Biography
Sanam “Sam” Dowlatdad is a trial lawyer with nearly 100 trials under her belt. Her practice focuses on personal injury and criminal defense.
Prior to practicing civil law, Sam was a Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney, where she prosecuted a variety of cases, including DUIIs, Ballot Measure 11 crimes, domestic violence, gun and gang cases, financial fraud, and elder abuse. Sam knows how the police conduct their investigations and how the prosecutors prepare cases for trial. In all stages of a prosecution, Sam will effectively advocate for a client accused of a crime to achieve the best result possible.
Prior to becoming a plaintiff's personal injury, Sam practiced at one of Portland’s oldest and most reputable law firms, where she defended insurance companies and individuals against a variety of claims, including personal injury, professional malpractice and intentional torts.
Sam was born in Tehran, Iran. She is fluent in Farsi and is active in Portland’s Persian-American community. Sam is proud to call herself an Oregonian. She grew up in Seaside and attended college and law school at Willamette University.
Sam donates much of her time to various charitable organizations. She currently serves on the Hands On Greater Portland Board of Directors. In her free time, Sam enjoys outdoor activities such as running, bicycling, downhill skiing, and golfing.
