Hire Him Now

Tom picked up a pretty complicated case that didnt have a clear-cut winner. He was overly patient and understanding. When he had a suggested course of action, he laid everything out and even gives you his very best guess of each outcome, with context. Tom explained each and every part of the proce...ss... and he did it without ever being disingenuous with billing. His assistant Alex is warm and inviting as well as efficient. Alex was always communicative when Tom wasnt able or necessary. Tom was so good, cordial and timely that even the opposition preferred to communicate with him instead of their own counsel, and fired them. Tom won my case the very best it could and it was because of the legal maneuvers he suggested. It delayed the outcome, it costed almost twice as much as expected... and Tom explained each and every reason why things resulted as such. We won, I got exponentially more time with my daughter. Tom is a man of his word and if you dont hire him right now, theres a chance youll see him at the other side's table... and I promise you, that is not an opponent you want to have.

Gives the best advice, and never stopped fighting.

It took over 5 years, but we won. He saw the injustices and kept giving balanced practical advice. Tom would listen to us, go over the pros and cons. Even if he disagreed, he would go with our choices. He was fair, worked with us financially, and the most important of all he kept on fighting. Tom ne...ver threw his hands up and said "I'm done." He never raised his rates. He never got angry, even when he told us "this was one of the hardest cases he's ever worked on." Tom changed our family. If there was a way to give him a 6 star review for his work ethic and unyielding efforts, we would do it.

Tom was able to get me a very difficult to get Emergency order

I couldn't disagree more with the 2 "anonymous" reviews on here. ( I never put any value to reviews that are "anonymous" ) I've had one attorney prior to Tom. Tom is definitely not motivated by trying to make money off his clients. These processes are expensive, period. Especially if you're involv...ed in a contentious legal battle. I find Tom straight forward, fair in his costs, & he did an excellent job for me in court for an emergency order. These types of legal battles can be emotionally taxing, Hire a good therapist to help you through the emotional stress. Your attorney is there to fight the legal issues for you in a court of law. Tom did an excellent job with utilizing the right evidence I provided him to get my Emergency Order.

There is a reason for all the recent "glowing" reviews!

On March 17th I received a call from Tom telling me, in summary, that I had paid enough for what I hired him to do and he was going to return the balance of my retainer and complete the rest of the work as a courtesy. I was shocked, impressed and relieved! at the end of the conversation he added in "...oh by the way, if you wouldn't mind, my wife says my avvo could use a little help". I readily agreed but when I saw the older reviews I decided to wait to see how far he would go "as a courtesy" and fill out the review based on the whole experience. so here it is. I hired Tom in July of 2014 for 1)an uncontested divorce 2)to have my child support case moved to Oregon and 3) modify the support amount since I was currently a total of $200 a month to raise my 2 children. According to our initial consultation the divorce portion should have been around 1k and as long as nothing was disputed or contested my initial $2500 retainer should cover the divorce and support case. Directly from an email from him - 4. Honestly the modification proceeding will be time consuming. I expect that process will cost about $1,500, possibly more if he objects to it. I explained the logistics during our first meeting. Who lived where, who moved when etc. If he didn't know what was involved in completing what I hired him to do then that should have been disclosed in our first meeting. I expect to pay for knowledge and experience not to have someone try to figure out what to do, try a bunch of options and have none of them work. I gave Tom a total of $4000. My divorce was completed timely with no troubles so according to his first estimate $1000. He returned a whopping $212 for my remaining retainer. So basically I paid him $2800 to accomplish nothing on my support/modification. That's also after catching a $215 double bill one month. His billings don't make sense. I was charged for both him and his assistant to prepare an affidavit and meet with me on the same day. $86 to review an affidavit that they prepared I just signed and returned. If you're resending and resending the same docs over and over I don't think it should cost more than your initial draft of the documents and sending them in the first place. It goes on and on. And the final outcome? from his last email - Oregon does not have a procedure to compel Nevada to accept the signed consent. Nevada seems to be refusing to accept the signed consent to transfer jurisdiction. Without Nevada's consent, we seem to be completely blocked from switching jurisdiction to Oregon. I can keep trying if you'd like to see if I can find someone more helpful in Nevada, but it seems you may be stuck with keeping child support in Nevada despite our best efforts. Also during all this the modification I filed myself with Nevada before hiring Tom went through and my support was increased to $200 a month for each child. So ultimately I was able to accomplish more myself and quicker. It's still a ridiculous amount of money to try to raise children on and it would have been nice to have someone fight for you.

Definitely an Attorney I would recommend!

Tom Brasier recently helped my brother establish paternity for his daughter and then agreed to continue on as his attorney to help him gain full parental custody. This was not an easy case by any means as there were many challenges throughout the process. Tom was very knowledgeable and explai...ned things so that our family was aware of what to expect throughout the entire process. He was always professional and honest with us. He was very personable and knew all of us by first name within only a couple of meetings. During the court hearings I had an opportunity to remain in the courtroom. Mr. Brasier was confident in his interaction with the Judge and his arguments for our case were outstanding in comparison to the other attorney. You could tell he was prepared and new from personal experience how to successfully address the Judge presiding over our case. He did so well that the last court date that was expected to be a full day ended up being only a couple of hours with no testimony having to be brought before the judge. He had successfully negotiated the case himself in the Judge's chambers and was able to win my brother full custody of his daughter. I am so thankful my brother found Tom as his attorney! He went above and beyond and was able to get my niece removed from a harmful living situation to the arms of a father who loved her and wanted to provide a stable loving home life! Our family will be forever grateful!
