Miracle worker
Karen Oakes literally saved the day! while going through escrow I was informed there was a lien against me, I tried contacting the lawyer who did my bankruptcy for 2 weeks when I finally was able to get through I was told I would have to go to small claims court. The assistant suggested I call Karen Oakes. The day before closing I called and was transferred directly to her, She listened and said not to worry she would take care of it! The next morning the title company called to let me know I was a home owner and that they had a check for me in the amount of the lien! My only regret is that I did not go with her originally! If you want something done right and by a true professional who actually cares, call Karen Oakes!

Family Trust
Completing a family trust during a pandemic seemed a bit daunting, but Karen and her staff made it simple. We could not meet in person but via telephone and email all the necessary paperwork and detailed instructions were sent to me. I was able to complete all in my own time and schedule. They made it easy and I would highly recommend them!

Life saver
I came into contact with Karen after my divorce. My ex-husband left me with a ton of debt that after two years of trying to handle on my own I just couldn't handle anymore. I had no idea where to go what to do, and with the way I was raised I was extremely embarrassed. I went in for my consultation at which time i was made to feel like I was any other person and had no reason to be embarrassed. I was made to feel very comfortable and I left feeling extremely confident. I was very well taken care of. So I hired Karen. She had great client education she was there with me every step of the way. Phone calls, e-mails, any correspondence was usually gotten back to within 24 to 48 hours. Since then I have sent two other people to her and if anybody brings it up I actually would recommend her again.

Competent, Kind and Knowledgeable
I met With Karen October 31, 2014 and I came away from that meeting knowing I was dealing with a true professional. I was assigned a "homework packet" and Karen personally reviewed with me every page of the 60-page document. As a former para-legal I could see her office is run like a well-oiled machine. Karen and her staff gave me personal attention and I came away with a clear idea of the bankruptcy process.

Legal Issues Resolved
After dealing with an incompetent lawyer in a different state on a chapter 13. Karen was able to help us solve the issue and she went after the other lawyer for his incompetence with excellent results. My wife and i felt she was very helpful in resolving our legal issue and kept us well informed in recovering from our past issue. We would use her services again and have mentioned her name and office to others looking for a qualified attorney. Thank you Karen for helping us.

A helpful attorney and my past divorce
Karen helped me through a divorce twelve years ago. She did exactly what I asked . When Karen could not gives me an immediate answer she did the research to find the correct wording etc. I found Karen pleasant to work with before and after the process was over. She was positive and knowledgeable in all of her proceedings.

Teriffic Lawyer to solve your financial issues
Karen was very easy to work with. Professional when needed and financial coach when that was appropriate. Her staff was friendly and ethical when handling my inquiries. I would recommend Karen to assist you in solving your financial problems.

She helped when my first lawyer screwed everything up!
The first lawyer I went to made a mess of my chapter 7 paperwork and filed everything incorrectly. He spent a total of 20 minutes with me as a consultation and then met me at the court for my hearing. After the hearing the court wrote a letter to my lawyer saying that I needed to provide more documentation but he didn't know what to do. That's when I found Karen. She helped immensely! She dealt with the court for months trying to get them to understand my particular situation and the end I did end up filing chapter 13. She was patient with me and helped me understand the severity of the situation and the amount of money it would cost to fight further. Two years later when I lost my job due to illness she helped me filed for Chapter 7. I'm so thankful to Karen and all the care and consideration she took with me. It was a very difficult and stressful time in my life and I appreciate what she did very much.

High Regard for Oakes Law Office
Ms. Oakes was extremely helpful during my stressful legal process, explaining each step along the way. Articulate yet sympathetic, she maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the time we worked together. Ms. Oakes' demeanor was courteous and competent, and I felt she advised me well and in my best interest. I found her to be honest and forthright. I have recommended her to several people and would definitely seek her services in future legal matters.

Highly Recommend! Very Knowledgeable!
Due to Karen's expertise and knowledge regarding bankruptcy, my Chapter 13 was handled promptly and smoothly. Payments to the trustee are manageable, I'm able to pay the remaining bills, buy groceries, fuel, etc., and still have a little left over for emergencies, incidentals, etc. She and her staff answered all of my questions without hesitation and guided me through the whole process. If bankruptcy may be a possibility for you, I would highly recommend that you meet with Karen, explain your situation so she can advise accordingly, such as whether bankruptcy will really help in your situation, which type of bankruptcy is best, and then a thorough explanation of the complete process and what to expect during the process. Thanks Karen!

Best in Town
Karen was there to help us when we needed it. She took the time to sit down and to speak with us, go over the paperwork and to fight for us. The creditor phone calls stopped. It's been 4 years, and thanks to Karen, we are back on track. It was worth every penny for her service. She knows what she is doing, and is the best in town. With her guidance, we are paying off our debt, kept our house, and we are able to breath peacefully again. Thank You Karen

She cares about her clients!
Ms. Oakes made me feel like my hopeless situation was going to be solved, After my divorce I was left holding all of the debts and raising the kids. She made me feel like a real person and that she cared. She never made me feel less-than or a failure. She was right there every step I had to take. whenever I needed her she was always there for me. Even today she is helping me to clean-up my credit rating. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend Karen Oakes to anyone who wants someone that is knowledgeable and really cares. My understanding is that she spends her own money to attend educational conferences to stay up-to-date and give us "The People" the help she says we deserve. A chance to start over. I believe that is what bankruptcy is all about. Those of us who have found themselves in situations who have tried their best to fix and could not. She has given me hope, advice and a knowledge that now, I use and a chance for a new start in my life. I cannot say thank you enough.

Great experience
The thought of filing bankruptcy was scary and overwhelming. I was lucky to find Karen! After our first conversation I was confident she would be able to help me with the entire bankruptcy process. There were times it was overwhelming. Karen, Tabitha, and Liberty we're always patient and willing to help every step of the way. I was in the middle of a MVA lawsuit and at the end of my bankruptcy I was able to keep my settlement. Great customer service! Very honest and professional. I'm very happy with my experience.

Wouldn't return phone calls, emails
Needed questions answered, no return phone calls or emails for over 5 days or more. Felt like I fell through the cracks, on my own. Failed to follow through on submitting paperwork, I contacted new attorney mid way through.
Response from Karen Oakes February 21, 2019
I disagree with this assessment but have no way of contacting this reviewer as it was left anonymously. I encourage anyone with questions about the quality of my representation to ask to see my book of clients' surveys, which are available for review upon request. If this person was seeking legal representation for a matter outside the scope of my legal practice, I would not have accepted representation or provided paperwork. I also do not provide specific legal answers unless the person has retained my services. "A Lawyer's Advice is their stock in trade" ~ Abraham Lincoln

Very poor attorney. She was happy to take my money (over $4000) and the would NEVER return my calls. I lost my job and wanted to talk to her about getting my payments to the bank trustee lowered. I called her the week I lost my job. For the next 6 months I called over 30, (that's right, 30 TIMES!!) and she would never speak to me or return my calls. She did have her receptionist call me back a couple of time. Needless to say, my bankrupcy went into default and they ended up repossessing my truck. Tough to look for work when you lose your transportation. I paid $360 a month to the trustee to make payments, all he did was pay himself and Karen Oakes. Thanks again for the return phone calls Karen, you are the worst!!!!
