR for over 30 years and I can say unequivocally that Robin is the best attorney I've worked with. She handled two discrimination cases for us. Unlike many attorneys, Robin is a straight talker, and gives advice and recommendations. She develops a strategy and is very savvy and tough.... You do not want to be across the table from her!

Negotiated my severance package/received an excellent and fair package.

Ms. Robin Phillips of Lasher et al, Attorneys at Law was referred to me by another lawyer friend of mine. I engaged her to negotiate the severance package a large nation-wide firm had offered me when they laid me off (I had been the CFO for a small company for 14 years, and the large firm bought my ...firm, and within two months laid me off at the age of 60). About a month before my last day, my new employer informed me I would be laid off in about four weeks, so I engaged Ms. Phillips to represent me since I felt I had been discriminated against because of my age, and wasn't sure if I would even get a severance package. I was offered a severance package which I felt was inadequate given my years of service and loyalty to my purchased company. Ms. Phillips also felt it was totally inadequate, and completely revised their offer into a counterproposal, and also spoke with the new company about their having possibly discriminated against me due to my age. Once she did that, the new company countered with a somewhat better offer, Ms. Phillips likewise countered, and through several iterations, I was finally able to sign just a few days ago a very fair and balanced severance package. Throughout the whole negotiation, Ms. Phillips was very professional, keeping me informed of the status of the negotiations, proposing to me excellent counterproposals to submit to the new company. I very much liked her steady, calm, and professional approach to my situation, and in the end I was able to sign an excellent severance agreement, and avoid having to sue my former employer. Ms. Phillips has proved herself to me to be an outstanding negotiator and very skilled and knowledgeable employment law attorney. I recommend her without hesitation to anyone who needs representation regarding their employment status, feels he or she is a victim of discrimination, and/or is being treated unfairly in cases of termination. When it comes to employment law and representation, Ms. Phillips is the person to engage.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Robin is a talented advocate and highly skilled attorney. She has an uncanny ability to see the real value in a case long before her opponents and then smartly and tenaciously pursue that end long after most other attorneys would resign to a less favorable outcome. She has a long line of repeated success attesting to this ability. Having worked with Robin on a number of matters, I know firsthand how fortunate her clients are to have her type of unflinching and well-reasoned advocacy and strongly endorse Robin."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
