Intelligent! Knowledgeable! Detailed Oriented! CARING!

My significant other had been hit by a car and was severely wounded. Her foot was reattached to her leg, as her bones were crushed and the foot torn almost completely off. She had had to thru numerous surgeries. She is in chronic, severe pain, every single moment. She isn’t able to walk around on he...r foot for more than two hours total in a day and even that causes her great pain. She isn’t able to work. She needs help to get thru the day. It’s devastating for her, as her life was turned upside down by a person not paying attention so wasn’t obeying traffic laws, while operating a motor vehicle. When you look into the eyes of the one you have loved for 15 years and see the pain, the loss of life, the hopelessness, and the physical inability to be able to provide for themselves financial or medically; what do you do? You fight! YOU FIGHT for every moment you can get to put a smile on your loved ones face. YOU FIGHT to see the light in their eyes again! YOU FIGHT for them to see the hope! To find happiness in each day! How do you do that? YOU show them you care and you make sure they get the best care from the medical providers. You show them how much you care by fighting for their rights to independence. You hold their hand, and encourage them to advocate for themselves. What do you do when you are denied financial benefits? What do you do when you are physically unable to provide monetarily for yourself? What do you do when you have been told by attorney’s that they can’t help you or WONT help you? What do you do when you don’t know what to start? You find an ATTORNEY. An attorney that will not only advocate for you, but an attorney that cares and works hard to fight for YOU. We were referred to THOMAS, COON, NEWTON & FROST (Portland Law Firm) by my significant others accident attorney, once that case was closed. There was very little money that came from that. My significant others surgeon was quite clear after a couple years, that her issues were about as good as they were going to get and she was miserable. Our lives were turned upside down in every way. We didn’t know what to expect. From the moment we spoke with the staff, we felt respected. Scott and Erin took detailed information and did research on my significant others condition and medical records before accepting my significant others case. They explained that they would take her case. We would scan and email every doctor visit summary, new doctors information, new prescription information, any and all medical information we would get from each appointment. It took a second appeal and a couple years, but they did not waiver. Scott and Erin just kept building my significant others file until the day we could get before a judge. That day came and less than 2 weeks later, we had the judge’s decision and my partner was awarded her disability. Scott called us as soon as he knew. I got off that phone call and just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed. This wasn’t just money coming in each month, this was independence for my significant other. This was new hope! This was the fleck of light that I dreamed to see back in my significant others eyes again. Scott, Erin and the wonderful team at THOMAS, COON, NEWTON & FROST are beyond words WONDERFUL! They are smart! They are detailed! They do the research and put together a fully detailed file. They care! THEY FIGHT FOR YOU! It took me a couple months to really get this review how I wanted it. I kept changing it, because I was afraid to sound like a sales add for these wonderful attorneys and that is not the impression I wanted to leave. Then it dawned on me, YES IT IS! This FIRM cares! The ENTIRE STAFF CARES! They Fight! They are intelligent! I am trying to sell them to you because there isn’t another attorney out there that I would recommend for this fight to independence, for the one I love! That is a FACT!

Excellence, integrity and compassion!

I consulted with and hired Scott Sell after researching and consulting with several other attorneys. Scott’s ability to share his extensive legal knowledge through clear and honest communication is remarkable, and his compassion, patience and diligence around the handling of my ssdi claim was incredi...ble. Scott’s assistant, Erin, is equally compassionate, and her professionalism, prompt responses, and willingness and ability to address client questions and concerns is a huge asset, to both the client and the firm. My specific case had a hiccup on the part of one of the disability determination employees who reviews claims for Social Security. Scott not only quickly identified this issue, but also, proactively took the steps needed to ensure that this hiccup did not become a problem or cause any delay in the processing of my claim. Scott advocated effectively on my behalf and Erin kept me updated and informed throughout every step of the process. My ssdi claim was approved and I can say with certainty that there would have been many delays and issues without the diligence, experience, and expertise of Scott and his staff. I highly recommend Scott Sell, and the Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost law firm for any SSD or SSI case.

Super Man

Scott and Holly are a great team. The first appointment I had with Scott and Holly, I learned more about my case in one hour than I had in two years with Heatherly Disability.

Excellent Social Security Attorney with Integrity

During my meeting with Scott I found him to be approachable, attentive, highly knowledgeable, and friendly. He carefully reviewed the facts and went out of his way to steer me in the right direction. I highly recommend him as an attorney. His ethics and thoroughness are just two of his many outsta...nding qualities.

Scott and his staff are outstanding

Scott and his staff took over my case from a mega crap group... with his professional attitude and the professionalism of his staff they were able to get me a favorable ruling... I watched others in the waiting room of the court have their council bail on them and put their claims at risk... Scott ...was on the spot, contacting me in advance and explaining the process... knowing about the players and what they would do and how to counter them properly... everything was put in proper place and order and my whole time in court was 30 min... all "T"'s crossed and "I"'s doted in the best order... I feel that had I started with him I would not have had to stumble and fail... Professional, ready for anything, this guy knows his stuff, and is supported by a fantastic staff.

"I have known Scott for many years. When I first met him, I was so impressed that I immediately offered him a position at my law firm, even though he was still in law school at the time. His work for me was outstanding and equally important, he demonstrated the compassion and respect that is the hallmark of a superb attorney. When he was finished with his Court of Appeals clerkship, an honor few attorneys achieve, I offered him a full attorney position with our law firm. My confidence in Scott has always been borne out by the way he treats his clients and wins his cases. I give him my highest recommendation and refer clients to him with complete confidence."
