Sweet, professional, acting in my best interest?

I was Jeannie's client back in December 2006 (12.13.06). I was charged with a DUI with 0.068 BAC + traffic violation with no priors. Now facing similar charges, DUI with 0.022 + speeding ticket, yes 0.022, I am looking for another attorney. I'm wondering why Jeannie choose to utilize my one lifeti...me deferred prosecution (admitting guilt) for a DUI. Did she act in my best interest or hers (make a quick easy buck rather than getting it dismissed, guilty of only a traffic violation? I don't feel like I was optimally represented. Having worked with Mucklestones in the past, I was hoping to have a reason to continue my relationship...

Speeding

I hired Jeannie after hearing from many friends, and reading about her on this site, about how she will magically make your tickets disappear. I paid her office promptly after receiving my ticket and figured I was probably fine seeing as it was only a routine speeding ticket. (10mph over) However I d...id know before hand and the very kind office clerk reminded me, that nothing was guaranteed and it was possible that the ticket could not be dismissed. The first court hearing date was post-poned and then the second hearing resulted in an amendment that changed the charge from speeding to a non moving violation, which also does not bare any points on your DMV record, unlike a speeding ticket. Even though I really would have liked a complete dismissal, I'm somewhat irked by 2 issues. 1.That I still have to pay the ticket (since I was found guilty of the non-moving violation, and the cost of the fine did not change from the original $124). This is on top of Jeannie's flat rate of $350, costing me a grand total of $474 just for going 70 in a 60. However, having to pay the ticket is not under Jeannie's control so I don't pin that on her. That is the price of keeping a sparkling clean record, which is critically important at my age of 18. 2. The letter I received in the mail with the final result informed me that the result of this case came from an agreement between the lawyer and the Prosecution, and not from an actual hearing by the judge, which is what I thought all along was the procedure. What I was told by Jeannie's assistant is they get tickets dismissed through technicalities by the cop, paperwork, court, etc, and not by deals with prosecution. I am strongly assuming this is what happened, and while I don't mind that, it's that if my case wasn't strong enough and this is what the lawyer had to resort to, the only thing I would have liked was a little communication to the fact that this might happen or that the lawyer was planning to do this. While I was very hopeful for a complete dismissal of the ticket, Jeannie did meet my absolute main goal of keeping a clean driving record for insurance purposes, and I thank her for that. I would consider her services again, but I would hope communication gets a little bit stronger.

Not as advertised

After hearing good reviews on this attorney, and having received my first ever speeding ticket, I was anxious to have Ms. Mucklestone represent me in court. With a clean driving record, I was repeatedly assured by the girl answering the phone of their 95% success rate in having tickets dismissed. I w...as confident! The process of having emails and phone calls returned was very bad with this practice. Not once did Ms. Mucklestone ever call me personally, causing me to believe her emails were auto-generated replies mostly. I definitely felt like a number here. In the end, my case wasn't dismissed ultimately wound up on my record. Considering this purported 95% success rate they have, I was a little surprised I fell in the 5% of cases they don't win, considering as I said earlier, the immaculate driving record. I was not impressed. Wouldn't do it again. Turns out Ms. Mucklestone didn't even represent me in court. Her associate did. It certainly would've been nice to know my case was being passed along beforehand.

waste of money

I hired her for three tickets, but she was only successful with one. One ticket was given when my son called police to help with an accident. The driver who rear-ended him said that my son had cut him off. Jeannie didn't want information, nor did she want him at the hearing and said that he would ea...sily get off on a technicality. That didn't happen and wanted us to appeal. No guarantee and a lot more money. We didn't do it. Another ticket was taken to court and she negotiated a dismissal with proof of a driving class. Took the class, still got the ticket.

Extremely poor communication

Based on advice from friends, I hired Jeannie Mucklestone to handle a traffic ticket for me. I mailed her the details of the case and a copy of my car registration along with a check. I called about a week later to discuss the case with her and see if she needed any additional information. She was ab...rupt with me on the phone, said she didn't need any info, and that the court date was a month later so I shouldn't worry. She said I did not need to attend the hearing. My next contact with her was the day of the hearing when she a left a voice message on my cell phone saying that she had some questions for me about the case and that I needed to return her call in the next 10 minutes. Unfortunately, I did not receive her call until about 45 minutes later. When I did return her call, the hearing was over. To her credit, she had gotten a deferred finding, but I was quite unhappy with her level of professional behavior. I believe the outcome of the case could have been different had we been able to discuss the details of the case before the hearing.
