One Very Happy Client
Scott has been great to work with, always quick to respond to questions, excellent follow-up, and even better on reminding me of what I need to do to make sure and not miss any deadlines on my part. Any time I checked on him, he always had already taken care of the issue. If I had a list of what makes a perfect attorney, Scott checked all the boxes.

Amazing SSDI attorney
Scott took over my case when the case went to federal court and he was amazing. He was able to complete and win our case after an 8 year battle in the courts. Susan and Erin were amazing assistants in gathering all additional information and communications. Both Scott and the firm are highly recommended.

Disability Case Review
I hired Scott for my disability claim with SSA. He and his staff, Susan and Erin, were professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. My claim involved difficult issues and required 2 court appearances, but Scott understood the legal issues and was confident in his understanding of the legal basis on how the judge would rule. I cannot recommend Scott, his staff, and his firm enough for their excellent legal services and how it has made a profound positive impact on my life and the life of my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Scott!

Compassionate and rigorous representation.
Being an attorney myself, I have high standards for an attorney whom I choose to represent me. Scott and his staff were extremely professional, very responsive, and thorough. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Sell to anyone looking for representation is a disability case. I am extremely pleased with both his representation in the case and my result.

Truly Great!
Scott and Holly, and the entire staff of Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost did a wonderful job putting together my case for Social Security Disability, but most importantly support and assistance with troubles and difficulty AFTER the decision was rendered. They have contacts and experience that is just not available to most firms, let alone the average citizen. They were very professional and approachable and made me feel comfortable with the process by answering all of my questions and concerns. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Migraines and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and I know...

Social Security Disibility
I was referred to Scott Sell from another previous lawyer I had. I hired Scott after I was denied with the social security office. Scott explained in my initial consultation what was going to happen and what the fee would be, which he only gets paid after we won the case. Scott was awesome and everyone in his office was very pleasant. Scott did a great job on making sure I had all the necessary paperwork lined up for my hearing. I would recommend him in a heart beat. I won my case and I am very blessed to have him as my lawyer. Thank you Scott :)

Intelligent! Knowledgeable! Detailed Oriented! CARING!
My significant other had been hit by a car and was severely wounded. Her foot was reattached to her leg, as her bones were crushed and the foot torn almost completely off. She had had to thru numerous surgeries. She is in chronic, severe pain, every single moment. She isn’t able to walk around on her foot for more than two hours total in a day and even that causes her great pain. She isn’t able to work. She needs help to get thru the day. It’s devastating for her, as her life was turned upside down by a person not paying attention so wasn’t obeying traffic laws, while operating a motor vehicle. When you look into the eyes of the one you have loved for 15 years and see the pain, the loss of life, the hopelessness, and the physical inability to be able to provide for themselves financial or medically; what do you do? You fight! YOU FIGHT for every moment you can get to put a smile on your loved ones face. YOU FIGHT to see the light in their eyes again! YOU FIGHT for them to see the hope! To find happiness in each day! How do you do that? YOU show them you care and you make sure they get the best care from the medical providers. You show them how much you care by fighting for their rights to independence. You hold their hand, and encourage them to advocate for themselves. What do you do when you are denied financial benefits? What do you do when you are physically unable to provide monetarily for yourself? What do you do when you have been told by attorney’s that they can’t help you or WONT help you? What do you do when you don’t know what to start? You find an ATTORNEY. An attorney that will not only advocate for you, but an attorney that cares and works hard to fight for YOU. We were referred to THOMAS, COON, NEWTON & FROST (Portland Law Firm) by my significant others accident attorney, once that case was closed. There was very little money that came from that. My significant others surgeon was quite clear after a couple years, that her issues were about as good as they were going to get and she was miserable. Our lives were turned upside down in every way. We didn’t know what to expect. From the moment we spoke with the staff, we felt respected. Scott and Erin took detailed information and did research on my significant others condition and medical records before accepting my significant others case. They explained that they would take her case. We would scan and email every doctor visit summary, new doctors information, new prescription information, any and all medical information we would get from each appointment. It took a second appeal and a couple years, but they did not waiver. Scott and Erin just kept building my significant others file until the day we could get before a judge. That day came and less than 2 weeks later, we had the judge’s decision and my partner was awarded her disability. Scott called us as soon as he knew. I got off that phone call and just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. This wasn’t just money coming in each month, this was independence for my significant other. This was new hope! This was the fleck of light that I dreamed to see back in my significant others eyes again. Scott, Erin and the wonderful team at THOMAS, COON, NEWTON & FROST are beyond words WONDERFUL! They are smart! They are detailed! They do the research and put together a fully detailed file. They care! THEY FIGHT FOR YOU! It took me a couple months to really get this review how I wanted it. I kept changing it, because I was afraid to sound like a sales add for these wonderful attorneys and that is not the impression I wanted to leave. Then it dawned on me, YES IT IS! This FIRM cares! The ENTIRE STAFF CARES! They Fight! They are intelligent! I am trying to sell them to you because there isn’t another attorney out there that I would recommend for this fight to independence, for the one I love! That is a FACT!

