Employment and Labor 95%

Even though I represent both employers and employees, for the most part, I have represented plaintiffs in wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases and in wage/hour disputes. I have broughts cases to trial, drafted appeal briefs and argued before Division I and Division II of the Washington State Court of Appeals. I have also mediated dozens of cases. Through representation, I have recovered millions of dollars on behalf of my clients.

Very balanced

Leo was always available and reponsive. He was an especially good listener and did not mind explaining issues in different ways and more that once until they were thoroughly understood. His advice and direction always included a "...how do you feel about that?" He kept me informed when it was nece...ssary to do so, but did not burden me with items or issues that I had no control over and were mostly legal requirements. Most importantly, we were successful in our efforts. I would recommend him unconditionally.

Very professional and dedicated.

I was involved in a labor dispute with a previous employer and chose Leo for representation. Throughout the entire case I was constantly reminded of how lucky I was to have him on my side. His knowledge and experience shone through every action and his pleasant demeanor was definitely a plus. He w...as determined to fight the unfair actions of my previous employer and he did with honor and assisted with the guidance of a fair resolution to the dispute. I would highly recommend having Leo as your council if you are in need of an honest, professional employment/labor attorney.

Customer Review

Mr. Patrick Leo McGuigan - "Leo" gave me hope when I was starting to believe there was none left to be found when I was wrongfully terminated by my employer after 22 years of dedication. I had been working for them my entire adult life and was completely lost having been stripped of my vested retir...ement and all of my resources and having been thrown into an economic recession. I and all my coworkers knew that what they did was wrong however I couldn’t quite wrap my mind around the reasoning. When I first met Leo, he gave me a nice warm handshake and offered me some refreshments and then invited me into his firm’s pleasant conference room overlooking downtown Seattle. Leo immediately made me feel at ease and my first impression of him was that I had finally met with someone who clearly understood what I was going through and really cared about helping me get my job back. After a quick review of the documents that my employer presented, it took Leo only seconds to unravel their misguided theories and web of baseless information. As distraught as I was, a ray of hope flickered in my thoughts and I came to a quick understanding of what really happened and how I would need to proceed with the matter. Leo armed me with wit and emotional combat gear and encouraged me to stand firm and see this through. The two hearings I ultimately had to go alone to and present myself were across the country; however I felt comfortable going because Leo had written me the letter of the century put in layman’s terms causing the pillars of corporate America to act fairly whether they cared or not. It was also comforting to me that Leo had given me his cell phone number and offered to make himself available long distance during my hearings. Winning at my company’s third and binding hearing can be likened to a “Supreme Court” victory. I prayed for someone of Leo’s brilliant and thoughtful demeanor to come into my life when I was certainly down in the gallows and I will always consider Leo a lifelong friend.

Thanks!

Leo successfully got me the full (5 figure) amount of back wages owed to me by an unscrupulous employer. Leo kept me up to date, and if anything I regret not letting him pursue my case as aggressively as he wanted. Should I ever be in the unfortunate situation that I was again I wouldn't hesitate to... go back to him.
