Kathryn B Abele

Kathryn represented me from roughly the end of 2020 until the fall of last year (2024). Got me through my divorce that was finalized in july 22 and all I asked for in my divorce for a long distance parenting plan. Unfortunately because of my ex I was forced to move back and Kathryn continued to take... on my case as my ex took me through court 2 years in a row following the divorce. She works and fights hard to get their clients the best outcome. Shes well known as a hard hitting attorney , I truly cant recommend her enough!

We got off to a good start, once my retainer was paid in full everything started changing, at first she made it seem like we had the upper hand in the custody battle and property dissolution but as time went on I realized she didn't care about the outcome after I refused to lie about the past history... and behavior of my ex husband. I ended up hiring a different attorney and to this day have not received any of my retainer money back. The moment I hired a different attorney communication inproved with my ex husband and his attorney and we were able to settle and agree. Kathryn is very unprofessional and rude, does not let me finish a sentence and during our last conversation she hung up on me twice. She wasn't supportive of communicating with the opposing party and only cared that we went to trial.

I've gotten to know Ms. Abele throughout my divorce proceedings. I can tell you that she has a very good, kind heart. And she is smart as a whip. My husband threatened me time and again to take money away from me if I got a lawyer. It almost worked. I hired Ms. Abele who quickly reassured me tha...t this could not happen. She was able to get me everything I needed and deserved from a 22 year marriage with a scoundrel. I've seen people remark on Ms. Abele's disciplinary hearing. Why refer to something in the past? Why not simply speak to her skills (or lack thereof) as a lawyer? I find it to be cruel. Is Ms. Abele different? Yes. But I have learned to see past a person's obvious exterior and see within. There is no room in this world for 'different', which I find unfortunate. I truly believe, based on what I have observed in Ms. Abele, that she was unfairly judged. To find her intentionally disruptive was ignoring the wide spectrum of human behavior. She is loud. She can get too emotional. But that doesn't make her a bad attorney. If you want a well behaved lawyer, don't hire her. If you want a GREAT lawyer who will save/win you money, then do.

I couldn't be happier with Kathryn Abele. What an amazing attorney. She cared about me and not the money. I knew I made the right decision when Kathryn told me that she would only drop me if I lied to her. She doesn't care about money. Money was always the last thing we talked about. Kathryn di...dn't want a huge retainer. That also showed me she cared about me and not the money. Kathryn charged me $2000 for my divorce AND to get a DVPO dismissed. Not only did I completely win my divorce and my ex wife got $0 from me I also kept all of my property without having to split anything with my ex wife but Kathryn also got my DVPO completely dismissed because Kathryn proved that the only reason my ex wife got the DVPO was to gain leverage in the divorce. I couldn't be happier with Kathryn. If you want someone that cares about YOU hire Kathryn. I also spent a little time reading through her reviews. I noticed a 1 star review from someone named Jessica on 02-22-2021 the same day we got our final divorce papers. Hmmmm my ex wifes name is Jessica. And my ex wife just lost everything she was asking for. I am willing to bet that the 1 star review came from my ex wife Jessica. The reason I say that is because my ex wife wanted 10k in lawyers fees. Not only that but before I even hired a lawyer I offered my ex wife money to pay for any fees if she would just stop lying and we ended our marriage civily. Jessica didn't want that. Jessica wanted to fight. And she went and lied and got a false DVPO. Coincidence....I dont think so. So please don't listen to the review from Jessica on 02-22-2021. It is a false review and a lie. So if you want an attorney that cares about you and not what's in your wallet and will go over and beyond without asking for more money, hire Kathryn Abele.