Highly recommended!
Scott Sells, Erin (his assistant) and the staff of Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost did a wonderful job putting together my application for Social Security Disability. They were very professional and approachable and made me feel comfortable with the process by answering all of my questions and concerns. I suffer from Fibromyalgia, Chronic Migraines and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and I know that I would have struggled greatly with the process if I tried doing the application on my own. Before I came in for my meeting with Scott and Erin they reassured me that their office was prepared for individuals with chemical sensitivities, so I felt understood from the beginning. I feel fortunate that with their assistance my SSD was submitted and approved in just a little over 4 months. I would highly recommend Scott Sell and his staff! They made for a very pleasant experience.

Excellence, integrity and compassion!
I consulted with and hired Scott Sell after researching and consulting with several other attorneys. Scott’s ability to share his extensive legal knowledge through clear and honest communication is remarkable, and his compassion, patience and diligence around the handling of my ssdi claim was incredible. Scott’s assistant, Erin, is equally compassionate, and her professionalism, prompt responses, and willingness and ability to address client questions and concerns is a huge asset, to both the client and the firm. My specific case had a hiccup on the part of one of the disability determination employees who reviews claims for Social Security. Scott not only quickly identified this issue, but also, proactively took the steps needed to ensure that this hiccup did not become a problem or cause any delay in the processing of my claim. Scott advocated effectively on my behalf and Erin kept me updated and informed throughout every step of the process. My ssdi claim was approved and I can say with certainty that there would have been many delays and issues without the diligence, experience, and expertise of Scott and his staff. I highly recommend Scott Sell, and the Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost law firm for any SSD or SSI case.

Amazing!
My journey with the Disability process started 8 years ago. I was dealt a bad hand with bad representation for the first 7.5 years of my fight! I reached out to a Disability Attorney on the East Coast for assistance and she did some research for me, finding Scott! She said he was a highly recommended Disability Attorney in the Portland area. I simply cannot give enough Thanks & praise to Scott & Holly! They did more for me & my Disability case in 4 months, then the previous "Attorney's" did on my case in 7 years! No time wasted! I feel completely validated & was taken seriously! Living with Disabilities, of any kind, is debilitating and life changing & they understood what I had dealt with, and am still going through! They were completely and thoroughly engaged in me and my case, and therefor presented it to the Judge in a very clear picture! They were able to discuss my health issues with my Doctors! Not just "turn in" Medical and Mental health records! I asked many questions throughout our time, and they answered each one with clarity & patience! They are just the perfect package.... completely experienced and genuinely concerned to help with this daunting Disability process! He was a gift to me when I needed it the most!

Super Man
Scott and Holly are a great team. The first appointment I had with Scott and Holly, I learned more about my case in one hour than I had in two years with Heatherly Disability.

