Divorce

I hired Jamie to help in my divorce and child custody. All she seemed to care about was money and the case was drug out for over a year. She never communicated with me by phone and seemed to lack any sort of wanting to truly help. There were many errors in paperwork and a huge lack in communication w...ith her and her staff. I would have two different people sending me two completely different bills. She did a very poor job at representing me and my divorce could have been over with a lot sooner than it was. I would not ever recommend her to anyone.

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed in my services. It is rare that we have complaints regarding our billing. It does not suprise me that a client would receive two different bills. We send out a new bill each month. My office is one of the only offices in Jackson County that offers reduced fees based on income. In doing so, we try to provide our services at a lower cost than most offices. We always make it a practice to allow several chances to get current on bills or get current on payment plans, but an unfortunate part of my job is that I have to withdraw if a bill cannot be made current or a payment plan worked out. We also make sure never to charge for questions about billing or billing concerns. Unfortunately I cannot speak to this particular matter as the person has not identified themselves, nor contacted me directly, but if the former client has a concern I would hope they would contact me directly and I would strive to make the issue right and correct any practices which need to be addressed for future matters.

Really knows her stuff

Jamie knew exactly what was needed to win my case. She also was VERY good at getting my opposition to tell the truth. She was relentless in her defense of me. I wish I had hired her for my divorce. Considering asking if she would be co-council because of how good she is.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I am pleased to provide this unsolicited endorsement of Jamie Hazlett. This lawyer is the most actively engaged lawyer I have ever seen in helping others in the Southern Oregon community. She has served as President of the Jackson County Bar and as President of Rogue Woman Lawyers. During her tenure in these positions she did an exceptional job. She worked tirelessly to create a fund raising event for the Maslow Project, an organization that supports homeless teens. She is a very pleasant person and compassionate. She is well known in the community as an outstanding family law lawyer. She is well liked and respected by the Circuit Court judges she appears before and a leader among her peers. There are not many lawyers that impress me with their skills, but I have always admired and respected Jamie Hazlett because she is quite impressive. I highly recommend Jamie Hazlett."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2026.

Reprimand issued in OR, 2026

This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
