Best Attorney

I retained Jamie shortly after my ex started hiding my child from me. A few weeks after I filed for divorce I started getting DHS complaints, but she quickly got a court order to go back to 50/50 time like we had done before. Over the 2+ years of this divorce I received several, several more complain...ts to DHS from my ex, or mandatory reporters my ex would talk to. Jamie helped me navigate this process with DHS. She was very realistic in what my expectations should be and never gave me false hope which I feel others would do in order to keep you as a client. This was a significant case of Parental alienation with several DHS complaints. Her guidance was key in helping me through this as her support was amazing. I felt so significantly protected by her and her reputation at the court house. By the time we got to court after 2 years of struggles my ex had started hiding my child from me again for almost 2 months. We went to court and I was able to get 50/50 parenting time because of her. Through her hard work and attention to detail she was able to discover that DHS was actually concerned about my ex at the point of getting the divorce, and that law enforcement was as well. She had them testify which was significant for me and my child (who by this point had his own attorney that wasn't willing to meet with me. They would only meet with my ex and my child). Jamie stood her ground very well against two attorneys and was able to show the judge it was in my child's best interest to have me involved. She was able to articulate the concern for parental alienation in a way that allowed the judge to see what was happening. As a result of this the judge ordered and reunification expert be involved who has developed concerns for what my child goes through with me ex. Although at first she was very direct with me, as time went on and she saw the concerning patterns emerging, she had such empathy for me which I found very helpful during that struggling time. I would recommend her to anyone that I felt was honest. My best piece of advice is never try and be less than truthful with any attorney, but especially with her. I did feel that she fought so hard for me and my child because I was honest with her and provided documents initially that helped show that. But as time went on it was her hard work that discovered more documents that supported my case. I fully plan to retain her until my child is 18 as I feel she protected him when I felt like I wasn't able to. I hold her in such high respect for the great person, and attorney she is.

Outstanding High Conflict Divorce Attorney

Our son hired Jamie Hazlett because he had heard she was an excellent high conflict divorce/custody attorney. Our sons case was a 2 year journey, which also included DHS involvement. Ms Hazlett was very knowledgeable, compassionate, and went into the court room prepared for battle. She has excel...lent case building skills, is highly organized and is on top of her game at all times. We had many questions but never felt rushed. Her office staff was exceptional. If you are going through a high conflict divorce/ custody battle that may include DHS involvement Ms Hazlett is the right attorney for you. We highly recommend her.

Very pleased

I sought out Jaime after a friend told me of his experience; even though he was on the opposing side, "I can't deny that Hazlett knows her stuff. She pinned me in court and I have to admit that she was in the right. She's a great lawyer, mine didn't stand a chance." My case involved custody of 1 joi...nt child with my ex-husband. Our case involved CPS, Medford PD, Children's Advocates, etc. Jamie was considerate of the situation and very honest; She worked proactively with me to come to a resolution that appeased the court as well as deter any additional negative 'air' between myself and my ex-husband. I am very thankful for her services and will recommend her to anyone.

Not a good attorney

My daughter and I hired Jamie for a complicated custody battle over my grandson. Jamie did not listen to what my daughter tried to tell her about her ex who is manipulative and abusive. In the end Jamie made the situation even more complicated and worse, dangerous for my grandson. She over charged us... for things she did not do correctly and made the whole thing so much harder than it had to be. If your case involves children, don't hire her. She has only her own best interest at heart.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I am pleased to provide this unsolicited endorsement of Jamie Hazlett. This lawyer is the most actively engaged lawyer I have ever seen in helping others in the Southern Oregon community. She has served as President of the Jackson County Bar and as President of Rogue Woman Lawyers. During her tenure in these positions she did an exceptional job. She worked tirelessly to create a fund raising event for the Maslow Project, an organization that supports homeless teens. She is a very pleasant person and compassionate. She is well known in the community as an outstanding family law lawyer. She is well liked and respected by the Circuit Court judges she appears before and a leader among her peers. There are not many lawyers that impress me with their skills, but I have always admired and respected Jamie Hazlett because she is quite impressive. I highly recommend Jamie Hazlett."
