Jeremy Bartels is the founder of The Bartels Law Firm, where he represents clients in a variety of civil litigation contexts. Jeremy's practice involves client representation at all stages of litigation in employment law, insurance law, personal injury and other complex litigation matters. Jeremy also provides pre-litigation advice and consultation regarding business, employment, and contract matters.
Education and Background
Jeremy grew up in the Seattle area and attended Vanderbilt University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. After graduating, Jeremy spent a year working for the Davidson County Public Defender's Office in Nashville, Tennessee, while simultaneously teaching school and tutoring Vanderbilt University athletes. He then attended law school at Seattle University School of Law, where he was twice the mock trial champion. He represented the law school in regional mock trial competitions in both his second and third years. He graduated cum laude as a member of the school's distinguished Moot Court Board and as a member of the Order of the Barristers.
Jeremy started his legal career working at a small firm where he participated in the litigation of suits ranging from small injury claims to wrongful death actions. While there, he argued at the Superior Court level in the seminal case of Davis v. Baugh, et al., which eventually reached the Supreme Court and resulted in the permanent excision of a legal standard that had been in place for 100 years in Washington.
Following his work at the civil firm, Jeremy spent four years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Snohomish County where he completed approximately 50 trials at both the misdemeanor and felony levels, achieving a conviction rate of 98%. During this time, Jeremy prosecuted a wide range of cases including assaults, driving related offenses, theft, fraud, forgery, home invasions, delivery of narcotics, and homicide.
Following his time as a Deputy Prosecutor, Jeremy worked for three years at a civil litigation firm where he represented both plaintiff and defense clients in a variety of civil litigation matters.
Jeremy then joined the Washington State Attorney General's Office where he represented the State in civil commitment proceedings that were initiated against Sexually Violent Predators (SVP). His practice at the Attorney General's Office consisted of complex, expert-driven civil litigation practice. Jeremy never lost a jury trial during his time with the Attorney General's Office.
Before founding The Bartels Law Firm, Jeremy worked for a boutique law firm where he engaged in personal injury, employment, insurance litigation and complex business and personal litigation matters.

An effective, informative, and diligent attorney

Helpful, thorough, personable
I was rear ended in 2014 by an uninsured driver with an expired license. This driver pushed my car into the car in front of me, causing a three vehicle collision. A police officer showed up on the scene and issued me a ticket, even though she had not witnessed the incident and the damage to the cars ...

Jeremy Bartels is the lawyer you want by your side when facing a legal challenge. I hired him when I was blindsided by a potential lawsuit in 2018. He was extremely knowledgeable and effective. "Jeremy is a talented and dedicated attorney. His work appears to be more of a calling than a career. He is one of the most exceptional trial attorneys I have had the pleasure to practice with. I give him my highest endorsement."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jeremy is a great advocate who is well prepared, confident, and comfortable talking with a jury."
"Jeremy is a consumate professional, and a credit to our profession. When I was opposing counsel on criminal matters, Jeremy was always prepared, professional and polite. He was never a pushover, but he was always willing to listen and be reasonable as a prosecutor. I consider him a friend and am proud to call him a colleague."
"I have had the great privilege of knowing Jeremy for over a decade. During that time, I have witnessed him become an incredibly dedicated, passionate and successful lawyer, both as a prosecutor and now in private practice. His memory for details is without fault, and he is quite frankly one of the most persuasive people I have ever known. These assets have served his clients well and will continue to do so. I could not more highly recommend Jeremy."
"I had the opportunity to work on the opposite side of the table as Mr. Bartels on a number of cases. He is always well prepared, professional and a tenacious litigator. I am proud to be able to endorse his work."