I Could Not Have Done It Without Them
I have a degenerative neurological disorder and a history of chronic daily migraines, nerve damage in my neck, and a host of co-morbidities. I crushed half of my face in an accident, lost an eye, damaged the other eye, fractured my skull, and suffer from PTSD. Social Security denied my initial claim, so I went to Scott Sell. He and his team are beyond magnificent. Because of Scott's leadership, and everyone's knowledge, experience, and expertise my claim was approved in the first round of appeals. I did not have to undergo the time and stress of a hearing, it worked out just how they anticipated. Social Security made the right decision, but I hesitate to guess the outcome had I not had Scott in my corner.

Superior service
Scott ,Holly and the rest of the staff was awesome. My husband was almost killed in motor vehicle accident. He suffered 2 beain bled plus 14 broken bones and other injuries. I tried to do it on my own and he got denied twice. So by the time Scott was hired we where in a desperate spot. We had gone through our savings and 401k because i couldnt find a job that worked with all his appointments. Scott and Holly made sure to interact with both My husband and myself which others lawyers didnt because He has short term memory and understanding issues since the accident. Holly worked extremely hard to get our case expidited and was sucessful. She made sure that understood what we need to get to her to help this process. You need to know how great that is because we where dealing with 3 lawyers at the time due to the accident. A civil attorney, prosscuting attorney and Scott, so yes easy to forget something or accidently send to the wring person. Especially when you add all his drs and therapy stuff that i have to manage. No matter where i live i will recomend Scott Sell to anyone who needs a Social Security attorney. I hope the partners see this and realize what a gem in Holly they have

Awesome Social Disability Attorney
I started my disability case with Scott's predecessor and was worried when she left the firm to do other very important work, as she was phenomenal. Scott stepped right into some very big shoes and has done an amazing job. He and his team (especially Erin) have been so kind and compassionate, they are very thorough and have worked hard with me on my case. They are full of integrity and gave me clear easy steps to follow when it came time for me to do my part of the work needed to move forward. They explained the process in words I could understand and held my hand every step of the way. Scott and his team helped me to win my case, and to start the first steps of getting my life back. I have nothing but gratitude for this gentle, humble man. He always stayed calm and collected...even when I was not. He never made me feel ashamed of my tears or my struggle, he just held the space for me to be me.

Fabulous Lawyer & Firm
Scott is a fabulous lawyer (as is his assistant Erin). He is very kind, patient, caring, warm, and takes the time to listen and help with any concerns and questions. I had a very difficult case as I have extremely difficult health issues and did not have the highest of hopes of winning my case. I was thankful this firm even took me on. I'm even more so thankful having had Scott as my lawyer. Scott called me just this morning to tell me we won the case! We were to go to court this Friday and did not even have to go in. We won as an “on the record” decision, which I understand is very rare. With this wonderful news, I also have had a huge relief lifted.

Excellent Social Security Disability Attorney
Scott Sell was very attentive to my case, and made the process as organized and as clear as possible. I felt like I knew what to expect at each turn. Scott is very kind and smart. He is easy to talk to as well and is very gifted at simplifying the process as much as possible for the client. I would highly recommend him to others like me with disabilities who are applying for Social Security benefits. I believe that Scott's help and expertise were very important in my qualifying for benefits.

Fantastic job
I had a very challenging disability case, since I don't look sick, I have a post-graduate education and had been earning a high income in recent years. Scott did a great job laying out our case both for me and the judge, and following up prior our supplemental hearing before a medical expert with strong research proof in support of my case. He was also always kind, patient and accessible through the process.

Scott and his staff are outstanding
Scott and his staff took over my case from a mega crap group... with his professional attitude and the professionalism of his staff they were able to get me a favorable ruling... I watched others in the waiting room of the court have their council bail on them and put their claims at risk... Scott was on the spot, contacting me in advance and explaining the process... knowing about the players and what they would do and how to counter them properly... everything was put in proper place and order and my whole time in court was 30 min... all "T"'s crossed and "I"'s doted in the best order... I feel that had I started with him I would not have had to stumble and fail... Professional, ready for anything, this guy knows his stuff, and is supported by a fantastic staff.
