Fantastic Representation

Michael stepped into the middle of a messy situation with the bank/me/courts/short-sale. He listened and understood exactly what was happening and what needed to be done to solve the immediate issues at hand. He was quick and to the point. He didn't waste any of my time or money. I'd highly recomme...nd.

Judy, I saw that you stopped and took time out of your busy life to share these kind words and it brightened my day. Thanks! I wish you the very best going forward.

Too good for words.

Mr. Shurtleff worked with us and kept us informed on every aspect of retaining our house. He has extensive knowledge in foreclosure law and we are so grateful to him and his staff. Thank you so much.

Taking the first step was easier than I expected.

My situation was very detailed and I did not know where to begin, and he patiently listened when I explained. Michael addressed each issue with great advice and I now know the direction to proceed. His help was invaluable and I look forward to working on the steps to a resolution with his help in t...he near future. I would highly recommend him to anyone dealing with the threat of foreclosure.

Eviction and Restraining Order Fairly and Legally Dealt With

A friend of mine actually found Michael Aaron Shurtleff on the internet, when I was looking for an attorney to handle a difficult tenant who was not paying their rent and not complying with other requirements of their rental agreement. Attorney Shurtleff, quickly gathered pertinent facts necessary to... move forward, providing the tenant the legal notifications and timelines necessary to comply. When the tenant continued not to comply with each step, Attorney Shurtleff, capably followed the landlord - tenant laws for this difficult case, with the tenant continuing a pattern of non-compliance and threatening behavior. Mr. Shurtleff represented me at court hearings and provided oversight of supervised times for the tenant to remove their belongings after sheriff's eviction. It was a really difficult time in our lives and Mr. Shurtleff explained each process well; prepared me for what the next steps would entail, should the tenant not comply; performed each step of the legal process in a confident, timely and organized manner, which helped us greatly through a really hard time in our lives. Add to this, Mr. Shurtleff was kind, understanding and always kept me informed. And he also demonstrated kindness to the person whose choices resulted in the eviction. It was really an impossible situation, made bearable -- a situation that without Mr. Shurtleff's competent, capable, and compassionate work, could have ended very badly. His integrity is beyond reproach and we will forever be in his debt for helping our family through such a difficult legal process. We highly recommend Michael Aaron Shurteff.

Sincere Desire to Help

As a former client of Mr. Shurtleff, I believe he has his clients best interest at heart and a sincere desire to help people. He was always very respectful and patient with me. He took the time to explain everything and gave me the best advice for my situation. Mr. Shurtleff went above and beyond..., in my estimation, in dealing with my case. Having a legal issue is very stressful, but having a reassuring, calming attorney on your side helps a great deal.

"I endorse this lawyer. Why? If you read answers to questions by persons on AVVO and compare the answers you will notice Michael takes the time to carefully and fully (and accurately) explain the answer to the questions when possible. Click on answers of his here on AVVO and you will see what I mean. Having practiced myself 29 years and filed over 5,400 bankruptcy petitions I appreciate newer attorneys (but he has substantial experience already) who take the time to give your information that you sought. After all, is that not why you asked? So go to an attorney who you will receive such quality representation by. Great job to Michael too! Sincerely, Richard D. Granvold in nearby Washington State!"

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
