Helpful in minor bike accident case

Ray helped me work through a minor bike accident case. He helped determine the best way to navigate my insurance claim when I lacked some of the driver information I needed. He was very timely and effective with all communications. He provided this consultation and information at minimal cost due to ...the severity of the case being so small.

Full support for a small case

Fighting for a reasonable outcome from a large corporation isn't easy. Ray walked me through the process and was always well prepared to represent me when the key moments arrived. The corporation wasted time and money to pay out significantly more than just my medical bills, which is where this cou...ld have ended if they had done the right thing immediately after my bike accident.

Need Help – Look No Further

I got to know Ray following a cycling incident in which a car driver intentionally and seriously endangered me while riding my bike in the Portland area. I filed a police report, but authorities informed me that nothing could be done as I had no serious injuries (how fortunate I was?), no witnesses a...nd that the driver had provided a statement indicating no involvement with the incident. Was I disappointed and frustrated - folks still can commit crime and simply get away with it??? Ray’s competence and professionalism, as observed by me through several phone calls, emails and a few in-person meetings, leave no doubt as to his integrity and character in pursuit of doing “the right thing for the right reason”. The driver ended up settling out of court at an overall expense which most likely will help control his anger in the future. With that, Ray’s dedication and commitment was yet another key contribution to making the local cycling environment a little safer for all of us. Thank you!

Great!

After being run over by a car while bicycling, I received Ray's contact information from two different friends, one living in Wisconsin and another in Oregon! Both friends (who did not know each other) said Ray was "the best in town." I phoned him and he came over immediately and took my case on. The... team he assembled was ideal for my situation. Under Ray's guidance, they won me a fair settlement. Thank you Ray.

Ray Thomas - Cyclist Advocate Legend

Ray Thomas is a living legend when it comes to bike advocacy and cyclist’s rights litigation. When I was hit Ray Thomas was the first and only recommendation I was given by a friend whose father is a lawyer. My case was fairly black and white as insurance company admitted complete fault in my acciden...t. In that regard I personally didn’t interact with Mr. Thomas a lot. However, I know the man to be highly competent and the exact type of person to help fight for the rights of fellow cyclists.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
