Jamie Hazlett

The one star review on June 9th was simply incorrect and written by my ex who recently went up against Jamie. I hired her and have been working with her and her firm for over two years. She has always been eloquent and professional, but tough when it came to the opposing counsel. My experience with J...amie has been very positive through a rough case. Jamie made me always feel like my matter was a priority, that she was extremely competent with all the laws, and most importantly, had my daughters well being at the forefront of her mind. I cannot recommend Jamie enough and would use her again in a heartbeat!

When I was beginning the process of choosing representation for my divorce, it was actually recommended to me, more than once, to schedule a consult with Ms. Hazlett, specifically with the intention to make a booking conflict so that the opposing side could not retain her. After my consult, I felt so... confident that I retained Ms. Hazlett myself! Ms. Hazlett was calm, confident, knowledgeable, and reassuring. Her team has been just as excellent. They are friendly, organized, kind, professional, and always on top of the details of my case. Communication is prompt and clear. My questions are answered quickly and followed up on, as is filing paperwork on my behalf with the court. I genuinely feel like they are on my team. I have had a great experience working with Ms. Hazlett and her team, and recommend them definitely.

I highly recommend Jamie, and all the support her firm provided me when I needed it the most. I had never needed a lawyer in my life before some legal action taken against me during a break up/property dispute found me in immediate need of legal representation. The situation found me suddenly in one ...of the most confusing and concerning situations I'd ever experienced... and Jamie understood that more than anyone else I consulted with. Her thoroughness was outstanding, and guided me to providing her with everything she needed to prove our case in court. Her willingness to make herself available to me for case prep was outstanding... and especially appreciated by an anxious client like myself. I felt constantly informed, collaborated with, and prioritized throughout the process. And after assembling an extremely sizable amount of evidence for our case... in court she was prepared, versed in every detail, and exactly who I needed in my corner. In both legal expertise, and her ability to empathize with the personal goals/needs of her clients, Jamie was truly the right person for me to work with. And I would recommend her to anyone. Additionally, she's been a valuable resource for me after the case to make some significant legal decisions in my life going forward.

I retained Jamie shortly after my ex started hiding my child from me. A few weeks after I filed for divorce I started getting DHS complaints, but she quickly got a court order to go back to 50/50 time like we had done before. Over the 2+ years of this divorce I received several, several more complain...ts to DHS from my ex, or mandatory reporters my ex would talk to. Jamie helped me navigate this process with DHS. She was very realistic in what my expectations should be and never gave me false hope which I feel others would do in order to keep you as a client. This was a significant case of Parental alienation with several DHS complaints. Her guidance was key in helping me through this as her support was amazing. I felt so significantly protected by her and her reputation at the court house. By the time we got to court after 2 years of struggles my ex had started hiding my child from me again for almost 2 months. We went to court and I was able to get 50/50 parenting time because of her. Through her hard work and attention to detail she was able to discover that DHS was actually concerned about my ex at the point of getting the divorce, and that law enforcement was as well. She had them testify which was significant for me and my child (who by this point had his own attorney that wasn't willing to meet with me. They would only meet with my ex and my child). Jamie stood her ground very well against two attorneys and was able to show the judge it was in my child's best interest to have me involved. She was able to articulate the concern for parental alienation in a way that allowed the judge to see what was happening. As a result of this the judge ordered and reunification expert be involved who has developed concerns for what my child goes through with me ex. Although at first she was very direct with me, as time went on and she saw the concerning patterns emerging, she had such empathy for me which I found very helpful during that struggling time. I would recommend her to anyone that I felt was honest. My best piece of advice is never try and be less than truthful with any attorney, but especially with her. I did feel that she fought so hard for me and my child because I was honest with her and provided documents initially that helped show that. But as time went on it was her hard work that discovered more documents that supported my case. I fully plan to retain her until my child is 18 as I feel she protected him when I felt like I wasn't able to. I hold her in such high respect for the great person, and attorney she is.
