Tom Brasier

Recently, my old settlement had to be reopened and I hired a lawyer. What I learned from this new attorney is that I had learned very little from my first round with Mr Brasier years ago. When working with him he would get impatient when I had questions. He even left me a frustrated and unprofessi...onal message about not having reloaded my retainer yet when I actually had (he just hadn’t communicated with his secretary). Years later, I’m finding out that my settlement is poorly written, a result of both attorneys involved, with ambiguities in the language that are creating problems for me and costing me more money. I’m learning from my current attorney about rights I’ve had all along regarding custody, tax credits, and child support that Tom never informed me of. My current attorney cares about informing me of my rights and giving me the information I need to make good choices. When I recently called Mr Brasier to ask a question about my settlement, he joked that he never remembers his clients. While this may be true, it certainly doesn’t seem like something worth saying out loud.

Tom hit it out of the park for me! I would use him again in a heartbeat. If you're on the fence between Tom and another attorney - go with Tom. I've worked with a few attorneys over the years in Portland - Tom is by far the best I've had. My ex-wife and I were disagreeing with parenting time and m...y son's wellbeing when all of a sudden I was slapped with a Restraining Order (based on lies). The RO was used as a tool against me to prevent me from exercising parenting time. If I lost my hearing where I got to contest it, it would have been disastrous for me and my family! Tom was able to explain all the potential avenues we could take and navigate me through the entire process which really helped me calm my nerves. When we went to court, Tom's steady demeanor helped me again remain confident that we could win. In the end, it wasn't even close - Tom helped me get the RO dismissed in it's entirety!! I plan to keep him on retainer for whenever I need help with any more drama that may come up throughout the years. Tom is well worth it! I have zero complaints. I wouldn't be where I am today without him!

Tom Brasier was the second lawyer I obtained for my custody case in Vancouver Washington and I am extremely grateful that I chose to work with Tom. He was very trustworthy and treated me like an actual human being. He has helped me get through every stage of my parenting plan and never talked to me l...ike a robot that just wanted money ( which I completely respect ) He was very straight forward and kept me informed on what was going on with the other parties involved. I have found his prices reasonable.

I retained Tom a couple of years ago for a complicated child custody case. Tom was very proactive in attacking my case, and was great at applying pressure to the opposing counsel to follow through. My attorney prior to Tom was one who did very little and seemed to have trouble getting motions filed. ...Tom and his staff seemed to do a great job with getting my motions filed. He was very understanding that I didn't have unlimited funds, and he was able to keep our conversations direct and to the point. I'm a man, and I ended up getting full custody of my daughter which was the best conceivable outcome in our case. I understand that every case is different and no lawyer can promise an outcome. However, had I listened to the advice of the attorney I had before Tom then things wouldn't have turned out well. If I hadn't retained Tom and taken the legal tact we used then I am certain that my daughter would still be exposed to an unhealthy situation.

He is the worst lawyer you can find in town. He would tell you, you have an easy case and later on charge you $15000 for dragging the case as long as it can take. He loves to go to court and make it expensive. Every time you call him, it feels like he is talking to you for the first time. He doesn't ...remember the case. You always have to remind him about the important dates on your case, otherwise he would not remember. He doesn't even care if his clients lose or something is not to the client's best interest. He is just horrible. The only time he would pay attention to your case is when he needs money. He would contact you many times and ask for money and later on charge you for time that he spent asking for payment.
