A prominent Portland attorney recommended me to Eric. I found Eric really listened and believed in me. While few attorneys are even willing to pursue my kind of case, Eric was optimistic He is so smart and articulate. He knows how to deal with "the other side", and legal mumbo jumbo, and got them to take notice. He met with me on my time. He got me a settlement . This would all have gone nowhere without Eric. Dives in with energy and knowledge
Eric is extraordinarily high energy, which impressed me when I first talked to him on the phone. He sees many possibilities and explores them all with diligence. He communicates clearly and frequently unlike some others who actually seem to want to avoid contact. His outlook is positive and creative, leaving “no stone unturned” to find solutions. The biggest difference for me compared to being with other lawyers is that I felt he genuinely cares-- because he does. I didn’t really expect that trait in a lawyer and I was very pleased.

Really?
Eric represented me in a motorcycle vs. automobile accident years ago not consulting with me at all. he asked for the max of what the insurance policy would Allow which I believe was 1 million dollars.I would’ve taken them fixing my Harley and giving me $20k to pay for my concussion…. Keep clear of this guy

STAY AWAY FROM ERIC HELMY!!!
I requested a consultation regarding a situation I'm experiencing with my business. I am not well versed in business law, and I was just trying to understand the legalities around my situation, and perhaps if I needed representation. Right off the bat, Eric was rude, not informative, and kept putting pressure on me to move forward with hiring him without me understanding if I needed representation or not. I kept telling him I'm not exactly sure if I'm at a place where I need representation, and that is why I was inquiring in the first place. He kept responding with an attitude, saying "What do you want?" This guy is your run of the mill, high pressure lawyer that doesn't care about you, but only cares about making as much money off you as he can, while spending as little time as possible actually helping you. I've worked with many attorneys, this guy was by far the worst I've ever had to interact with. Do yourself a favor, find a lawyer that is at least a decent human being.

Real Flaky First Impression
I contacted Eric about my case, I was very disappointed with his lack of attention to details, I kept having to repeat myself over and over. I did not hire Eric for my case, I felt like it would just be a waste of money. I hired another attorney, I felt listened to me better.
